  • Steven A. Worthy, author, lecturer multimedia artist presents "The Kress Family Legacy" as part of his 60-framed photographs exhibition at the Ossining Arts Council Steamer Gallery. His 400+ page plus footnotes and references, "Heads of Bronze, Hearts of Gold: The Kress Family Legacy" details the 700-year journey of the Kress family from Kraftshof, Germany in the 1300s, to Five and Dime Magnates at S. H. Kress & Company to European Art Collectors and Philanthropists as "Founding Benefactors of the National Gallery of Art" in Washington DC, is covered in extensive detail with never-seen-before photographs given to him by Kress family relatives and friends (including many from St. George's Church in Kraftshof, where many Kress ancestors lay buried) and blessing from Max Marmor, Past President of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, who endorsed Steven as "The most knowledgeable person on the American branch of the Kress family". He closes with a performance of "She Said, She Said," the Beatles tune inspired by a meeting with Peter Fonda at the end of their last tour in America, referencing Peter's accidental shooting at Rock Hill Estate (now Cedar Lane park) in Ossining New York. Samuel H. Kress was the only person Time Magazine claimed as "Collector No. 1!"
