Depending on developing players like Usman Garuba and TJD is wild instead of signing a vet that can add size and rim protection like howard there depending on rookies. There's a saying "go big or go home" so not signing a big like howard will most likely make a team like lakers or nuggets send them home early again

Homeless State didn't sign Coward because he's not a mobile, fundamentally sound center, per Nick Kerr's dad's preference; the only center they've had the past 10 years who was an exception to that was Bogut --- and although Bogut was obviously not a mobile big, he was the poster child of a fundamentally sound center (much like Levon Kooney) AND distributed the ball well from the post

All l can say is the Warriors need a big man to back up Loon. The Bigs from the Lakers clobbered them last season. The smaller unit worked in the past, but it didn't work last season. If the Warriors want to compete with the Nuggets, who have 3 main bigs, the Joker, Porter and Gordon, they definitely are in need of a big man who can score and play defense. 😒

@@RepairtheBreach5812 Right, I acknowledged that the Lakers owned us on the boards. But just because Porter is 6'10 doesnt make him a big. Its not just height, its overall size and position. "Bigs" are usually those who play the center position - they guard the paint on defense and play in the low post on offense. Porter doesnt really do that. Hes does a lot of spot up /outside shooting. Gordon doesn't really play that position either, Hes a SF/PF but more of a mid range guy.

Ugh, frustrating! I actually didn't care if Dwight played, I just wanted the option of having a 7 footer on the floor when we play really tall teams and need help rebounding. I just want a rebounding big, I don't care about shot blocking as much. If they're too big and don't have hops, they just get exposed on the perimeter. Obviously, we can't afford Myles Turner or Nic Claxton, but I'm thinking someone like that. Hoping TJD is that guy for us. Willing to give the guys in training camp a chance. Obviously, we'll find out quickly if they're out of their depth when the games start. As I've mentioned before, I hope Kerr actually gives these guys a chance before ripping them off the floor if they make a mistake.

He HAS to adjust his thinking and get a big man. The main reason GSW was unbeatable in 2015 was because of ANDREW BOGUT 's presence in the paint. The moment he was out (injured) in 2016...the paint was wide open...and the Cavs beat GSW.
By now, Kerr should see the wisdom of the past and adjust to the present. I really don't see GSW being successful without a big man.... and that disturbs me. 😐

I don't think that's it though. I think the players did like him and want him. The front office ( Kerr ) can save face by saying they made Dwight an offer and he refused. So the organization basically chose Kerr over the players.

See Swish, isn't that what I told you yesterday about Dwight Howard, you wouldn't listen? I just told you I didn't see him as a fit with this team. You doubted me and I proved you wrong once again, just as I told you they would move Jordan Poole, you thought I was crazy. Many of the things I know on basketball comes from playing a lot of basketball, studying basketball, and studying personalities and trends of players during the course of basketball games. Most fans don't "study" basketball, they simply watch it. I also told you the one player you've totally ignored, was Jonathan Kuminga, he's the ace in the hole player. As for those 2 way players, that's an absolute reach and they won't be receiving much playing time. Once again, I told you Saric and Looney were the 2 players they would play. As for Nerlen Noel, it's amazing how that dude dropped off the radar, this was a guy that was once battling with Joel Embiid for the starting center spot. But the thing that the common fan don't know, is that once a player gets traded, his market value drops each and every time he's traded despite his salary and skill set. I'll give you some examples, of players value plummeting once they got traded the first time. Antoine Walker, Shaquill Oneal, Jermaine Oneal, Ron Artest, Kendall Gill, Gary Payton, Dominique Wilkins, Marques Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Mark Price, Stephon Marbury, Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway, Tim Hardaway, Tim Thomas, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Chris Paul, Rasheed Wallace, and many others. Your value is only valuable with the team that drafted you, so once you get traded, your nothing more than a pond. Traded players value with one team is only good for 3 years max if you can stay that long before being traded again. All those players I just named didn't last 3 years with one team before being moved again. Dwight Howard is not even a commodity anymore, he nothing more than a name from the past that's struggling for a team to take a chance on him. The longer he hangs around trying to catch on with a team, he become nothing more than a CBA caliber signing for a team, he should have retired and stayed over seas.

Why won't the Warriors get a real big man. They don't need to trade with another team. There are bigs available in the free market. They can't hold leads due to having to work hard on rebounding and protecting the rim. Paul G. was right. The entire league knows that they can't protect the basket. They could use D. Howard now. The have to be the shortest team in the league.
