In my experience I have visited three different piercers over the course of my life. Some of these risks are simply not discussed by the piercer, especially if they are wanting you to get the piercing, some lie about their level of experience, which can place you at risk, the last piercer I visited was excellent, it was to reinsert a nose stud, that had fallen out, it had to be tapered open to be reinserted. She explained everything to me, told me I would experience some soreness for a few days, and to take some ibuprofen, and it did disappear after a few days. I will definitely visit her again, because she explained that to me, made me feel calm, very relaxed, and she was very knowledgeable and professional as well as sweet as can be.
Sadly you are right. Piercer will for example say that swimming won't be an issue after a few weeks or that they will be able to take the jewelry out for sports. They will either omit or lie about information that might keep you from getting the piercing. Also they will misrepresent their skills and experience. Knowledge is power and empowering. I truly believe that the more you know the better the experience. Also piercers thst share information without being asked tend to be passionate about piercing. I'm happy to hear that you found a piercer that is open and informative. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching.

👁️👁️ immediately removes hand from my nose ring to see if it still hurts after getting an irritation bump 😭
Good to hear. It's an impulse to want to touch and sooth it.
