Just in time for bed time😌
I've been trying to convince myself to get back into really quiet bedtimes. Stretching and a bit of yoga, gently and slowly brushing my hair, really taking the time to moisturise, and I've had such a mental wall for it
But tonight I was looking for something to put on as I got ready and I saw this and thought
Yeah, I'll take the time to look after myself with that in the background

Recently I've been reading a lot more poetry whereas before i mostly just read novels.
I bought a collection onlind for the first week when i got pre order of "Closer Baby Closer" by Savannah Brown
When ASMRtists do novel readings i always get too caught up in the narrative and i don't find them too relaxing, but with poetry, its all a lot more soothing and peaceful imo.
So I'm delighted that you made a poetry reading video, this is one of those vids I'll definitely be having on repeat before bed for the next week or so!

I recently did a deep dive on Greek lyric poetry, including Sappho.
I can almost guarantee you that the very short fragments are part of much longer poems, however you can still enjoy the little fragments as beginnings of meditations, like Haiku. Many of these fragments were found as damaged papyri, often in the Sahara of all places.
Compared to other Greek lyric poets, Sappho was relatively plain and blunt. This is why she is the most read of the lyric poets; she is the most relatable and readable to us modern people.
The translation used here is one of the less literal and more altered ones. Most other translations will be a bit closer to what Sappho actually said. However this translation also is the most elegant I've come across.
