Considering the way Aleister talked about the #0 level 5 so casually, it seems he’s pretty much saying that person already exists. I have a theory that Touma has this rank already or will gain it at the end of the series. Reason why: Touma defeated Accelerator and also most importantly Aleister likely made this a rank that no one can know or achieve and that this person will deal with magic side attacks that decide to attack Academy City. Again Aleister’s conversation with Stiyl kind of implies it since he considers him a joker. Also in NT22R Anna pretty much implies this as well. Touma can defeat the strongest characters with broken abilities in the verse but get his ass whoop by weak fighters in terms of combat. I hope my man Touma does achieve this rank even if he hasn’t. Love those theory crafting videos. I have suspected the same myself for a while when it comes to Touma's ranking. There is plenty there to hypothesize and draw reasonable conclusions from those little bits of bread crumbs that are spread about through the series. Touma is far to convenient, used far too much, and way to involved for it to be simply mere coincidence as a whole. As sneaky, conniving, and underhanded as Allister can be I think it almost screams that Touma is that Zero. Time will tell. Unfortunately, "Time" is also our worst enemy. The longer it takes to reveal all, the more concerning it is that something may happen to cut it all short and not get everything wrapped up or revealed.
I think Aleister might have brought Touma to the Windowless building around the time he arrived in Academy City to do something to Imagine Breaker. Of course I feel like he would have had Anti Skill bring a young Touma to him personally.

It also makes sense to me why when Touma and Saint Germain have to switch with each other while Saint Germain uses Carbon magic/Diamond magic Touma suffers a lot he still survived the effect of using magic and Imagine Breaker while suffering the effect of AIM field and magic interacting with each other if we have seen other user using magic like Accelerator or Motoharu they need someway to heal themselves either through auto rebirth healing effect or blood manipulation by using vector to control the blood flow around it making it possible for the user to use magic also making the whole diamond exoskeleton for Touma doesn't really heal him from the magic side

Nah. Touma is actually the fabled Level 6. He's a transcendent being who, as his name suggests, has the power to purify God and exorcise the Devil, and has even developed a form of precognition through years of combat experience. No wonder the system scans can't detect nor register his powers, much less assign an accurate power level. Oh, and let's not forget his ability to capture the hearts of nearly every young woman he comes across. He's not the so-called God of pestilence his neighbors accused him of being in his youth. He's the God of womanly heartthrobs thanks to him being the primary vector of Kami Disease (most commonly transmitted via a manly punch to the face)!😂
So if Touma is secretly a level 5, in fact number zero, is Alister allowing Touma to participate in all these incidents his version of the program to create a level six? Accelerator needed to kill Misaka one or two hundred times or twenty thousand level three clones to evolve but that wouldn't work for Touma's power. If so the fact he developing a form of precog abilities hints that it could be working especially if his real esper powers are some form of precognition.
What about dragon shell? It is a power that manifested after the complete removal of imagine breaker. So if he had an esper power that was surprised by magic breaker, he couldn't use it. But if imagine breaker was removed, the suppression on his esper power would be removed as well. And that is when dragon shell has manifested.
Here's basically a crack theory that has a bit of merit if the entity inside imagine breaker is indeed Hadit which is basically a god of pure world if I am correct and since magic gods science equivalent is a level 6. Then does that mean touma is a level 6 since he basically has a magic god of pure world aka esper.
I honestly put more weight on the Rank Zero being the Beginning Child tbh. An Esper who is widely considered to be on par with a Level 5 strength-wise but that has never been formally tested under the modern Power Ciriculum being the prototype then going on ice before they could do so, would fit the criteria of an "unofficial" Level 5 you outlined. Her being in the position as the 0th Level 5 would also make sense from a pure rank perspective as the Ranking of Level 5's is meant to be dependent on the worth of their abilities to ongoing research rather than based on the relative strength of their power and as she served as the base from which the modern Power Curriculum was derived technically *all* research involving Espers is ongoing research based upon her abilities, hence her positioning in the Oth slot as something both above but also separate from the Numbered Level 5's. It all lines up for me but I would love to hear others opinions on the matter.

To be honest I don't think even Crowley know everything about Touma and his power but I wouldn't be surprise if Aiwass does because even now he is clearly still hiding things from everyone. Even hiding stuff from Anna because he didn't tell her that Crowley was still alive at the end of NT 22 which Crowley even bring up. Even this bird form of his is likely not his final form but it seen that how much of his power that a contractor had will determine his form . Likely if someone even more powerful then Anna was his contractor, his form would change again, likely too something even more powerful. While Touma can be the strongest level 0 esper, he is definitely not someone with any real esper power if he loses his right. Whatever is inside him, whatever is the right hand, whatever technique he learns or whatever knowledge he gains, the esper powers rules makes him unable to do anything without formulas and calculation far above his mind. That said, Touma fights against other low level espers or physical foes are irregular at best. He can lose a head on fight to someone just a bit better trained the same as he can get his blood loss body to defeat a full trained adult.
I believe that Aleister using magical concepts to create espers and science angels is no different than mages using math to create magic circles. Scientists using magical concepts are an unusual sight, because magic is hidden from the world. At the same time, since science is widely available, magicians using scientific concepts are a common sight. I'm not very good with magic but something like that was right? Using math to draw magic circles. Oh well. Even if I'm wrong, I'm sure there are other examples of Magicians using scientific concepts.
As an anime only, I just wanna ask a question. Why is there almost no adult espers if academy city has existed for so long? People grow up and eventually become adult. Is the mass production of esper children a more recent thing or do espers somehow lose powers when they become adult?
So when misaka and accelerator leaves the teenage years and become adults they will have their powers ripped away? Or since apparently accelerator is the new head of the city in the future, things might change.
Bc the esper program has only been existing and made successful for this generation actually, AC can strip you of your powers but the esper project itself didnt become stable until recently. Hence why everyone is still less than 20 or around them
All things considered it's possible, it's been showed he can transform into a dragon when his duplicate stole IB, then when Touma got it back the duplicate could transform as well. Maybe it's a power of IB or it maybe why Alister value Touma so much, the ability to control Dragon energy.

So if Touma is secretly a level 5, in fact number zero, is Alister allowing Touma to participate in all these incidents his version of the program to create a level six? Accelerator needed to kill Misaka one or two hundred times or twenty thousand level three clones to evolve but that wouldn't work for Touma's power. If so the fact he developing a form of precog abilities hints that it could be working especially if his real esper powers are some form of precognition.

It is a power that manifested after the complete removal of imagine breaker. So if he had an esper power that was surprised by magic breaker, he couldn't use it. But if imagine breaker was removed, the suppression on his esper power would be removed as well.
And that is when dragon shell has manifested.
Here's basically a crack theory that has a bit of merit if the entity inside imagine breaker is indeed Hadit which is basically a god of pure world if I am correct and since magic gods science equivalent is a level 6. Then does that mean touma is a level 6 since he basically has a magic god of pure world aka esper.
I honestly put more weight on the Rank Zero being the Beginning Child tbh. An Esper who is widely considered to be on par with a Level 5 strength-wise but that has never been formally tested under the modern Power Ciriculum being the prototype then going on ice before they could do so, would fit the criteria of an "unofficial" Level 5 you outlined.
Her being in the position as the 0th Level 5 would also make sense from a pure rank perspective as the Ranking of Level 5's is meant to be dependent on the worth of their abilities to ongoing research rather than based on the relative strength of their power and as she served as the base from which the modern Power Curriculum was derived technically *all* research involving Espers is ongoing research based upon her abilities, hence her positioning in the Oth slot as something both above but also separate from the Numbered Level 5's.

To be honest I don't think even Crowley know everything about Touma and his power but I wouldn't be surprise if Aiwass does because even now he is clearly still hiding things from everyone. Even hiding stuff from Anna because he didn't tell her that Crowley was still alive at the end of NT 22 which Crowley even bring up. Even this bird form of his is likely not his final form but it seen that how much of his power that a contractor had will determine his form . Likely if someone even more powerful then Anna was his contractor, his form would change again, likely too something even more powerful.
Also I wouldn't be surprise if there were some crazy scientists who did want to do weird experiment with Touma and IB but Crowley took care of anyone who try to. Just like I have a theory that the so call greatest Taboo of AC that was in GT 3, is a fake out that Crowley was using to kept the dark side away from all the true Taboo of AC. That if anyone in AC touch on, will be kill by Crowley or more likely Kihara Noukan. Who I think was basely the grim reaper of AC that Crowley had take care of people who touch the true taboos of AC and people who break away from his control like the 72 requests that Nouken had to do and was bring up in NT 11 that refuse to regroup after Crowley return. @@AeonofHorus well, considering the geometric core structure is a hallmark of an AIM burst and the dragon shell manifested in place of imagine breaker, you can sort of see where the potential for theorycrafting regarding Touma’s ESPer power might crop up.
Naturally there is the caveat that the dragon shell was explained to be what was left of the power of imagine breaker, but its not like Kamachi hasn’t outright lied to us before in his prose, so…

While Touma can be the strongest level 0 esper, he is definitely not someone with any real esper power if he loses his right. Whatever is inside him, whatever is the right hand, whatever technique he learns or whatever knowledge he gains, the esper powers rules makes him unable to do anything without formulas and calculation far above his mind.
That said, Touma fights against other low level espers or physical foes are irregular at best. He can lose a head on fight to someone just a bit better trained the same as he can get his blood loss body to defeat a full trained adult.
I believe that Aleister using magical concepts to create espers and science angels is no different than mages using math to create magic circles.
Scientists using magical concepts are an unusual sight, because magic is hidden from the world. At the same time, since science is widely available, magicians using scientific concepts are a common sight.
I'm not very good with magic but something like that was right? Using math to draw magic circles.

As an anime only, I just wanna ask a question. Why is there almost no adult espers if academy city has existed for so long? People grow up and eventually become adult. Is the mass production of esper children a more recent thing or do espers somehow lose powers when they become adult?

All things considered it's possible, it's been showed he can transform into a dragon when his duplicate stole IB, then when Touma got it back the duplicate could transform as well. Maybe it's a power of IB or it maybe why Alister value Touma so much, the ability to control Dragon energy.

Theres 2 more or less common theories, first being that he can manifest anything he truly desires (backed up by the existence of KnT which was born out of touma's inner desire of being efficent with imagine breaker) the second more common guess is actual future sight as it kinda goes in line with his precog

Bruh, Motoharu was threatening to kill his dad, and Touma lost his memories like a week before so he wasnt close to Motoharu at that point. Touma was definitely serious.
Touma was quite serious. In fact the only thing going against him was being under chloroform effect earlier.
