great video James, Ring of Steall was my first winter Munros, away back in the seventies. like you say the views a fantastic . keep up the good work ATB John
Thanks Charlie, looking forward to going back to the Mamores already 😁 and no doubt I will do the Ring of Steall again someday (without filming 😂) Atb James
Stunning James, what a day for it 👌 Nice wee action shots on the ridgey mcridge face 😁 Good memories of when me & Rob did it. Your fairly battering oot the Munros these days. 😎
Cheers Kev, got a cracking day! The ridge was awesome 😁 as you know, the camera makes it look steeper than it is 😂 getting there, hopefully hit 100 by end of the year.. how many are you on now? 🏔
Don't blame you for using the bypass path. I would too. Great vid. One for the future outwith the summer season. Some great photos too. I take it you follow 'Scotlands Mountains' if not worth a follow.
Yeah im not the best with heights yet 😂 would be an amazing winter route, yeah been following Scotlands Mountains for a while - one of the reasons I got into Munro Bagging 😃 Thanks for watching, Atb James
Ring of Steall was the best day out in the mountains I ever had. I went the other way around though and found the descent of Am Bodach scary in the snow.
Aaw great video, and great hike. Well done for giving the Devils Boulder a miss, l could feel my legs getting wobbly 😉😆better than calling out the MR. What a gorgeous day for it, and fab views. Lovely filming and photos, thank you, Alioban
Great video mate 👍🏻. Have this round in the diary in a few weeks, nice to see what it entails. Hope we get the weather you did! Keep up the good work ☺️
Love the videos mate. Your cousin Gregor shared your channel with me. Absolutely love the camera work on the 360. The post editing is spot on. Well done mate. Looking forward to more videos!
@@ScottishMunroJourney hahah, awesome! He's my favorite Scottish poker player :) Come to think of it, my favorite poker player too, and twitch streamer!
Great video James! I'm heading over beginning of June this year. Can you tell me what hiking pants you used in that video? They seem durable. Thanks so much
Hello James, these are fantastic videos and a real source of encouragement and enlightenment for those wanting to get into hillwalking. Could you tell me what camera you use to record your videos please? I was thinking of using an iPhone but I don't know if it would be of good enough quality or not. Keep 'em coming and good luck on your future trips!
Hi, hope you don’t mind a late comment from a summer-only hiker (I’m a teacher) but I often find water an issue when doing ridge walks… I remember having to drink out of a puddle on the 5 sisters I was that dehydrated! Any water tips for this hike? Carrying 4 litres is just too much weight.
My friend and I headed up this morning but from Kinlochleven, in reverse. Cloud was down and I'm not the best on exposed ridges and got panicky in the thick mist. How bad is the ridge? Keen to try again on a clear day. Used to love fun scrambley ridges when I was younger, but now so nervous and almost get vertigo.
The ridge itself is fantastic, yes it has steep drops off either side but not ‘sheer’ so doesn’t seem so bad 😁 just a bit if care needed & the most difficult part of devils ridge can be avoided.. enjoy 😁 Cheers, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney thanks. Apparently I walked this with my dad and brother when I was about age 9 and to quote my dad, "it was a fantastic day". I just need to work on this recent issue of vertigo on open and narrow ridges.
Loving all your videos!! Quick question though.. you often feature songs from a particular Scottish singer. Who is that? I’ve never heard of him, but I really like it. All the best, Mark
Once you have completed and documented all the munros id love you to show the corbetts or graemes or other walks i love the content you create! Are you using the walkhighlands website for the directions for the munros? Many thanks. Alan
Thanks for watching Alan, I will probably show some corbetts and different hills after the Munros 😁 After i have documented all the Munros I will probably do them all again without filming - should feel easier second time round 😂 Yeah mainly walkhighland directions, seem to be good so far 😁👍 Atb, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney sounds like a good idea regarding not filming it. Are you going to do the assynt munros soon? And whats the normal trousers you wear before you put on any waterproof ones?
@@Highlander247 funny you say that, planning Conival and Ben More Assynt next 😁 I mainly wear Revolution Race GPX trousers which are the blue ones, they have been great so far 😁👍
Cracking video James. A classic route than i did 2 years ago but you got better views than me, I just remember the descent off Sgurr a Mhaim took forever! Do you use Rode wireless for audio? Might invest in this bit of kit.
Thanks Andrew, that descent is a nightmare 😂 would maybe do it the other way around if i do it again.. Yeah its the rode wireless, it comes in handy, especially with the wind in scotland 😂
Another great video of an epic which is on my to do list. How long did it take in total incl the walk out James? The walk out often the knee wrecker I find.
Thanks for watching Andrew, I think it was around about 9hrs including the walk out😁but as you can see, I mess about a lot with filming so probably do it in less.. And yes, the walk out is pretty hard going on this one, but the walk beforehand more than makes up for it 😁 enjoy it when you do it, Atb, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney cheers James bet you were glad to get back to your car. Video gives a great sense of route, distances and challenges. Keep em coming pal.
