Damn, he's really tough, hard-working mentality, which is common among champions.

Great podcast Brett! The Lochte vs Phelps era/rivalry got me into (watching) swimming... don't think we'll see 2 guys go head to head again like that! Maybe Phelps next on the podcast (let's hope so)?!

I love the fact that it's obvious Ryan's really stayed the same. If you've been a fan for a long time then you know the openess he has ans the sweet laugh. I'm glad he doesn't let certain things bother him anymore.

Your podcasts are always great with such insight. Will you be disecting the comm games? Ian Thorpe’s commentary is fab he was talking about turns vs wall touches which is more important!

Brett, Ryan said he did at least 10m underwater and in the final turn he did at least 15 meters. Would he have done 20 or 25 meters if the rules allowed him to do so. In your experience as a modern coach I am interested to know if the 15 meter is still relevant these days considering the backstroke world record decreased by several seconds since the introduction of the rule anyway.
In your own event, 50 m would you have been faster if instead of 15 m underwater you did 25m. Where is the break even point on the x, y chart.
    Thanks.
Good chat. Well done. Specially the fact the he stayed extra time to sign / take photos for everyone.

can he go to the world cup while not being on the national team? What are his paths? Is it by invite? When would we know?
