A book just published, titled "Aukewingeketawso", including reproduced period documents, summarizes the French Indian War era with special focus on a man named Charles Langlade (1729 - 1800), who initially led Native American warriors, Canadians and French against the British between 1752-60 before afterwards swearing allegiance to British after the French were defeated and later aided the former in their (failed) efforts in American Revolution against the United States. A very interesting read.
Hi I'm a wee bit confuzzled because at 2:40 or so it says "now even before **Washington was defeated** at Fort Duquesne, a congress was meeting..." was Washington defeated when the French first took over the post? Because I thought that the French lost the post eventually, right?
