That would be amazing! I hope Metra will extend some lines to mid sized cities in the future. There is a plan to extend one of the lines to Rockford by 2027 and there are other proposals/studies for new extensions in the near future. We just have to wait and see what else is planned. :)
I rode the line between Chicago and Elburn the most some people don't know the line originally ended at Geneva before the extension was put in as the original yard was in West Chicago but Elburn has its own yard now
My comment did you travel on Saturday or Sunday and if you did did you buy a $10 bus pass for those two days or is it a screen pass I can't remember two days for 10 bucks on the train
Yes, this was a Saturday trip. We used a weekend pass for the trip since we were going to take 4 trains (2 to Chicago, 1 to Kenosha, and 1 to Clarendon Hills).
Metra is short of Metropolitan Rail, started by the Chicago Regional Transit Authority. Metra’s F40PH locomotives also had metropolitan rail under Metra but was removed later on.
@@scorpiolou2004 I can see that being a problem, however, the term “cab car ride” is considered the general term for front view videos when it comes to Metra or Caltrain.

Is the bridge that appears at 59:39 the one that Macauley Culkin crosses in Home Alone?
Do you mean the bridge that appears at 1:00:00 ?
@@MSRP186 Either one, it was dark in the shot.
You are correct, the bridge at the front of the station is from home alone
Imagine a full cab ride from Milwaukee to Chicago.

Don’t think anyone has covered this whole line yet. Very nice.
As a cab car ride yes, no one has done a cab car ride video of the full line.
Nice video thanks for sharing keep up good work and be safe God bless
I realize it's been over 10 years since I've left the area but I still enjoy you guys as much as I do
Beautiful nighttime approach into Chicagoland!
Great video, this is one of the best.
Good job. this is my favorite line.

That trip was on my bucket list but I ran out of time on the vacation.
and didn’t get to do it
My first time watching other train outside of New York
Will you do more videos like this?🙏🏿🙏🏿
Yes, I will have more metra rides planned in the future
@@MSRP186 Looking forward to it

What no crossing guard HORNS?
Fix the 'BELL'..!..!
Great to see some stateside cab view videos, that bell on the Metra car is a really an irritating sound, anyway keep developing your videos….
Dennis Stephan: That bell is like an irritating kids 🪀 toy.
IMAGINE hearing that in the middle of the night
I rode these at night I know
I don’t have to. I live right next to a railroad crossing
Ngl i low key starting to like that bell 😂
bro that bell 😂😂
Needs some maintenance. Sounds like a square wheel or two.

What does Metra mean?

yeah , the horn, any day
Bell is broken
You're not in the cab. You're in the passenger car. You should title your video front view.

poor Driver, having to endure that din, all day
I’m sure after a while you get used to it
this is American, right ??
Actually it's local suburban transportation for the Chicago area
there is cows, coming from all directions for fodder
Cool 😎
Archie Campbell could do a good rendition of this
now the engine has gone on the blink
I wish it wasn't at night
TOO BAD THE STATIONS WERE NOT IDENTIFIED.
I said the same thing to myself. It’s always nice when the stations are identified because in this case it shows you where you are
WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?
Ken Provus: The conductor isn't speaking English. What language I'm not sure.
Nice
he sounds American
VA LIKE
industrial deafness
whoever is banging that pot lid needs another job
Good God that bell is obnoxious
Metra really needs to fix their bells, as they struggle to make a sound, ring too slow, or too fast.
