This distillation is an excellent introduction for a newcomer. I enjoy sharing with others my old pens when out and about and their sense of wonder can be too easily squashed with too much info.
Videos like this help me decide which vintage pen should pair with my 70-year-old Aurora 88K. I don't draw, I don't do calligraphy: I just write. And I do it with the 7 pens I have (I'm not a collector). So a new pen will be vintage for sure. Thank you!
@@kassander1304 great! I’ve been collecting for 40 years and haven’t found a sheaffer filigree. At pen shows, I see them, but I tend to like my filigree pens to be waterman’s.
give me a vintage Esterbrook model SJ w new/old stock 9128 EF flexible nib: my pen is English w navy blue/black vintage plastic - just perfection imho:)
@@anguswhite8233 a flex Esterbrook nib is a good one for sure, but pretty rare! Esterbrook pens, in general, are of very good quality, especially if fitted with the 9000 number series nibs. Avoid the 1000 series nibs if you can.

Great video, Pier! :)
I love your videos pen whisperer
Get a VINTAGE Parker 51; they write very well!
I have a Sheaffer Self-filling gold filigree pen from the 1920s with excellent flex, inherited from my wife's grandmother. It writes amazingly.
