This was very helpful how you broke it down and described the shapes you were seeing in the flowers and then sketching. Loved seeing the nature of PEI. I'm from Ontario, but living in the States right now. Loved seeing another Canadian out there doing your thing! Thank you for the time and energy you put into your videos- they're great!
I am so inspired by your botanical sketching! I have been making birthday cards, each with five or six little sketches of different flowers or herbs. I choose the flowers based on the personality of the person who is having a birthday. I am learning how to loosen up my drawings, and how to do a bit of lettering too!! With thanks to you and your wonderful videos...

Shayda you inspire me so much. I'm here in Australia so my flower options are very different to yours however we are heading into out boiling scorching hot summer (it's never pleasurable) however I'm looking forward to developing my botanical drawings over the coming months. Thanks so much for you continued advice and guidance. ❤️

Sono molto meravigliata dal modo in cui tieni la penna, non si tiene in quel modo ,ma con 3 dita ,pollice indice e medio che stringono la parte bassa della penna!
Love the whimsical look to these botanicals. Sounds and looks like fun. Will have to give it a try! Did you have your summer shop this year? I don’t remember any videos. Loved it last year. Hugs🤗🤗🤗 🌼🌸🌺🌿 Happy Week 🍂🌻🐿🌻🍂
It's not difficult. You can learn from many books, or an app such as plantnet which is great as you take a photo and upload and it will match the plant from their database. You have to be careful that the information is correct though as it is based on what other people say they have uploaded pictures of. For professional identification I rely on botanical keys but apps can be a good source, especially where there is some local peculiarity, e.g. some plants vary in shape considerably because of hybridisation but if I have an inkling of what species it may be I can narrow it down from there.
you hold your pen like i hold mine. I find my hand cramps up when I hold my pen like this and how I fixed it is to use a fountain pen or a sumo grip mechanical pencil.
I agree, Sorry but the way some people hold their pens always put me off watching. I know it's a bit pathetic, but that's me. Teachers these days say, it doesn't matter as long as the words are legible!
Did you know in Singapore it is illegal to pick plants. That means I can't make a book of compressed wild plants if i do not own one store brought. Justifying habits, in a city akin to a (that's far out man) space shuttle similar to star trek. Doesn't make sense until you try to be primitive in Singapore.
Love just letting go and seeing what appears. Makes me so happy. Thank you.
thank you for breaking down the process in such a simple way. 🌼🌻
