Hello there coach! Today, my middle school football team won a game against the trash talking team 38-0.
As a defensive back, our defense locked them up. We also won the game before that 27-0.
However, there was something different from today's winning game. I wasn't in it. What I mean, is that I didn't get to go out on the field. Instead, my coach swaps me with a faster, 1 grade higher than me, defensive back. However, he never plays DB before and wasn't as skilled as me. I have been training a DB for 5 months. He didn't train at all and instead was just playing for fun.
I wasn't able to go out on the field at all. This was really suprising for me as I was always starting defense, and I would always get the most playtime. Last games, I was starting and got playtime. Practices and scrims, I got starting and playtime.
But this game, I didn't. Since our defense locked up without me, we won 38-0. Now our team gets to eat BBQ as a reward from the coach for not letting them score a single point. Thats terrific right?!
Well, if only I actually played in the game, I wouldn't feel like a total piece of shit. We were winning by so much, that in the last 4 minutes, all starters were benched, and sub-ins all got playing time on the field together.
It was chaotic, I'll tell you that.
It's just that I feel terrible for not even participating for 1 play in the game. I'm not exaggerating, my coach had other people sub in for me even though I was always skilled enough to start.
    Now as I'm writing this,
I feel damaged. As if my hard work training at home, in practice, film studying led to me sitting on the benches and NOT STARTING. I still have hope that the swap with me not being starting was temporalily as I wouldn't imagine the coach would do something stupid like that. Or maybe, he did that so that the one sub in player could get playtime the whole game. I mean, the player who swapped me never got to get playtime on the actual field.
    congratulate
I didn't contribute to the team at today's winning game 38-0, I feel useless and forgotten as a trash DB.
THERE WAS LITERALLY PEOPLE WHO NEVER PLAYED FOOTBALL SUBBING IN FOR ME.
I GOT NO PLAYTIME ON THE FIELD TODAY.
Hey man, I know this is a lot of info to take, but I just need some help.
I feel like a useless sack of shit letting my team win without me playing.
Is there any ways to MOTIVATE myself to feel better, to feel more CONFIDENT , and to STRIVE in the football league like you?
I appreciate all the videos you put and the hard work you spend replying to comments.
This means a lot to me, and thank you..
My football team will work together towards the championships and might even win. If I'm even playing as I don't even know any more..

I appreciate you writing all of this bro- means a lot and thank you for the support! I would say as far as motivation goes you just need to use it as fuel. Feeling like that sucks but long term it’s good. I’m assuming you never want to feel like that again so that needs to be your mission. You gotta strive to improve in every area that you are lacking in right now and you need to be consistent with your work. Remember Michael Jordan didn’t make his freshman basketball team in high school- so he made it a mission to be the best basketball player possible. You need to be consistent with your work and improve 1% better each day. When you keep improving the motivation will keep growing. But keep stacking good days

@@firstdowntraining Hello! It’s been a little over a week. I’ve been extra confident and I’m interacting with my teammates even more! A couple days after that, I got into a game. I was starting… Well, after the second half
The main coach of our football team said that I should have been starting the entire game, and that I was really good. Even though we lost 26-27 in our games, we came back in the second half. The defensive back coach said I wasn’t staring cause I was the only one in 7th grade.
It went from 13-27, to 26-27 after halftime. Coincidentally, as soon as I joined the game in defense, our defense locked up the receivers and we came back. One of our teammates even got a pick!!
Practices after that, I got more pass break ups and interceptions from the confidence in myself. I worked on flag pulling, which I might of asked you and people on how to train in that. I’m now pulling pretty much every flag with my technique!
Thank you, coach. Your advice has helped me grow as defense in my football team. You helped me physically and mentally. I’m now a striving DB starting next season!
I will never forget you for saving my football career. Good luck coach, high hopes for our future!!!! 🫡🤝😄

What about the elbow in your arm action? I catch myself very often I can’t get my elbow up when I’m rotating through and my arm comes through very low

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  10 месяцев назад

So it could have a little bit to do with a long stride but also a weak rotator cuff. It kind of depends and tough for me to say without seeing you throw. But I recommend shortening the stride first and if that doesn’t work it could be the way you take the ball back or a weak rotator cuff

@@firstdowntraining thanks coach I bet it’s my weak rotator cuff :/ I’m pretty disciplined with my stride and my overall rotator cuff flexibility isn’t that great … I’ll start work on that hopefully this will solve the problem I love your content ❤️ lowkey watched you back in the day a few years ago when you hat 10k insta followers 💪🏼
