I saw John Play that in Bloomington, IN a few times. He passed through a couple times in the 90s when a friend of mine booked a club called the Wild Beet where I played occasionally. That friend invited me to hang out with John and his entourage between shows. When I told John how I enjoyed his music, he replied in his low voice, " Thank you, you're easily entertained."
I don’t know how this came up on my RUclips timeline. BUT WOW. Billy makes his guitar sing like I could only dream of. He is a genius with his guitar. Thank you Billy.
Billy has a great speaking and singing voice. His ability to sing like he's lived the lyrics sets him apart. He's incredible on guitar, and kudos to the banjo and bass players! The "Clarksville" instrumental was so tight!
Lang Waters not bluegrass just old fashioned country check out Colter Wall. He’s only 20 but sounds a Lot older on most his tracks I’m talking 50+ gravelly voice.
What ever billy does is find with me Some may feel different, but that's their loss. I'm not saying he's the best, I just never heard him do a bad song .
That Last Train to Clarksville, just put a big smile on my face. Thanks I needed that... maybe the best version of this dong I ever heard. Well since the Monkees.....
You are excellent, Billy. Don't really know how I found you, but I was looking around on my you tube videos and there you were!!!! Wow, and keep that little smile! 🌀
I mean wtf???? Let me repeat this douchebag....WHAT the FUCK? This babyboomer has been on the Billy Train for almost 5 years now. And there's plenty more great music out there : Sara Jarosz, Chris Thile, Paul Kowert, Jordan Tice, Brittany Haas, Michael Daves, the Stringdusters, Fruition, Lil Smokies, need I go on??? Do us all a big big favor and STFU.
X yourself out of existence ya myopic dipshit moron. Generation X??? LMFAO. That generation of Reagan, Coca Puffs, and Saved by the Fucking Bell #ownbeingajerkoff #youearnedit
Dammit! Ever since I heard y'all's music, I have been a slave to the guitar. Inspired big time. Trying to get my flatpickin' up to speed! Tips? Love what y'all are doing! Freaking love it!
Keep at it!!! I have been inspired by a lot of the new flatpickers these days! If you keep Doc Watson in your collection you will have a good foundation to work with! He is the reason Billy and Molly and many others are keeping Bluegrass alive!
Billy gets all the attention - He's a superstar - but by God his sidemen are phenomenal !
Wooyeee, Billy Strings is great, but Billy Failing is just as good on the banjo, such an under-appreciated picker!
The Whole band They is tight together

Billy Failing killing it on the banjo looking thoroughly bored while doing it
He gives off that old school bluegrass vibe. Stoic look, completely expression-less, while being a master at his craft
I love his banjo player ❤
@@Scoopy2702He’s went to the Berkley school of Music in N.Y. But I get what your saying. He doesn’t do drugs,Billy said he’s religious.
Bet he has the same expression when your on your knees in front of him.
Wowow Rock on Billy
I just want to thank Terry Barber
First I heard dust in a baggy been hooked ever since.
u and me both brother stumbled across a kid who carries the fire! hope he gets really recognized
Same dawg
Yeah me to
Your still here
You and everyone else
To the 79 people who gave a thumbs down...wtf is wrong with you?
Nothing, they just don't like it. There are many types of music oh American one 🤣
They're on a bad trip is my guess 😆.
They don't like anything. They're miserable, bitter and angry....
I want to hear him sing Last Train To Clarksville!
I wanted to hear the bridge. The "ditty-ditty-dee-ditty-ditty," part, on guitar.
Billy Strings has it all. the voice, the amazing guitar playing, and look. really hope this kid goes far bc he deserves it.
Ele já foi e está longe!!putz!! Génio puro! O Pai é igual!!!
Outstanding
Hi Billy 😍
What a shockingly good and welcome talent. What he chooses to play, how he plays it - he gets it all so right.
Still the best mashup on line. There’s a bunch of semi-homeless kids in Dublin almost catching up, but this is just gold.
Banjo dude killing it!!
Wow the banjo player killed it!
I know right, he's just looking around all relaxed while he's killin it!
Portland Oregon's own Banjo whiz.....Billy Failing!!
Billy NOT Failing
Billy Failing killing it with all the calmness of a serial killer
Hold it.. There was a spark of emotion at 3:00
I don’t know how this came up on my RUclips timeline. BUT WOW. Billy makes his guitar sing like I could only dream of. He is a genius with his guitar. Thank you Billy.
Great stuff...🙂👍
Silent Bob can really play a stand up bass
I thought it was Jonah friedlander
😂🤣
I like watching Billy Failings expressions lol. Just another day at the office haha. Incredible musician himself!
Dude is Awesome!👌
Billy Strings you’re a shining star!! 🌟
Yes!!!
I've heard progressive metal players say this stuff is simple. If ignorance is bliss they are the happiest people I know... keep on rocking 👍
Ian Anderson never said that.
In the acoustic world there is no distortion to hide behind. This kinda of music is bare bones.
Man, just found these guys, Billy is great, and the banjo picker just nails the crap out of it
DAMN... that's good medicine!
Who doesn't like this?!?!?!?!?
Matt McMurray...stuck up assholes
Not everyone likes the same things. Thank God.
This stuff is reviving my faith in blue grass!
Billy has a great speaking and singing voice. His ability to sing like he's lived the lyrics sets him apart. He's incredible on guitar, and kudos to the banjo and bass players! The "Clarksville" instrumental was so tight!
Can't wait to see Billy Strings, my second show in Asheville, October!!!
This is a fun song to pick!!!
Class absolutely class
He's just incredible. And you can tell he really loves what he does.
When you love what you do you give it your all and he is.
If it wasn't for You Tube, I wouldn't find great talent like this!
wish I could like this every time I watch it.. :)
I don't love everything I have heard Billy do, but I have yet to find anything I don't at least like. Just an immense talent. Keep 'em coming!
I dont love everything... I at least like....? Kinda left handed aknowledgements dont ya think? Lol
Hey. Nice initials
Well don't love everything I've heard from BMFS !!! Don't change his status as GOAT !!! js
Every time I'm drunk and my gf wants me gone . I play this, I'm gone now but I'm still here.
Lol that's Awesome
Keep that Bluegrass a comin
Cool Jam
I love how he always gives his other musicians credit! Rare anymore. .
He loves John Hartford. All Fall Down is also an awesome cover\
He is all pro!
@Hubert Cumberdale he mentioned the bassist at 0:23 Philip George (sp?) on the bass.
!ts called space !
Most honky tonk and bluegrass musicians are like that. Definitely a nice warm feeling when you acknowledge everyone....
Usual awesomeness...
This Dude. Is good
Billy you are FINE with me!!!
He sings this song with so much ATTITUDE AND HUMOR. I search for every performance of it, each one is a little different from rest.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Strings and group are a breath of fresh air. Newly moon (blue)grass !! Lol !
Mown
Amazing musicianship from all three. Wow!!
Love billy strings.....anybody else ever notice how many great songs there are about trains?...hmm .....I gotta write me a train song
Steve Goodman is the king writing train songs

Billy Strings - Amazing
Billy Strings is an incredible talent !
WOW!! Just found Billy. WTF?!?! 26 years old?!? Excellent.
Truly and old soul
Lang Waters not bluegrass just old fashioned country check out Colter Wall. He’s only 20 but sounds a Lot older on most his tracks I’m talking 50+ gravelly voice.

Mad skills to Clarksville, boom tune!
Goddam! That was cooking at the end! Yow!🎸🤪🤟
That Last Train to Clarksville, just put a big smile on my face. Thanks I needed that... maybe the best version of this dong I ever heard. Well since the Monkees.....
I love this kid. Covering John Harford...enough said.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Totally AWESOME 😎
What a fantastic talent. Only just discovered him & boy I'm so glad I did. I keep asking my old Tanglewood, why can't you do that?
That's it ! The Monkees needed a banjo!
Best . Best. Best.
Been seeing his name on you tube for awhile. Finally 2 days ago clicked on him. Great stuff hooked
I just want to throw my beloved guitar on the fire right now......I'll never play like this....outstanding
im annonymous. 😂 I can relate. (But I hope ya keep playing, while also enjoying these folks who play better than us)
You are excellent, Billy. Don't really know how I found you, but I was looking around on my you tube videos and there you were!!!! Wow, and keep that little smile! 🌀
Finally, a millennial playing some good music! Hallelujah!
Still, a baby boomer complaining about the generation he created! Predictable!
Your generation for the most part sucks harder than a black hole.
BTW, I'm Generation X.

Words cannot describe. If Davey Jones popped out and sang a few bars, I might have died. Billy plays all the strings.
great
Billy you guys are spot on
Mighty Fine , Mighty Fine! and that banjo picken. Wow, just Wow!
"Last Train to Clarksville" is my favorite clandestine anti war song.
That transition was awesome!
Love these guys - Larry, Darryl and Darryl
Dean Faklaris, only people of a certain age will get that reference. 😂
@@harlotteoscara686 ugh, I'm old now. How did that happen?
Magic country!!!!
Jamming slamming cramming clamming tune. Holy smoke I love this dab gum video.
Great performance and the Banjo was tops.
Dude, just listen to how tight these guys are. Not a single note out of time or place, hot damn.
Every concert is like that. Every song every note every night. Perfect 💯. I've only seen them 5 times got two more for this year
Ok. Love big fan. Cant go wrong being right.
Groovy tight and superior jams as usual :)
I am still here! And i luv u Billy! Never give up!
Last train to Clarksville
Great mix. Great tune . Great band.
Awesome job!
The three Billy's. Look out world!
They are very good keep it up
I wish I could transition songs like that. Talented dosen't start to describe these guys.
You can. You just gotta pull it out.. Kinda like gum throughout the song.
This song sounds like me in a lotof ways.
I don't look at videos but I LISTEN real close. And Billy is one of the Best
dang yall; are tight....
GOD BLESS YOU: YOU ARE GREAT
Could hear hints of Last Train throughout... Love how he brought it to the fore
Aw hell yeah
Just killer, , I've never liked the sound of banjo for some crazy reason but I must say I LOVE all of what that guy just played there!
When I run across someone who doesn't like banjo, I recommend the bluegrass tribute album "Pickin' on Pink Floyd"
Dude that lick at 3:15 or around it. Wow. Great progression.
My kinda music
Awesome cover of the Monkees!
Gold
I get goosebumps
Amazing mash up of the Monkees song. Thats really impressive.
Just seen this one, keep them coming Billy " The Kid" Strings !! Blue grass master !!
This guy is fantastic
I have listed to this song over and over again and I'm still here.
Dammit! Ever since I heard y'all's music, I have been a slave to the guitar. Inspired big time. Trying to get my flatpickin' up to speed! Tips? Love what y'all are doing! Freaking love it!
