Darius is one hell of a human being!! What a wonderful person. He does charity with St. JUDES Hodpital for Children and is just a real down to earth guy! Love him!!
Darius, I have been following all your videos since I saw your Undercover Boss episode which was totally awesome. Your Rucker's renovation videos spell it all out, your new home is absolutely stunning, hats off to your design teams. It must be a hell of a feeling to drive down the streets of Charleston with the top down on the caddy and have everyone waving as you drive by. The city of Charleston looks like you could eat of the streets it's so clean and manicured. I am a retired trucker from Long Island and before I die I am definitely going to visit your beautiful city and hopefully knock on your door to shake your hand. I wish you all the best in life bud, you deserve it.
I would ditch the TV and kept the mantle natural wood and matched it in the stools. Adds a touch of warmth. This house is a huge project…beautiful home.
Thank you for sharing all of this with us.. I'm planning a trip to Charleston to visit my daughter and she said yes Mom I will take you by Darius's house and stuff he has done in Charleston. She knows he is #1 all time favorite singer ever..Can't wait.. If ever I can get my wish to meet Darius I'm hoping it's in his home town..I know he has a few favorite restaurants and my daughter works at 1, That would almost fulfill my bucket list, being I'm 4th stage MBC only God knows when it's my time and I pray I get this 1 wish... 🎉❤😊
Oh yes everything is good here..beautiful home and all..everything would look great in the end bless God...lord have mercy can i come for lunch wow!!!!!!
I JUST LOVE DARIUS RUCKER...I LOVE ALL OF HIS MUSIC/SONGS. GOD BLESS DARIUS RUCKER. I LOVE OLD HOMES ALSO...I WILL TRY TO FOLLOW THIS HISTORIC MANSION TRANSFORM. GOD BLESS!!
I LOVE the history of this property. It’s a truly beautiful and historic nod to our history. I absolutely LOVE the kitchen. The kitchen (whole house, but for now, the kitchen)ceiling height is massive but yet cozy enough for everyday life. She absolutely picked great finishes. Damnit, Mr. Rucker- I’m here for ALL of it!!
I hear SC is a nice, cheap place to retire. Darius seems SO down to earth. They did a GREAT job on his new crib. Loved it! I wonder how much that renovation cost? Great video! I love Darius.
Gorgeous, bright and so historical with tall ceilings, a big porch , fireplaces and I so appreciate that your not going to modernize it. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Wow it’s quite elegant. I sure hope you enjoy every moment here with your family and friends. Thank you for investing in the future of your home town by safeguarding a piece of its history. And I love your voice Darius!
Darius, I not only love your music abilities but wow, the history along with the renovation is magnificent. I am a history lover and also in love with all types of renovations. Celebrating with you on this endeavor. Extraordinarily gorgeous.
@@alika207 Aloha Alex! Yes! Born in Honolulu, and I am of Hawaiian blood! This series is what Aina means to Hawaiians. You nurture and treasure your home! Darius is doing just that! Malama Aina ! Care for your home and it will take care of you! ❤️😬✊🏾
Wow what a project restoring that beautiful old home. Now I’m thinking I have to look back in the video because I can’t remember seeing the refrigerator. I love the marble on the island and backsplash and the idea of making the cabinets look like a furniture piece.
So Beautiful. You have your silver spoon, a castle and a masterpiece!!!! I love your music and you are such a good person. I couldn't get tickets to the Alpharetta Ampitheater for this tour but I hope there will be more concerts in the future!!! Keep Singing
What a beautiful and professional story of renovation of your house. I didn't understand all what you talking , i am russian. But process are exciting.
I missed this last night but looked for it today and I will keep watching to see how things turn out. So far so good. The kitchen came out great but those other lights would have looked better. The ones she picked looked to modern. Love it Darius. Hugs. Nice big family home.
Wondering how much you guys had to work with the preservation society of Charleston? When we visited the city, we were told the rules were very strict...it's a beautiful home!
I’m wondering if the stone around the fire place is real or a temporary addition. It looked like the seams don’t match and the color doesn’t seem right 🤔 Everything else is perfect 🤩
Absolutely! We'll be posting new episodes of Rucker's Reno on Mondays at 8/7c. Keep watching for the renovation of the dining room, living room, the master suite, a special music room and more!
I live in Charleston also and it's okay but not as nice to live in if ur not rich tbh if u don't have money then ur not gonna like living in Charleston.
Fireplace in kitchen would have looked nice in old brick…(dont like white surround) and would have been a nod to the age of house…lights a bit overpowering in my opinion …gorgeous house
Really wish there was a deeper exploration about a black man choosing to buy and renovate a house built by enslaved people in a town who's weath historically came from the buying and selling of human beings that looked like him. Interesting that he feels most at home in this location and with the ancestors of the perpetrators of this massive crime. Why were there not more perspectives from black citizens and historians? Fascinating. Also need to correct that it's not correct or proper to call people who were kidnapped for labour slaves as it puts the owness of the crime on the victims and not the perpetrators. They were people who were enslaved. However the failure to understand this makes this entire episode make sense.
JM, do you not realize you keep racism alive with those statements & questions you ask in your comment? I never even considered what you are saying when I watched this. The past is the past and it's not going away-EVER. Lots of people have been enslaved and clearly still are. MANY slaves were /are white. People who enslave do not discriminate--sure they enslaved many black people years ago but that was in the past. We live in 2022 now. Let it go so you can let go of anger.
There is a house that was bought in VA that was on CBS that a black man bought and his family turns out were slaves on that plantation. It is amazing the aspect they had of the purchase when interviewed. Tragedy and dark time in history but they are renovating and plan on family get togethers there. Not forgetting the horrible history but almost a victory that they own the property now. They are keeping parts open to document the enslaved people there, in particular the slave quarters, and they are talking about all the great family get togethers they will have there. I will try to find the link to interview. It was on national news.
I used to live in Charleston and the history of the city is magical. I’ve seen this house a few times.
I admire all the ways Darius has kept reinventing himself. Pop star, County star and now TV home renovations in his unique hometown. 👏 👏 👏
I love you Darius. I would love for you to come to Toronto Canada to perform. You are llike a bottle of fine wine.
Mr.Rucker 💋 You Deserve The Best ! You Are So Caring And Giving To So Many People !!! I Thank God For Blessing You “ ENJOY “ Your New Home 🍾🎊🍾🎊❤️

Holy crap my aunts in this
Will we see the renovations of the other rooms?

What is the name of the company where the kitchen light pendants were sourced from?

Maybe it’s because he’s moved on and is living in the present not the past.
Black people take pride in reclaiming the houses and lands that our ancestors toiled.
JM, So, ignore the history, take down the house, and rebuild with substandard construction. Would that make you feel better?

Why did they ruin that mantle!!!!???? Everything else is nice but they should have kept the natural marble of that mantle! History ruined! 😡
