I love the regular Oud Satin Mood edp over the extrait version. The oud in the extrait version is just doing too much for me to enjoy. I do however prefer BR540 extrait over the regular BR540. I also really enjoy A La Rose 😎
I’ve only gotten into fragrance the last few months, and am working my way through a lot of samples I’ve ordered. The notes on BR540 didn’t interest me at all, but I wanted to try it as a point of reference since it is so commonly referred to. I finally tried it yesterday (extrait) and my gosh, I fell in love. As a fragrance newbie I’ve found it so interesting that fragrances with notes I love haven’t impressed me, and vice versa. Doesn’t bother me that BR540 is so popular, I live in a small town, and I wear fragrances for me anyway.
I sampled Oud Satin edp and extrait side by side and think you would greatly prefer the extrait! It has the same intense style that the other Oud extraits do but with that smooth vanilla of the satin mood. Absolutely gorgeous scent
The only MFK I own is Petit Matin. It's actually my favourite spring fragrance, I like to wear it most in May when the hawthorns bloom, as that is one of the notes and the scent of warmed hawthorn in the spring air is one of my most favourite scents ☀️
A la Rose Homme is such a good summer scent even if targeted as masculine still has that elevated fresh vibe for hot days & Oud Silk is 5* and baccarat is now too much its everywhere esp at airports

I discovered mfk through this channel, and my current favorite is l’homme a la rose. I’m a bit miffed it’s not on this list, but i understand it’s all subjective. Maybe i would’ve loved one of the discontinued scents, if i had the chance to smell them.
I can no longer stand Baccarat Rouge 540. I will not replace whenever I run out. At first I loved it but that was short lived. I like the Extrait much more. That one I will replace when I run out. I’m not familiar with the discontinued ones. I love Grand Sior ❤
Many of these I haven’t smelled, some of these sound extremely enticing but the two that I hold near and dear are Baccarat and Satin Mood. Regardless of what some may say, those two are solid 10s 💪🏽🔥
As a big fan of yours, I'm surprised you left out Masculin Pluriel. Reminds me so much of the 80's and the early 90's. Funny story - I came across this fragrance when Nikki Sixx from Mötley Crüe did an Instagram post about this fragrance. It's just wonderful. Funny story - when I was in my teens I was into heavy metal and tried to get autographs from every band that came to town (Goteborg/Sweden). Back in '84 I actually met Nikki Sixx and he overdosed (heavily) on Lagerfeld Cologne....and so did I! 😅 Great post this one. Enjoyed it a lot!
I have Lumiere Noire pour femme with me and it's one of my favourite fragrances. It's a combo of Narcissus(very prominent)+Rose+Patchouli. Great for night outs with my close friends and family, especially in late spring.
Surprised that you haven't even gotten a decant of Satine Mood Extrait. You should. To me, Extrait is exactly what I want in an extrait, the edp fragrance smell, but stronger and longer lasting. It is turn to 11, and it is the better of the 2, try to get your nose on it and it will definitely replace the EDP.
I really enjoy masculine pluriel it’s a great metallic lavender that smells clean cut and it always gets me compliments I think it gets a bad reputation because of its sweetness in regards to more traditional fougeres but I find it to be a great pick to wear in the spring with blue slacks and a crisp white shirt or even a nice blue suit
Do you have the new formulation or old? i have the reformulated 2023 version the liquid is now yellow/clear and not grey/purple. and it seems as though the sweetness has been dialed down alot. I did email customer service about this if it was reformulated but they just said its same formulation but they took the dyes out.

Tried the baccarat Rouge 540. And loved it, for the two minutes I could smell it. But, for some reason, I think my nose can’t smell it after a few first whiffs. 😢.

[APOM] by Maison Francis kurkdjian is one of the 3 best orange blossom perfumes I’ve sniffed, however something in Apom unsettles me. It has a sweetness and rawness I can’t describe that should have been tapered with mixing with harsher citrus accords to make it more acidic or can I say zestier? but hey, I’m a sucker for orange 🍊 perfumes.
Just found a decent of absolou pour le soir online and ordered a 15 ml. I’m hoping it’s agreeable to me. It’s coming from a trusted seller so I’m hoping it will be authentic

I do have both Oud Satin edp and Extrait. The Extrait has a good performance, sillage and projection just like the 540 Extrait which is better than the 540 edp. But I still like both edp and extrait 😍
absolue pour le soir might be reformulated and rereleased according to a review on fragrantica that said FK wanted to give it a new impetus. hopefully it does come back so i can get my nose on it :)
I just got a bottle of Dior Oud Ispahan because I smelled the miniature and it reminded me of my Oud Silk Mood EDP which I was down to my last spray. For some reason I was totally wrong or my new bottle of Oud Ispahan hasn't 'matured' enough. MFK does oud fragrances so beautifully and I will never get over that. I would need to get a bottle of Silk Mood again. I just wonder how does Satin Mood compare to it?
AplS is nearly impossible to find and will cost $$$$, they need to bring it back. I do have it’s predecessor, Cologne pour le Soir. Our bottle of Ciel de Gum is nearly full, only worn a few times- need to wear it more often. IMO, Grand Soir is one of the most elegant scents in the World- sheer luxury. The current house has sadly been diminished.
I personally feel there should be more videos featuring discontinued fragrances. Because of videos like these , I’ve been able to add CH Men Prive and the really cool Sean John 3am. I found a little mom & pop store that had a few discontinued stuff and luckily I had heard about these 2 recently so I snagged them

Nice video! Iw ore Grand Sour yesterday and Roja's Piere de Velay 4 today - very similar powdery ambers with a slight aromatic and boozy twist, but the Roja is in another league completely. If you have a chance you might want to check it out.

I would love to find a bottle of Absolue Pour le Soir. I just missed it when I got into MFK. I also missed Cashmere Mood and would like to at least smell it at some point. I love Satin Mood Extrait, it's in my top 5 of my collection for sure.
I'm actually surprised Masculin Pluriel didn't make the list. I think anyone who left that scent trail would come across pretty amazing, and it could work for almost any age and situation. I think even after a sports game I could come out of a locker room with that on and smell high end, rejuvenated, clean, and fascinating. Maybe unorthodox, but I could consider it a sportier more energized Dior Homme in its style of class and elegance.
I think I have a decant of APOM somewhere, will have to dig it out... I snagged a bottle of Absolue Pour Le Soir back in 2015 but unfortunately I never wear it, may need to let someone else enjoy it. I also have Masculin Pluriel, and a couple of decants of BR540 EDP. Great feature of MFK fragrances!

Lumière noire means black light or dark light. It sounds like an awesome perfume. I’ll hunt it down.

Maybe unorthodox, but I could consider it a sportier more energized Dior Homme in its style of class and elegance.
It has been completely reformulated with a major color change. I haven't gotten my nose on the new fragrance so unfortunately I left it off!
Question ⁉️ had anyone layered BR540 with BR540 extrait? What does it do? Does it amp it up? Cancel out? Goes sweeter? More bitter? Im so curious!
I think I have a decant of APOM somewhere, will have to dig it out... I snagged a bottle of Absolue Pour Le Soir back in 2015 but unfortunately I never wear it, may need to let someone else enjoy it. I also have Masculin Pluriel, and a couple of decants of BR540 EDP. Great feature of MFK fragrances!

They are both ambers but different and from what I have heard APLS became Grand Soir .
