Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge, Thomas.
No problem. I have been productive, and the next three films are already captured.
One of your best ones!! 👍
Thanks! I already have another three being edited. Really digging down into the details this season, screw entertainment and overall audience appeal! :D
As always I enjoy your instruction step by step. Thank you 🤌
Thanks, more to come. Next three films already captured, just needs editing
I enjoy each of your posts. Thank you.
@@traucoGonzalez thank you very much for taking the time, have a good season!
Awesome Thomas 👌 probably the best instructional content maker on RUclips outstanding video as always
Wow, thanks, very generous words. New episodes are being edited right now, but the stronger winds eludes me (very unusual for this region) so there will be a fair amount of repetition in th eupcoming episodes.
The stock looks nice, good Video Thomas!
Thanks, very happy with the stock. In my eyes, beautiful grain 🥰
Beauty and precision!
Very, very happy with the result of this project. I am currently in the next phase (have already filmed another 3-4 episodes, just need time to edit) and reloading the more classic 6,5x57R that came with the rifle. It performs on par with my 6,5x55 but the factory ammunition I was able to get was significantly more expensive (5x) and precision was terrible, so 6,5x57R became a reloading project.
Cant wait, love the content
Thanks, hope it was worth the wait.
@@THLR allways worth the wait when fellow Norwegians makes great content
🇮🇹 Hi, arrived few minutes ago from the range where I was today as range officer, fine to see this new episodie!🇮🇹
Hope you had a great time on the range. Spent the day indoors, reloading 6.5x57r
Thanks for sharing, will try when my K5 is back 👍
Good luck! K5 are also very nice
Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time!
Finally a video🎉
Another next month
Ive been having trouble some days with my Merkel K5, fantastic video, i just need the rain to stop so I can go put up some targets
Good luck!
Greetings from Poland!
Thanks, good luck with your season!
Interesting, thank you.
You're welcome, thanks for watching. Editing new episodes right now.
Yes the 95 is beautiful now!!👌🏻
Absolutely. Took a long time to apply the oil finish, so have looked at those grains A LOT! 🥰
holding during a shot is a very useful thing 👍
Absolutely!
Renaissance wax is akin to microcrystalline wax, which is the toughest among wax finishes. Being better than nothing, it's still not optimal to prevent water from oxidising steel or entering the end grain of the wooden stock (the oil you applied onto the stock is as good as it gets). To avoid water entering at the wood/steel contact areas you need something flexible at various temperatures, red paste/liquid gasket is my first guess. Leave the wax on the steel as releasing agent and apply a very thin layer on the wooden surface. Join the two parts with light pressure and remove it after few hours. That should give you a water tight seal all around. If you don't like it, it will be easy to remove anyway. Hope it helps
Very helpful, thank you very much!
K95 ultimate ac should be a perfect fit for you
Ultimate is too ugly! Allthough I do like the idea of very lightweight carbon. But the price tag will interfere with life in general
Totally agree with the looks. But got mine for a steal.
@@Phil-bz1kz lovely!
Why did you not add a spring under the screw to have a little room for wood to do its thing. Love your Stock how is the Blaser Descirption THLR?
It was on the table during the planning phase, but too many unknown factors (strenght of spring, corrosion, total weight etc) so we decided against it and go with a simple self-centering solution.
I was always taught to pre load harris bipod (light pressure) not to pull rifle into shoulder, can you elaborate on that? I must try your way with my tikka t3 308 20" on 300m with that what you hacve shown
I was taught the same way; light forward pressure on bipod, until metal meets metal. These days I hold/hook the rifle and bring it back to the shoulder (compress clothing for firm contact, not agressive pressure) and it seems to be more consistent.
👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Great Video. Can you do a video on cold bore zero especially with the K95?
What's your definition/idea of a cold bore zero?
@@THLR first shot from a cold fouled bore. Is the cold shot point of impact different than shots fired from a warm barrel ? How do you account for this?
Thanks
@@MattLarmann gotcha! Only the 6XC with factory ammo was precise enough for me to detect this. I only see POI shift (small) in the first shots from a thoroughly cleaned barrel (clean metal) and with the fouled, patch-oil-in/patch-oil-out I don't really see a shift. This is with the scope still attached to the barrel. With scope on/of I've had shifts, but I'm not sure if it was the system or that specific mount (it kept losing torque)
Are you saying that cold bore ( first shot ) is a myth and if it occurs it is due to something other than a cold barrel? This is what I am exploring.
thanks..(!)
No problem, hope there was something useful
Hello Thomas..(!)
Thank you very much for your hard and important work.
Thanks to it, I realized how many factors influence the final effect, i.e. an accurate shot. While in target shooting it is an element of recreation, in hunting it is the most important part of the hunting process.
Recently I started watching your oldest videos again. It's good to go back to the roots and refresh your knowledge.
Thank you once again and I'm waiting for more valuable materials!
@@7fordevil no problem. Editing episode 371 as I type this...
Bueatiful rifle, this would be amazing in 6.5x55
I've grown very fond of it, of course the nice wood helps! Yes, very mild mannered. I think I would enjoy it even more in 243 or 6XC, but legal issues makes 6mm a daft choice for me. I also saw on the internet a frenchman (?) with a custom 5,6x50R barrel shooting Hornady .22cal 80-90 gr ELD M's - must be exceptionally pleasant to use for the smaller deer.
