Hi bro, you found the treasure of Chinese Rock music. Love your professional comments! This concert was held after Wong Ka Kui died several years. The bass player is Ka Kui’s younger brother. That’s why he was extraordinarily emotional when singing the song written by his brother. Looking forward to seeing more reactions on Ka Kui’s performance, who is our yyds!
@@spiderhandspnz thanks for sharing your comment on this song. I have been listening to this song since middle school, but I never really liked it until now.
The guy singing in this performance instead of the lead singer who had past away, was his younger brother,. He was also the member of the band. The lead singer Huang, was the soul of the band. He was the legend in those days. He died in an accident of falling from very high stage onto the floor in Japan, when they just started their career outside Hong Kong. Sad!
Great thanks for reviewing this song. It's a song which has great influence on a whole gerneration in China(born between 1970-1980). The singer Mr.Wong Ka Kui had not only talent on his music, but also his lyric inspire us to go forward and be strong. When I had some difficuties, this song gave me power and let me stood up. It is more than a song but like a belief for me. Again thank you very much for your professional comments, I can see your empathy and you do really understand this song.
Hi Jack Zhang, you're totally welcome. I'm glad that this song means so much to you, and that Mr Wong Ka Kui was so positively influential, during his time. And yeah - those were real emotions! Such a beautiful song. Have a great day!
His power as his name said beyond, beyond voice, beyond nation and age. Even I am very young and before I was born he has already passed away ,but I can also feel him and get touched. Thank you for recommending.

He, Wong Ka Keung was especially emotional as he was KaKui 's younger brother . Still traumatic for him n his fellow band members as they saw Ka kui fall n dying from his head injuries days later in the hospital . Would take some years for him to get over his brother unexpected tragic demise. Which is why he found it hard to sing that line of the song lyrics with the words " fear I will fall down" and his voice broke down at that moment. Btw pple did wonder if this line in the song was somehow prophecy or premonition by Kakui as he died in the same year he wrote n recorded the song.
Every time the music plays, i feel like crying. This song has so many different deep meanings for different people at different times even after so many yrs.
This song is an anthem and a classic. Beyond is one of, if not the best band in the Chinese/Cantonese music realm. They're rockstars. Stunning, soul touching music which we don't get very much these days anymore. What a tragedy, such loss of great talent. Listening to Sea and Sky always, always brings tears to my eyes. Beyond is the legendary live band in HongKong, the leader Wong Ka Kui is the soul of the band. He was composed plenty of songs about the reality, culture, humanities etc. Every song are full of meaning and has it own soul. I recommend "AMANI" and "光輝歲月" to you. This two songs are full of meaning, even many years passed, they are still good. As the band about to sour high, their leader Huang died at his prime in Japan. what a pitty.
Many people thought that the lyrics of the song had a curse, because there was a paragraph in the lyrics that said he was afraid of falling. Not long after the song was released, he really fell and died. The song became a posthumous work

I don’t know if this is what you’d be into, but another song with an enjoyably long guitar solo is Norwegian Forest (by Wu Bai and ChinaBlue), I personally liked the live version collab with Mayday for the sheer number of guitars involved. (Link: ruclips.net/video/ShYLgpfW7aU/видео.html) Also R.I.P. to Wong Ka Kui. My mother introduced me to BEYOND when I was a teenager and they blew me away. Cantonese is a very musical language as it has more tones (well, in comparison to Mandarin I guess, which is the only other Chinese language I know 😅) and well-written lyrics will sound almost song-like even when just read aloud, as the tones of each word lines up more or less with the rise and fall of the melody, which I thought was very cool.

Yeah! I have to admit - it's been a wild time, but he did eventually link to my material, which I do appreciate, and have thanked him for. I'll be making a video about this, at some point, because I think that it'd be good to look at how this all started :)

Where's the solo goes. There's another RUclipsr brings me here. Hope you can review another Beyond's song named Glorious Years(光輝歲月) which dedicated to Nelson Mandela. Thanks
The vocal in this video (green T-Shirt) one is the true brother of Wong La Kui. Thus he is very emotional when singing this song. ( In fact , also for other band members)
the concert is called live and basic, only the band and the instrument on stage, striping anything else is because there was a lot of doubt to the 3 remain members of the band, the lead singer Ka Kui was the brain, the leader, the soul of the band, most of beyond's song are composed by him, and this was also the time they released a new album which is thru and thru beyond style/spirit, now only Paul Wong carry on creating music, he is the godfather of band scene in Hong Kong. Beyond influence a lot of people because how diverse of idea in Ka Kui's era, the care about grassroot community, the desire for freedom in Hong Kong/ China after tiananmen square massacre, dissing bad behave media/awards

beyond…
Music Is Universal!!!
I hope that the world will no more racists, no more war, no more disaster.
STAY HOME, STAY SAFE.
Hi there Jong Chian Ching! I totally agree with you on that.
Chinese fans coming
Hi there! It's nice to talk to all these new people!
I love it T. T
SENG Fishing - welcome to the channel! Glad to hear that you loved the review! More to come :)
You should also check out another legendary HK band called Tat Ming Pair (達明一派),active almost the same period as Beyond did. Probably start with it’s song “story of the stone(石頭記)”. One of its members, 劉以達 (mr Lau) , is also a great guitarist and talented composer.
Yes!Please check out “Tat Ming pair”, The composer 劉以達(Tats Lau)is very talent! Their songs are also having great significances. PLEASE!!!
You had done another review of this song earlier this year, with a different live performance of it, right?
Correct! I hadn't reviewed that song on this channel, though - so I am glad that I have, now. It's such a good song that I can listen to it twice.
This live version is impossible to surmount, watched many many times😭😭😭
Ka ku, can you see? so many people miss you., I dare to say from all over the world. Hopefully you be grateful and RIP
If possible, I think you may have “不是柯桑德” a treat, he brought so many of us Chinese fans for you after all
Yeah! I have to admit - it's been a wild time, but he did eventually link to my material, which I do appreciate, and have thanked him for. I'll be making a video about this, at some point, because I think that it'd be good to look at how this all started :)
Good
Thank you!
@@spiderhandspnz maybe you two can start a new channel together, to do Chinese music review only. It would be fair for both of you~
@@spiderhandspnz I think 桑德 would like to work together with you for some music review video occasionally! (I saw him promoting your channel). Your review is so good and professional and 桑德 is so funny and even translate your music review in an attractive way. I think you can keep your version of music review in your channel and give him a copy of your review video. Then you may gain more followers or more source of incomes lol (some percentage from 桑德 haha). Anyway, hope you two would open to the co-op! Looking forwards!
Where's the solo goes. There's another RUclipsr brings me here. Hope you can review another Beyond's song named Glorious Years(光輝歲月) which dedicated to Nelson Mandela. Thanks
I would love to review more Beyond! I will probably review this song in September, I think, if that works for you :)
The vocal in this video (green T-Shirt) one is the true brother of Wong La Kui. Thus he is very emotional when singing this song. ( In fact , also for other band members)
My favor Chinese Rock Band
hi Pk Kuo - that's great to hear!
Fans coming from bilibili🥳
Yes, it's been a great time! Thank you.
It’s not just a song for chinese. Something huge behind
the concert is called live and basic, only the band and the instrument on stage, striping anything else is because there was a lot of doubt to the 3 remain members of the band, the lead singer Ka Kui was the brain, the leader, the soul of the band, most of beyond's song are composed by him, and this was also the time they released a new album which is thru and thru beyond style/spirit, now only Paul Wong carry on creating music, he is the godfather of band scene in Hong Kong. Beyond influence a lot of people because how diverse of idea in Ka Kui's era, the care about grassroot community, the desire for freedom in Hong Kong/ China after tiananmen square massacre, dissing bad behave media/awards
if subtitles can be included in this video it would be much appreciated. as quite a lot terminology is used in your talking :)
Hi Roy, thanks for your feedback! I plan on putting subtitles into my reviews of Chinese artists, in future. The next one will be a review of Jay Chou's album, out next week.
Beyond was the Beatles to Asia!
Heck yeah!
Come from bilibili.
You are very popular there,dude.
Hi GaJnk, thanks for letting me know! Sander mentioned that I should probably go check out Bilibili, so I will, soon.
I like your video very much and I don’t mind listening to English. However, I can only understand some parts of what you said. Could you please speak a little bit slower? Or put some subtitles in your video? I can read both Chinese and English. 🙏 🙏 🙏
Hi Daisy, thanks for the message! Thanks for letting me know that you want subtitles, I am getting some put into future videos of reviews like this. I will also try and slow down.
The volume of this song is too low, and the listening experience is not so good. By the way, I like your cooperation with “不是柯桑德”, with your comments, his translations and exaggerated expressions. really good.
Hi Pengfei Luo - I am sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the listening experience! This whole "video review" thing is something that I'm still improving on.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed those collaborations! Unfortunately, there won't be any more videos like that, as we've decided to go our separate ways.
If videos like this one aren't to your tastes - I respect your opinions and views. either way - thanks for visiting the channel, and have a good day.
@@spiderhandspnz To understand your video, I really need to start learning English.
he is not huang ka kui . he is borther
This is true! I made a mistake here - sorry about that!
Beyond!
Where is the guitar solo go! Where is the guitar solo go! Bro, We really miss you.
Bbz Bbz, that was a phenomenal guitar solo. I wish to hear more!
😭😭😭😭
you believe or not...I am GamingTZ..😎
Chao Zhang / Gaming TZ! My friend! Welcome to the channel, and cheers for getting me to review this song!
I'm from Bilibili, it's not easy, hahha...cuz it is hard to land youtube in china. i really like your reaction videos and hope you can give a reaction about 腾格尔--《天堂》
Thank you for coming to visit! The difficulties are why I have set up a Bilibili channel, which now appears to be doing okay. I have added your recommendation to the review list - cheers for that, and have a good day!
His name is Wong Ka Kui
Thank you for clarifying that for me!

I have seen your comment of Chinese singer on 不可柯桑德 channel.
I like your view and you provided a different view of the song.
You did not just focus on the signer skill and the lyrics.
You also commented on musical instruments and the performance stage. I really like that.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You’re very well. We neeed caption,, text explain
Yes, I'm sorry! I will try to include subtitles on all the videos, once the channel grows a bit bigger.
I can't exactly understand my
English isn't that good
@@spiderhandspnz keep going in your own way.
You have many fans in BiliBili.. not everyone can visit RUclips in China
Thank you! Yeah, 70k fans now, which is pretty ridiculous. Just gotta keep up the reviews. I may even be doing some other types of videos too, soon :)
came from your collaboration video in China, pity that you don't do it anymore.... the other guy.they found later is not as.professional as you
Hi there Jianing Li, thanks for visiting this video!
Sorry to hear about the other guy - I'm sure that they'll figure things out soon.
On the plus side - I genuinely enjoyed the music that I listened to during those reviews. Because of this, I will be putting out reviews for some of the artists that I had a great time listening to - like a review of Jay Chou's debut album (which is (hopefully) coming out next week!) - so hopefully there'll be some stuff for y'all to enjoy, in future.
@@spiderhandspnz so happy to hear that! worth the effort to climb the 🤗
