When I played college ball, my coach would always praise me for having a short and direct swing to the ball. But I feel like that's why I would struggle against guys throwing in the high 80s. My path was too short, I didn't give my bat a chance to make contact when I was either late or early, I had to be on time almost every time. I wish I knew this while I played in college.
Love your videos. Can u do a breakdown of Dansby Swanson's swing? His swing looks very handsy to me. It's very helpful to see guys doing it right, but maybe more helpful to see guys swinging differently than you recommend. My son's swing looks nothing like any MLBer, and seeing you correct someone else's swing can help us trust more what we are seeing with our own children's swings.
Matt thanks for all the really great videos. So every one in the minors are signed by a major league team and not everyone makes it to the majors. When do those players who are not major leaguers realize they are not ever going to the show. What are their mindsets and how do they deal?
Miguel drives the knob toward the approaching ball. AND ... You missed the most important WORD about Miguel's swing. The WORD is HANDS! You did not say it even once! For most great hitters, it is all about the HANDS. They hit with their hands and the bat is just an extension of the HANDS. From this angle, the action of his shoulders is the result of what he is doing with his HANDS.
That swing is a thing of beauty, it looks so effortless.

Very true also applies to golf or other similar throwing type motion
