    I use to have the Panasonic HC-VXF990 BUT I changed it for the Sony AX53 as it showed up my slight shaking when handheld. Looks like it does the same on your footage you shot too. its very slight movements but it def shows. The AX53 is a great camcorder. I also had the AX100 too but overall with the BOSS system I decided to keep the AX53.

    I know this is an old video, but I still own the FZ2500. I bought it used about 2 years ago. I was really only experimenting and wound up keeping it. Amazing camera. I owned the g85 too but wound up selling it. I had too many cameras :) Sold off three in the past 6 months or so. Didn't sell it because it was bad, but only because I rely on my other ones more. It's so hard letting them go.

    I have had a 990 for ages and I then bought a AX53, I much prefer the 990 as it is fully controllable and the image is as good as any 4k camcorder for the same price. I will agree that the stabilization on the Sony is good but if I use the Panasonic with my 5 axis gimbal it is actually better (especially when walking). If I am just going for a walk and take a camera with me I always take the Panasonic (less gimbal) as it is smaller/lighter and will fit in my jacket pocket. The picture quality in 4k is the same in both IMHO but the autofocus is much quicker on the 990 and is a more user friendly camcorder than the Sony. I still have 3 of the older SD 900 camcorders that I still use in multi cam videos and although only HD they are still a brilliant camera that have full manual control, and are still gong strong after over 10 years of abuse filming groups and making adverts.

    I would like to see this comparison with more footage and in 4K. Any chance for this? Cheers, Bart

    Have the same decision, sort of; I have to decide which ONE of those cams to get. Love the FZ2000 [2500] but the newer Panasonic HC-WXF1 is pulling me to the dark side, i.e. camcorder.

    Is the autofocus better on the AX53 or the FZ2000? I wish to record my daughter doing rollerblading and jazz dancing and want the camera with the best ability to auto-track moving people, even if they are moving relatively quickly eg: running towards the camera...

    • @grantchin1526
      @grantchin1526 6 лет назад

      Mick Scarsbrook Thanks! The FZ2000 looks like amazing value with 1" sensor, built-in ND filters, good zoom range and still photos! IDK about the sensor crop when recording 4K video though...

    • @grantchin1526
      @grantchin1526 6 лет назад +1

      Mick Scarsbrook Yes, I'm very tempted to get the FX2000 but I consider myself to be more of an enthusiast than a 'prosumer'. At the same time though, I can imagine the AX53's lack of full manual control over shutter speed, aperture, etc. might be occasionally frustrating and I've heard that the fine control on the small zoom toggle isn't very good? Both the FX2000 and the AX53 are at the same identical price right now and the FX2000 seems to be the standout in terms of being the best bang for the buck. But I am primarily after a video camera that can do 90% of the focusing on auto as accurately as possible! My current camera is an aging Canon SX50 HS which still serves me well for photography, with the exception of occasional chromatic aberrations, but when filming in 1080p it loses focus on people a bit too often for my liking!

    I just bought the Sony A53 4K UHD, latest version I guess. Earlier this week I was at Mudeford Quay, Hants when 2 swans flew across in front of me. My Sony A7 was next to my new camcorder on the passenger seat, I knew there is NO WAY I'd have caught he video with it so I used the AX53, starts up almost instantly and as I opened the screen and lifted it skywards I hit the record button and YESSSSS I got the shot/video. No contest!
