Many say he’s the greatest of all time. I don’t agree and neither does he. But he’s my personal favorite fighter of all time. He’s gone through so many stages of development since I first saw him. And he’s been a class act all the way. Personally I only have him losing two k-1 fights, Buakaw vs Sato 2 and Buakaw vs Masato 2. That’s a real good record in a golden age for middle weight kickboxing, especially since every ref had it in for him.
He wasn’t good enough at that point. There was so much more money to be had in k1 so he chose to change his style (multiple times) so in his absolute prime he wouldn’t have been good enough under Muay Thai rules anyway. He’s my absolute favorite fighter of all time. I’ve followed his career very closely since the Toyota marathon. He’s not the best of all time though.
