Okie was pure love. He gave the best baby Alpaca kisses ever. He was so darned adorable and full of life, it is hard to believe he is really gone. It was heartbreaking to see Annie so upset and obviously looking for her precious baby Okie. Poor Ernie has gone through so much. Losing his son had to be devastating. Thank God you took Ernie along to Texas A&M. Not only to save his own life, but to comfort Okie on the journey. Ernie is such a good dad. I am sending love and prayers for Ernie and for you all.
Wendy here, watching from Winnipeg.......Jami would love our -40 winter weather. I would like to know why that cold doesn't kill any of our damn insects....they always manage to come back in the spring.
There was a news video about a Texas Rancher having cows dying like crazy. Their water source is the pasture pond, which was really nice. After doing testing on the grass, soil, and pond water, it came back with Blue Algae in the pond and it kills the cows pretty quick. They said it’s better to treat the pond and remove algae so that it doesn’t have an environment for the blue algae to form. He was talking about how much money he had lost in livestock, testing and treatments and he said from here on out he will treat the pond whether it needs it or not. And I got to thinking about your back pond at J❤️L. He said that on his pond, which looked as clean as the pond at LHL that he was shocked at the test results because he said from looking at the pond, he couldn’t tell anything was wrong. Anyways, I wanted to share because I don’t want to see anything happen to our longhorns babies. ❤😊
That’s horrible about the cows. I live in the southeastern corner of Washington state and the town I live in is right along the Columbia River. It’s a wonderful place to take our dogs for swimming but we have the blue algae all along the river now and it kills dogs. So I haven’t been taking my dog for her swimming, which she absolutely loves. It’s horrible how many dogs & other animals die each year from this.

In that news video, it said for people with farms and ranches to treat ponds even if it doesn’t have it because it prevents it from having the environment for it to grow. I wondered if it would be a good idea for Lester to also put a solar water fountain in the center of the ponds to keep the water flowing.
Okie was a sweet heart! But God said it was his time. You have to think about it this way he did not die in Vain. He is still teaching you many lessens. Okie is with you every day in spirit.

Sorry for the loss of little Okie Dokie, he was such a beautiful soul. I am praying for Ernie to be able to fight and heal from this. I was gone on vacation to Missouri at the time this all happened. I actually found a Buccee's in Springfield spend almost $200 there. My husband, myself, and my 88 yr old mother, none of us had ever been to one before. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes Jami, we deworm our horses every 2 mos. BUT, we rotate. Ivermectin, Fenbendazole (Panacur or SafeQuard), ivermectin, then a Strongid for roundworms, then ivermectin, and so forth for 6 times a year. Prob too much as there are no other animals on their field, BUT all those wormers are safe (do not overdose) at recommended levels. Horses can pick up other wild animals poop, for instance opossums, and get EPM if too much ingested.
Would Alpacas eat Cream of Wheat?...that is packed full of iron!! Thats how I fought chemotherapy! It's similar to grits...but packed full of iron/ferritin.

I’m all for birds, as long as they don’t poop in the drinking water for the others. I feel so bad for the others. I think an Okie shirt would be great near the Christmas season. Maybe in a color instead of black. Black is so hot in the summer.
Regarding the old days and OBGYNs, my great-grandmother was one of the first women doctors trained in Canada. She and her classmates were not allowed to take anatomy classes by their male teacher and when she started to practice, no man would go to a woman doctor but women would. So she ended up traveling at all hours in a horse and buggy to deliver babies. It was the only way for her to earn a living.
When I was 15, I was a baby having a baby. I had a male gynecologist that did a V exam on me at every appointment. 1x a month then every 2wks then once a week until I had my daughter. I didn’t find out until I was in my mid 20’s that it wasn’t normal to have a V exam at every visit. It bothers me to this day. I’m 48 now.
I was excited when I got the dr in the practice with the big hands to do my internal exam at the end of my pregnancy….ended up putting me in labor 😂🥳🙌🏻

Most animals don't show that they are sick. It is natural instinct for them not to show weakness to predators. Domesticated animals have lost some of that in the years of domestication.
This may sound silly but I think this could kill the parasites that are in paddocks or dry lots. If you move the animals out of one of the areas could you cover the ground in something that would burn all of the bad parasites on the surface? In a couple days could they go back there and be ok? Would that cause more health problems for them? I'm not a farmer so if this is a dumb idea just ignore it and carry on. You all are the best.

Please don’t blame yourself you guys you are giving those animals the best life possible you go above and beyond for care on those animals you can’t prevent what you don’t know it’s a learning experience for you too. I do wish we had access to your basic brand merch year round. I think k a lot of us would purchase whether there is a specific incident or need for fundraising. I have to buy clothes. I wear t shirts and sweatshirts daily if around the house and most of the time when I leave the house. I have to reluctantly buy some ridiculous looking t shirts from some big company. I would much rather send my money in a direction I choose and approve of. I would love knowing some of my money ended up helping one of your babies. I would love to regularly wear your brands.

Most animals don't show that they are sick. It is natural instinct for them not to show weakness to predators. Domesticated animals have lost some of that in the years of domestication.

This may sound silly but I think this could kill the parasites that are in paddocks or dry lots. If you move the animals out of one of the areas could you cover the ground in something that would burn all of the bad parasites on the surface? In a couple days could they go back there and be ok? Would that cause more health problems for them? I'm not a farmer so if this is a dumb idea just ignore it and carry on. You all are the best.

Please don’t blame yourself you guys you are giving those animals the best life possible you go above and beyond for care on those animals you can’t prevent what you don’t know it’s a learning experience for you too. Nobody blames you for Okey or Ernie getting sick or at least they shouldn’t shame on them if they do.
I do wish we had access to your basic brand merch year round. I think k a lot of us would purchase whether there is a specific incident or need for fundraising. I have to buy clothes. I wear t shirts and sweatshirts daily if around the house and most of the time when I leave the house. I have to reluctantly buy some ridiculous looking t shirts from some big company. I would much rather send my money in a direction I choose and approve of. I would love knowing some of my money ended up helping one of your babies. I would love to regularly wear your brands.
