True. I remember being weirded out by the drawings she made, that she did not know who it was she was drawing. The Grandma seemed to know, but she knew it wasn't 'right' to mention it to her just yet.

I love how movies used to respect our intelligence. Taylor was right there the entire time, waiting, protecting carol-anne. When she yells for her dad you know she was trying to go to him, but taylor stopped her. He was there to help them, and protect her. Brilliant.
Also, Taylor knew Stephen himself had to fight this battle of wills with Kane. Carol-Anne was able to intervene at a certain point, but Taylor makes it clear to Stephen that he himself has been preparing for an epic battle his whole life.......& now its here.
Wow, just realized how the filmmakers suddenly began to 'age' Kane...right from the start of the scene....watch the scene from the start, he doesn't look nearly as 'demonic' or 'undead'! Then he looks more normal again, as he leaves. Fantastic film. RIP Kane & Taylor.
Just found out that the house used in the film is not too far away from my Mom's house (Altadena). It looked so familiar, like many craftsman style houses in this area. Will definitely stop by one of these days 🙂

In today's world..... these scenes would be lost on a generation of constant fireworks and weird noises. The spiritual and mental warfare displayed here would be lost on them. This was a tremendous build up, leading up to a final battle. Kane is working on possessing Steven. Getting inside him. Just with a casual conversation. Innocence vs black, hunting, putrid evil. Without Carol Ann interrupting (warning) her father, the Native Spirit Warrior ready to intercede.... Steven would have invited that wicked thing into his house.

I think that the first film did a great job of building up suspense that the second one used to close the loop but that third one was completely tedious and unnecessary.
