Thank you for having a camera angle that really shows the puddle and how you're using the stick around and in it. Definitely helps me see it here in a video so I can try and look for something similar when I do my own welds. Fitting up pipe like this for a weld takes a while and it's hard sometimes to feel like you're getting enough welding in when you spend so much time cutting and grinding pipe.
Love your videos can't stop watching and I'm just a hobbyist welder.
Good old Bob To round out my day! Thank you sir for your excellent videos and teaching skills
I was having to pool cue my rod a lot on a job I was doing and started warping my glove fingers. Couldn't find anything but masking tape. Wrapped 2 fingers and it worked great! The rod isn't hot enough to burn the tape, and my glove stays straight. Now I have masking tape on 2 fingers of every left glove I have.
Why do you want to have a wider gap for uphill? Thanks for your videos, I'm a fan of all of them!
I have a request, if y'all made a video explaining why you choose certain gaps given different circumstances that would be the bees knees. Variables such as size of rod, uphill or downhill, process and other things that would affect the gap you choose. That would be really helpful to me and I'm sure many others.
I love the tips. I will try to practice this with my everlast stick welder.
Fascinating how you know that two different size rods can run the same amperage you have an amazing wealth of knowledge Bob love the videos keep up the great work
Master you are great, thanks for your videos
Awesome Bob, learn a lot from you.
Nice arc shots as usual cameraman!
Awesome tutorial Bob, keep up the good work🤠👍🏽
Awesome job! Thanks for posting!
Bob and pipe. Had to be another good lesson.
This kind of reminds me of running fire watch for tge shipyard welders at pearl harbor welding steam line. They would tig tge first two passes then fill with stick, no hrinding and it was smooth.
i love bob moffat.. thanks bob!
It looked like you were about to lose your metal on that stringer pass. Close! Nice job.
Beautiful cap, keep it up with these uphill pipe welding videos very informative! Thanks brother
How many amps are you running at? I know you said you were running the 7018 and 6010 at the same amperage but I didn’t hear you say the actual amperage lol
Thats how its done
Thanks bob- you the man... BM
спасибо дяденька из америки.у вас интересные видео.будьте здоровы.
Thank you sir !
If I welded 1/10 as much as I watched I might be better, eh? Kudos's to your camera work. That was the best and most informative shot of an arc's leading edge and puddle I have seen yet.
Bob if you wish you can clean your helmet shield with an aluminum polish, I have used a product called Mothers Aluminum Polish
it works great just wipe some on then wipe off with soft cloth and it is back clear/clean again.
Can you do a video on how to do a bevel
Alberto Saucedo different ways to bevel. For the budget guys to the money makers👌🏻🙌🏻
Just ran some 4in same way. Wish I could upload a pic looked good
thanks in advance - - same amps.. 90ish? on the hot side for sch80?
Great video keep them coming
Hi Bob. Can you do a demonstration on a cement lined pipe. I have a test next month
It would help me to see your grinder work to see the weld before you fill it in, please. :o) Thank you. This is very helpful Blessings friend
Just tried to weld a 22mm pipe. Thick...damn thing blew a hole in it. Yesterday the settings werent enough to weld 10ga but in the part I NEED, and worked my ass off to recondition...this is the one it blows through.
My hands are shaking..(injury. I shouldnt be around machinery). I dont know of a trick to keep a 1/16 rod steady enough. After 1000 times of it sticking to the piece, I finally get my tacks...and then I begin my bead...and blow a 1/8 hole in the piece.
Can you do 6010 root downhill and 8010 downhill fill and cap
Mate when you backing tech.you dont worry about silicon what can add when weld. I just asking becouse is problem with UT.
I used same tech on mig/mag even somethimes on tig,but the silicon(si) is not smelt everythime
Hi. I bought a DC stick welder that came with J422 sticks. They wekd very easy but messy. I bought E6010. They are cleaner but harder to spark. Whats the difference between the E6010 and the J422 (E4303)? Thanks
Like a true welder. Never buff the bead unless they tell you too. Love ya bob
Where to put the negative cable on the pipeline during welding
Are you doing the whip technique with the 6010?
Bob quasso the procedure heating of rais filling come the o finish
great work
Hey Bob what amperage 75-80? I have been practicing this exact test and I am having trouble blowing through on my root with the 1/8 rods...
Bob commented he is using 75 amps hope this helps someone else 👍
What's your land and gap? May need to speed up. Or maybe stop pushing so hard or even a stitch motion as key hole gets to big.
Put a heavier land since you don’t know how to weld tour moving slower,,,,since your moving slow a larger land will help you gather your thoughts at your pace when your start moving naturally and faster you won’t have an issue blowing through
What is a good multiprocess machine for a new young welder. that's going to be doing welding all day 5 days a week? What's the differences between welders
What amperage did you run your root?
75 amps
Do a stick video on what not to do on pipe and the reactions.
We did. It's called common mistakes in pipe welding
Couuuuuponnnsss
Maybe you give me some tips. But i dont think we cant jump this. Reaction weld is just reaction.
I just started working as a pipefitter with local 72 in Atlanta .. im 42 and have never welded in my life... What video would you recommend me to start with....
Stick welding 101
Leave the welding to the welders stick to your craft and learn to fit pipe...
@@tonyguerra7799 I am yet to meet a good pipefitter who doesn't weld as a matter of fact to be a journeyman in my local you have to have a welding certification I'm going in an hour early everyday and practicing..
I’m part of a local also as a journeyman tour suppose to be able to do both but fuck that I’m not getting two checks and trust me when tour in it for a longer time you’ll notice a fitter wants to fit and a welder wants to weld,,, that’s the way it is that’s why later on your gonna have to decide what route to take,,,the only ones that benefit from one person being able to do both jobs is the fat man owners
Nice...say hello to brazilians welders...
Hello and thanks for the support.
Im welder from egypt
Is this Bob's last video?
Nice videos Bob. You seem to push the rod on 3:03 an 3:22. How come you don’t get any slag inclusions. Do you have a special trick?
Cuuld you please demonstrate square structural pipe. Especially 12". Thank you, Bob.
Do a video for us old bastards on I can't see, It'll be fun! Maybe touch on some of the vison aids available that go in helmets. I simply have a pair of safety glasses with a bifocal element top and bottom just so I can see out of the helmet and weld in focus. Most of the time anyway!
Still enjoying the pipe series Bob. I never did a lot of pipe welding, but the techniques used are so handy in repair work, especially when you can only weld from one side. 5P "wonder rod" for roots and close up gaps ( Dare I say burn through dirt😀) and 7018 for fill and cap.
something's different. new camera? new lights?
Please translation Arapic you very good
A "series" of pipe welding videos... Like over 30 in the past year...
bob what the hell happened to your beard? you look so fancy with a beard. you need one.😎😎😎
I'm a novice. Where do I go to learn the terms? I'm getting some of them but everytime I learn one, I hear three new ones.
Don’t worry about the terms learn to weld first
And pliz dont say me add more Amp. Xd i weld up weld with 200(mag) Amp without rutilius wire
Those steps on the hot pass are loose it seems but I'm sure it works for him everybody's got a different way
Carol Florian tou can tell you don’t know what your talking about tight steps are happen more naturally on down hill not up
Alright keyboard welder bet you can't run shit but your mouth
@@tonyguerra7799 yeah right keyboard welder bet the only thing you can run is your mouth
Thought Jody was going to be on with that title.
@@eugeneb5979 I don't know about all of that. I was just hoping to see a collab with Jody. I don't think he's trademarked the term "Tips & Trick" or that Weld.com is trying to "rip off" anyone by any means.
Also, what the heck is Tijuana Tig?
I think it's when you use an extra rod and feed it into the puddle with other hand like TIG but when stick welding. Also know as "Teaxas TIG
@@Steve_Just_Steve
Thanks. Should have guessed that one. Duh on me!
Steve, is that another stick? or an uncoated tig rod?
@@davem3953 Stick rod
Pipelines weldings is my dreams sml ï Ben dream about it my sleep yesterday’s night because is just hards works pays off in everything’s weldings my passions jobs 📝📝💉🥽
fifty thousands , 15 tenths bla bla
hate this thing... 1mm 4mm 1cm 1mt its just simple...
Yeah, imperial is a pain when you get to a 64th or when people use it for numbers that millimeters are better suited.
Especially when you're adjusting valves: .006 to .004 is pointless to beat a dead horse when one system would suffice.
That whole weld is so inconsistent.....
mike bausman your an idiot inconsistency doesn’t show on x ray or when you bend...
