I just miss the days when such songs would play on those radios that used batteries. Cousins in your grandma's house. Life was good back then. We now live to reminisce on those days. Sadly
I've recently fallen in love with this music. The combination of rhythm, harmony and the beautiful meter of the language paints a beautiful picture. Now...if only I spoke Swahili.....
Oh dear E. Obega @kbc, Infact ihad wanted to know if you are well a couple of years ago!! Igrew up with your Music in the mid.70`s. You used to air from 6am this "Jam" feauturing "Millie Jackson and Teddy pendergrass, Songs like "It hurts so good,Loving arms, If you are not back in love by monday, I was 16yrs öld by then!! I left Kenya 35 years ago and feel like crying when i listen to These Music. You were so great. How is Elizabeth Omollo doing??? Sweet home!!! Regards from Germany.
I like such zilizopendwa hits. Very nice. Lakini who can get us Zainabo by Issa Juma? That nostalgic song goes thus: Nitafanya nini mama, juu yako Zainabo. Fanya hima urudi mama, mie mwenzio nateseka...

My dad used to listen to these songs, was a regular hizo bar zote,he would take me then was a little gal (ndio mama asishuku),bush bar coconut,Congo, many nights would be left in the car to sleep, now all grown up,I miss those days so much!
Do Not Tour Sigalame Town. The Song I s About A Man Nicknamed Sigalame Who Lived In Bungoma Town And Was Engaged In UnderHand Business. Visit Bungoma Town And Chepkube Market Near The Kenya-Uganda Border. You Will Hear The Sigalame Story.
Unafika home after trekking miles from school( jua Kali lunch hour) boom! Mama hana food ya kuwalisha wanawe ila maji kavu..pale redioni huyo Omuga " sigalame background"
For your information, this is a true story. Sigalame existed and no one knew what he was doing. He was the wash wash person of those days. Compare sigalame to the rich guys whom you never knew what they did for a living. Source have it he was smuggling things into and out of the country through the border. It's a true story.
it is said that sigalame was a coffee smuggler at the now ghost border town of Chepkube at the Kenya-Uganda border. The roots of the easy money culture in kenya
It's also said that he got mad rich from coffee smuggling at chepkube and eventually fell in love with mama hersi. Funny this is that he lost all his money to the said lady. 😂
He actually got rich from dubious coffee deals from Ugandan farmers who couldn't export their coffee due to a sanction during the Idi Amin era. Chepkube was a prominent crime scene in coffee stores around the border.
If time was place I could have backed up my belongings and go back to 80s when music had meaning.
Waaah sigalame wa leo ni wengi, mtu anaenda kazi harudi nyumbani. Kumbuka hili kwamba unapofanyia kazi huzikwi hapo utazikwa kwenu.. Tembea mitaani

Sigalame took part in the smuggling of coffee on the Kenya-Uganda border in the 80s. It’s a true story.
Actually the black market was known as Chebukube
So that's the reason why he ignored family
The Black Gold of Chepkube
Remembering with nostalgia Muziki wa adhuhuri na Charles Omuga Kabisae. The Kbc airwaves through my late dad Sanyo African Radio
Some nice old feelings
I can relate
We must be from the same generation. We too had a Sanyo radio
Or National Panasonic.
@@judewabwire4087Exactly! These were original radios and not like the fake words we have today like "SONI" instead of "SONY" 🤣😂 etc...!
