Nice to see they added negro spirituals for portrait the slave situation the slugs were in. Also, i think the snake is a reference for some vodun or voodoo god, like papa legba or damballa (this last one is portrayed as a snake). This is so Louisiana culture
@@tristanband4003 as far as I know, that entities on particular (papa legba and damballa) were neutral deities. And I heard some devotes say that legba is a trickster, and it's not the only one. West African mythology is full of trickster deities
@@jeromewilliams8126 I think there is no full song( I was trying to find it too. There are only samples from zero-g vocal planet, so I took them and arranged in a form of a song like the one we all heard in the show.
Yes bro, this is a real person singing in a real language. These sounds were taken from a sample library, and the creators of Courage the cowardly dog just brilliantly put them together.
@@ТарасКулагин its quite the coincidence that this sounds a lot like Promise to meet me by Green Castle Homer, only thing is that song was released in 2013 apparently while courage the cowardly dog was in the early 2000's. I'm not sure if this was some old song which had bits and pieces here and there that the makers of courage decided to take when they went to that library. Honestly doesn't make sense to me how a song like promise to meet me was even released in 2013, seems a lot older
This playing in the background in the episode, had a surreal feeling, loved it.
Love it too
It's as if Im singing for my soul to be free...
This had me rocking back and forth one day, thinking about those times. I love music
Omg thank you!!! Ive been waiting on a video of the background singing for ages 😭💕💖
I get southern USA vibes listening to this
Like Louisiana vibes lol.
@@rocklee9987 It makes sense since it took place in a bayou.
@@rocklee9987 Mississippi as well but definitely LA fasho💯
I remember when I first saw this episode, this was the first thing I noticed, and it has stuck with me ever since! 😂😂 loved it!
I love that music, and I remember the song and the episode, and that's my favorite show 💖.

Granted, weren't the vodoun gods the friends of the enslaved and oppressed?

Lol 😢 it makes me think of slaves however the humming is funny
This ep was about some creatures who were kept as slaves. I think it was a reference to the past.
Thus is 💯 percent slave music My ancestors hummed like this when they pick cotton. But it meant something
