Initially when I was in NCC , in the second year of my NCC i get to know about SSB and ota, at starting I was curious to know but after Doing RDC 2022 I was convinced I want to be a Lieutenant , buy somewhere jn my heart I knew I like creativity art exploration, nature , spirituality,calm . It was the my parents who wanted me to be a officer at Indian army , what I was seeing was that people will praise me respect me after wearing that olive green uniform reality was or is that I don't wamt to do that it was for the society for the validation from friends and my parents and my relatives I was doing this but subconsciously I was trying to avoid it. There is difference between giving up and letting go so silently I let it go and chose what my heart wants , the work that I can do enjoying it loving it. I want to use my imagination my abstraction , my different perspective then anyone else's.

Sir is right. In those days after hitting lt col you become a desk jockey and work in command and control. But nowadays things have changed, due to shortage of officers in the army Lt cols and even colonels who are commanding officers lead ops from the front while being the man behind the gun.

I agree with him a 💯. There is a certain level of intelligence that is expected of a soldier in the army. If you’re past that threshold or exceed that threshold you’re not inducted. In the Army, you are expected to follow orders without questioning, without doubting, without thinking anything at all. If you are someone who has individual thoughts and opinions, you will not be inducted in the SSB interview. The whole reason behind not selecting so many people is that they exceed the level of intelligence required to be in the army. If I am to be politically incorrect and say it bluntly, the army needs doofuses who will follow orders and do anything their superior commands them to.

The buddy life with course mates and field operations in the valley are the first thing that one dies for in order to become an army officer. The star pipped olive green and societie's respect comes second. And the money and facilities come last always and every time.
