Learn how to play Springsteen's live acoustic version of 'The Promised Land' via this easy to follow guitar lesson, complete with pro tab. I've based this version on the charity version he did for the company 'One'. This video will show you all the chords, strumming and rhythm parts needed to play this great Boss track. This song can be played both on the acoustic and the electric guitars.

Song structure is in the description. Forgot to put it in the video!
Good lesson. Pretty sure The Boss tunes the high E down to F natural (with the capo on third fret G natural a whole tone down to F natural). Try it and see if you agree. This emphasizes and brightens the F natural drone that plays throughout the song. Brilliant performance of one of the best Springsteen tunes.
Thanks Expound now! Glad you enjoyed the video! Haven’t checked out that tuning but will take a look thanks!
Ten times out of ten, playing a Bruce Springsteen song while wearing a Replacements T-Shirt will make you the coolest person in the room.
Brian Twiss haha thanks Brian! Love The Clash as well!
Once again, thank you for your hard work. This is an incredible video and a dream come true. You are a great teacher.
Thanks so much Ragnar!
Delighted to have found your channel. A lot of work and new chords ahead but this channel is exactly what I need. Thanks a million from a Bruce fanatic.
HI Killerkev999. Glad you're enjoying the videos!! A lot more to come!

Thanks so much for the lesson! Can’t wait to play it
When you say you’ll put the song structure up, it doesn’t go on my screen. Maybe something’s wrong?
Jackson Fanger yes sorry realised I didn’t put it up on the video. It’s in the description though 😫
Bruce Springsteen guitar thank you so much! Have a good week!
Jackson Fanger No problem. You too!
Great sounding Takamine - what model is it?
Hi Mulvennk. Thanks for watching. It's a Takamine EG520S. Not too expensive either but great sounding!
I’m pretty sure he was using an alternate tuning in this live Camden version EADGBD capo 3
Love the channel 👍
Is this the version from the one he did on the barge in London?Very good lesson .
Imgladimhere klitschko Yep that’s right! Have simplified it as much as I could! Glad you enjoyed the lesson and thanks for watching!
What harmonica key is correct for this version ?
Hi Craig. The song is in the key of F major :)
Can you do blinded by the light please?
Hi Tom. Thanks for watching. I’ve added it to the list :)
@@BruceGuitar thanks mate👍
I'd like to see it too. While the film is in cinemas would be good. Maybe based on the VH1 acoustic version. Cheers.
Gary Hudson Good idea Gary. Also I saw you on a fb thing on reviewing the Bruce film the other day!!!
Bruce Springsteen guitar Yes, it was the Badlands screening and the director just showed up and wanted reactions. It was an odd edit of what I said but I was chuffed to be part of the "official" promotion. I'm enjoying these videos by the way, and I was pleased when I was approached by a guy at an open mic who asked me if I'd seen them. He was impressed by your Moonlight Motel (as was I). I've been playing it at home, but I haven't got the voice to try it in public. I haven't watched them all so I'm not sure if you're already tackling the open tuning versions of some of the Broadway songs, but that would be nice if they're not already here. Keep up the good work.
Awesome stuff any chance your could to lucky town or human touch? Please
Robbie Forster Thanks Robbie! The request list is closed at the moment as have got so many in the queue. However Human Touch is already in the queue so will add your name for a shout out in the video so stay tuned! Got quite a few in the list so could be a while but stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
@@BruceGuitar thanks mate sounds epic
Hey!! You should open a channel to teach traveling wilburys songs!! I think it could be popular and verte usefull
Interesting Leon! Yes they've got some great stuff.
Is this standard tuning?
Antonio Scancariello Yes this is standard tuning Antonio. Thanks for watching!
I can't find the tutorials you are referring to.
Hi Steve. Here is the lesson I did on the album recording Promised Land ruclips.net/video/A-ht8aY76kk/видео.html . Here is the version i've based this lesson on ruclips.net/video/K8UjZczqJ7I/видео.html . Also the song structure is in the description. Does that help? Many thanks, James

For some reason all of your comments don't seem to be being posted on the video page itself. Maybe RUclips thinks it's spam. Thanks for sharing though :)
Ironically, most are RUclips links.
Gary Book Haha yes I know!
Another possible issue is that you are on the other side of the pond, so certain U.S. content might not make it to the U.K. But thank goodness, the great work of another Brit doing American music gets to us. It is terrific how the English absorbed American music and the great black American culture and make it great and send it back to us in the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, etc. and your RUclips channel!
@@GaryBook Ah yes that could be one reason! Thanks again for the kind words. Yes it's awesome how us Brits love American rock and vice versa!
This is sooo good! :) My band are heavily influenced by Springsteen and we have just released a brand new music video! It would mean a lot if you could check it out and let us know what you think! :)
Merci Laurent Blanc
Thanks Laurent!
