Great playlist! But I noticed that there weren't many POV's here so I took matters into my own hands. Never thought I would end up like this but it's fun so I will not be stopping anytime soon. I hope you enjoy! And I hope it doesn't get burried in the comments. GN reader I was fixing myself a drink at the bar. Looking over to one of the tables I saw my friend Veritas with Topaz and Aventurine from the IPC playing cards. Aventurine with his eternal smug expression while the other two were growing more frustrated by the minute. I chuckled and sipped my drink. “Ahhhh! I am done!” Topaz stood up from the table. She started walking away. “Don’t go~,” Aventurine whined. His eyes immediately shot towards me. “Hey, Ratio… I don’t think I met your new friend,” he said looking straight at me. I sighed. I started walking over. “Your pleas have been heard,” I chuckled. “(Y/N)... you know you don’t have to,” Veritas gave me a worried look. “So (Y/N)?” Aventurine smiled looking me up and down. “I’m fine but I don’t do poker,” I said. “Why not? Don’t know how?” Aventurine asked. Veritas gave him a death glare that Aventurine was blissfully unaware of. “I know how I just don’t have good memories surrounding it,” I shrugged. “It has been a while since I held cards in my hand,” I chuckled as I gathered them up. “How many decks do we have?” I asked. “One,” Aventurine said. “Do you have a second one?” I asked. “Of course,” he smirked and placed it on the table. I started shuffling. “Oh~ that's clean,” he chuckled. “Aventurine,” Veritas gave a warning. “I grew up in a casino so yeah,” I smiled at the blondie. He looked away. Veritas just sighed in exasperation. After a moment Aventurine was back to asking. “What are we playing?” he leaned closer. “Continental Rummy,” I smiled and placed the two decks mixed into one in the centre of the table. “I’ve heard of this game,” Aventurine nodded. “I take it, you'll teach us?” he smirked. I nodded. “Although the rules my family used to play by are a bit different,” I explained. “Ok… the person to my right will grab the deck in a random spot… look at the three bottom cards and if there is a joker you can keep it… leave the bottom card turned and place the rest of the deck on it,” I turned to Veritas. “This card can be used under specific circumstances,” I continued explaining. “You can use it only if you can put all of your cards on the table and no-one else has any cards out,” I said. Veritas got no jokers so he just put the deck down. I took the rest of the deck and started dealing cards to everyone. “Everyone gets 14 cards… only the person to my left gets 15,” I turned to Aventurine. “You will be starting by discarding one card so you have the same amount as us,” I continued. “We will go clockwise,” I turned back to Veritas. “Each round consists of taking one card from the deck and discarding one… we have to go three rounds like this,” I explained. “Once we take the three rounds you can start putting our cards on the table,” I said. “When you make the initial opening all the cards need to be 42 or more points,” I said. “The number cards have the amount of points as the number… the King, Queen and Jack are for ten points and the Ace is twenty,” I explained. “You have to cast them in groups of three at minimum either by type or a sequence but there has to be at least one proper sequence,” I said. “Proper sequence?” Veritas asked. “You can replace any card with a joker but only one when you initially place it on the table,” I said. He nodded in understanding. “The goal is to get rid of your cards by either making more groups of three or adding to the ones on the table… the final card you discard will be turned around to close the game,” I finished explaining. “Questions?” I asked. “I know it’s a lot but I believe you are capable,” I chuckled as I started placing the cards in my hand and arranging them. In the corner of my eye I noticed the two struggling to hold all the cards at the same time. Veritas decided to place the cards that he did not want on the table in front of him while Aventurine was determined to hold onto all of them. I smiled. He discarded one card. I didn’t have a bad hand but didn’t have a sequence. “Also… once the three rounds pass you can take the top card from the discard pile but you have to use it immediately,” I added. Three rounds came up. I was half expecting Aventurine to reach for the card under the deck but we got lucky. As soon as he could he opened. “Nice,” I smiled. I had a lot in my hands to add on to his. Veritas took a card from the top and frowned. “Can’t open?” I smiled. He glared at me. I saw the card he was holding as he was contemplating whether or not to keep it. I begged the gambling gods for him to discard it… and he did. “Yes!” I exclaimed. I took the card. “9, 10, Jack, Queen and King,” I said triumphantly. Aventurine laughed. “You played right into their cards,” he winked at me. I chuckled. I added my three 5s and a joker with two Queens. I started adding onto Aventurine’s cards. I realised I would be left with two cards which wasn’t ideal so I kept one card behind leaving myself with three cards. I had a 6 and two 3s while tossing a King. “Thank you, that's exactly what I wanted,” Aventurine smirked. I glared at him. He had four cards in hand. He cannot close the game can he? He placed an Ace on the table, took the King I discarded then placed a Joker and finally a Jack. He used the last card to close the game. I sat there stunned. “You kept the highest value cards in your hand?” I blurted out. “The Joker counts for 50 points if you don’t use it,” I added. He smiled. “I was willing to risk it,” he added. Suddenly Veritas sprung to his seat grabbing Aventurine by his tie. “You insolent fool!” he exclaimed. I leaned back into my seat. Veritas is rarely this angry. “Why so angry?” Aventurine smiled. “That was fun,” I smiled. The two men turned to me confused. “Let’s… let’s not get angry about a silly game… we didn't even play for money,” I added. “I apologise for my rashness,” Veritas coughed awkwardly and sat back down. “Your folks were the angry bunch, (Y/N)?” Aventurine asked, sounding a bit concerned. “You will not take the hint would you, Gambler?” Veritas huffed. I silently nodded. “Ok! Round summary!” I exclaimed. “Aventurine has minus 10 and I had 9 points left in my hand… how many did you have Veritas?” I asked with a cheeky smile. He was left with his full hand. We gave him a moment to count. He had a Joker and high value cards. “183… he said. “Not as bad as I thought,” I smiled. “I was once left with a full hand with three Jokers… it was almost three hundred,” I chuckled. I put the paper and pen down. “Now it’s Aventurine’s turn to deal the cards, I’ll be looking for the Joker and Veritas will be the one to start,” I said. “You want to continue?” Veritas asked as Aventurine was already eagerly shuffling. I nodded. “It’s fun,” I reassured him. Aventurine placed the deck in front of me. I grabbed it at a random point. First card… nothing. Second card… nothing. Third card… Joker! “Got it!” I cheered. “You’re really having fun aren’t you,” Aventurine chuckled. “As long as you’re having fun,” Veritas gently ruffled my hair. Aventurine gave us our cards and a new round began. “You have to take me along more often,” I turned to Veritas. “I’ll gladly see you anytime you want,” Aventurine said before Veritas could respond. “I love that idea,” I smiled. “Anyways… I’m closing the game,” Aventurine winked, taking the card from under the deck. I put on a pained smile. “You wretched gambler!” Veritas exclaimed.

To be honest this entire situation was just so uncomfortable to you. Okay you should have probably started at the beginning. Aventurine and Veritas had invited you to one of the most giant casinos in the world you were currently docked at, your friends on the star rail had made an effort to explain that you had to make friends outside of the people on the rail itself so you didn't refuse their offer and went with them . So you bought a nice suit from Mr. Welt seeing as the things that March wore were not really your thing, Dan heng had flat out refused you borrowing his nice outing clothes and you still being moderately new to the crew didn't have a lot of outfits went to your last two hopes Himeko and Welt. Himeko was excited to see if you would like her clothing but her clothing was too elegant for your taste, she was rather the type to overdress than go out underdressed and you apologised to her for getting her hopes down.Then you went to welt, your last hope and to your surprise he had a few suits that were just your size in the back of his closet from when he was younger. With a few adjustments from Pom-Pom and March the suit felt just right. So dressed with a suit and a bit of excitement, you went with aventurine and Dr.ratio they both joked that you looked alot older than you actually were in the suit. You’d joke with them saying you may have only been born a few months ago but you weren't mentally a toddler nor was your body. They both agreed , as you got to the entrance of the casino they had already set up a booth for the three of you. So you settled down and enjoyed a bit of food before bringing out the alcohol , then that's when you panicked a little , having never actually consumed alcohol in the small window of existence since you actually were born you asked them not to serve you any. They gave you understanding looks and drank only themselves. That's when it went down hill, after only a few drinks both seemed a bit under the influence but they continued and ended up at the gambling table. Dr.ratio seemed to have stopped drinking being the smarter one of the two of them and had taken to playing blackjack with an apostolate wasted aventurine. You had been watching them cheering the both of them and had looked at both their cards. They had been extremely strict in not allowing you to not play blackjack explaining that you were still considered too young to play tho Aventurine had been against it until Dr. ratio gave him a slap on the back of the head.
So you watched the both of them play until well after Aventurine seemed to have once out of nowhere, then Dr.ratio got really out of control being drunk and Aventurine being too mad well them both being wasted got kicked out. You had been escorted out with them and helped them back to the Star rail where everyone on board was very very mad at both ratio and Aventurine for allowing themselves to get wasted. Let’s just say you weren't able to go out with those two again

To be honest this entire situation was just so uncomfortable to you. Okay you should have probably started at the beginning.
Aventurine and Veritas had invited you to one of the most giant casinos in the world you were currently docked at, your friends on the star rail had made an effort to explain that you had to make friends outside of the people on the rail itself so you didn't refuse their offer and went with them .
So you bought a nice suit from Mr. Welt seeing as the things that March wore were not really your thing, Dan heng had flat out refused you borrowing his nice outing clothes and you still being moderately new to the crew didn't have a lot of outfits went to your last two hopes Himeko and Welt.
Himeko was excited to see if you would like her clothing but her clothing was too elegant for your taste, she was rather the type to overdress than go out underdressed and you apologised to her for getting her hopes down.Then you went to welt, your last hope and to your surprise he had a few suits that were just your size in the back of his closet from when he was younger. With a few adjustments from Pom-Pom and March the suit felt just right.
So dressed with a suit and a bit of excitement, you went with aventurine and Dr.ratio they both joked that you looked alot older than you actually were in the suit. You’d joke with them saying you may have only been born a few months ago but you weren't mentally a toddler nor was your body. They both agreed , as you got to the entrance of the casino they had already set up a booth for the three of you.
So you settled down and enjoyed a bit of food before bringing out the alcohol , then that's when you panicked a little , having never actually consumed alcohol in the small window of existence since you actually were born you asked them not to serve you any.
They gave you understanding looks and drank only themselves.
That's when it went down hill, after only a few drinks both seemed a bit under the influence but they continued and ended up at the gambling table.
Dr.ratio seemed to have stopped drinking being the smarter one of the two of them and had taken to playing blackjack with an apostolate wasted aventurine.
You had been watching them cheering the both of them and had looked at both their cards. They had been extremely strict in not allowing you to not play blackjack explaining that you were still considered too young to play tho Aventurine had been against it until Dr. ratio gave him a slap on the back of the head.
So you watched the both of them play until well after Aventurine seemed to have once out of nowhere, then Dr.ratio got really out of control being drunk and Aventurine being too mad well them both being wasted got kicked out. You had been escorted out with them and helped them back to the Star rail where everyone on board was very very mad at both ratio and Aventurine for allowing themselves to get wasted.
Let’s just say you weren't able to go out with those two again
