Funny to see how a lot these situational tips also help for higher ranks (champ). For example knowing to slow down the play when you see your teammate is flipping backwards for boost and also knowing how to punish aggressive players by hitting it on their backboard and forcing them into awkward touches. And those are just a few examples. Honestly thank you so much for this series Leth, enjoying it to the fullest!
Agreed, the first example of slowing the play down is something I haven't really practiced and I'm sitting champ 3, wondering if that'll push me into gc 🤔
It’s definitely the case that slowing the play down, letting the opponent throw the ball away, etc. are big keys. The problem with trying to implement these things is that even though Lethamyr isn’t making powerful touches, not even the best ones, he is mostly making *perfect* touches. He knows where the ball is going to be with the reads of an SSL player, he is always in a great position to get the right 50, and when he touches the ball it is always going where he intends it to go. As a counter example, the play where he commented on his teammate throwing the ball away, which ended up turning into an opponent own goal, is the very simplest example of players at these ranks not being able to do what he can. The one time he failed at predicting an opponents move on the 50, it turned into a goal against. Not making mistakes is an underrated skill that’s hard to train and it’s hard for SSL players to remove that from their play when doing these series.
I think a big difference is that anytime you want to do something, you can do it. I, and a lot of folks in diamond, lack consistency in our touches, especially defensively. I see that you play much slower than I do, and I am still jealous of the feel you display on a lot of saves, passes and clears. I will try to slow down like this more but I have little faith I can be as successful with my slow play.
Agreed. I can slow down, but I just don't have the defensive/technical skills, or the read of the game, that Leth has. Also, I think Leth being so passive as a teammate would frustrate the hell out of me, as someone who tends to be used to having to play last man a lot. That said, I will try to calm down and see how it goes; I know I dive in too much, and also force my rotation when I feel my teammate is not rotating as much as I'd like.
This is a valid point; a lot of the road to SSL videos don't take into consideration that they can position themselves appropriately because they have a read on the play that comes from such an understanding of the game that most players in x rank simply do not have. As an example from this video, it's easy to say "Don't involve yourself in the game so much. Play slower, make better decisions" - playing slower is absolutely necessary sometimes, but the issue comes from the "make better decisions" aspect. Most people do what they do because they think it's the best thing to do in that situation. Hindsight is 20/20, so of course they're already doing what they think is good. That said, it is still instructive for Leth to showcase the skillset, because those who are introspective will realize that they simply just need to study the game more and evolve their understanding of the game's physics, ball control, and car control. Those who are not introspective will take longer to realize these facts.
Yeah, after watching an earlier series, I was able to move up to Champ as well, and I can entirely attribute it to the game knowledge learned through Leth's commentary.
@@greed_conn749 honestly I probably will. My mechs are trash and inconsistent haha. I probably look like a gold compared to other champs because I can’t do a lot but my game sense is decent enough haha. But thanks for the well wishes!
The biggest downfall I've noticed in myself over the years isn't necessarily that I don't know what I should do, I just don't have the discipline to do it. When I get a ball chasey tm8 my first instinct is that they shouldn't play the way they do and I'm too irritated to humble myself and play around them. When people are zooming around the field chasing the ball my first instinct is to try and beat them. I guess my biggest takeaway from trying to improve over the last couple years is patience and discipline. Being patient with teammates and having the discipline to play the way I _know_ I should be.
I Kinda get the thinking here and I could provide fresh point of view. I often play with my brother who is much better attacker because he has very good mechanics and dribbles. So I very naturally assume defensive role. He does most of the attacking and Im only there to goalkeep, switch him at rotations and finish shots that he failed to score. When I play 3v3 with him he is almost useless because as 1s or 2s main he is not used to the ballchasey version of rocket league where you have to touch the ball no matter how bad in order to disrupt enemy teamplay. Im used to it though and Im completely fine hammering the ball around enemy team to make random opportunities arise for my teammates. And when I head back for boost/defence my teammate can get really good clear or pass play and Ill be able to finish their work. Same principles as 2s just a bit more chaotic. Requires more precision and speed to score but its definitely doable. Anyway Im rambling a bit here. My original point was you can try to assume defenders role, its quite fun if you can enjoy the supportive plays.
I love what you're doing, reinforcing good patterns of play from your teammates by rewarding them with a goal. Although what I've seen from when I got out of Diamond is I had a fake "positive feedback loop" from forcing the ball into the opponents corner. This honestly had like a 1 in 20 success rate where the ball would be own goaled to luckily reach my teammate at the back post, this was fundamentally better than anything else I did. I feel you should also explain/ reinforce that certain tactics that "work" ... just barely at that rank like forcing the ball into the opponents corner and booming the ball on every possession. These aren't sustainable tactics and largely lead to counter plays for the opposition. P.s. Plays that lead to goals in only half your games aren't going to rank you up. You need to be making better decisions than your opponent 99% of the time unless you're praying for luck. All in all amazing series, love hearing you're insight on lower level lobbies!
i feel like since leth is a content creator doing so many custom stuff, i would really love a series like this but for extra modes, maybe not rumble, but snowday, hoops dropshot, meaning i feel like he could also really explain things there
Perfect thumbnail. I know my biggest problem is going too fast most of the time and not slowing down when I can. Even though the whole game, I'm telling myself out loud to slow down. Love the content as always, and this series specifically will help me a ton.
Idk why Leth’s diamond lobbies look so different from mine. To me the experience on European servers seems so very different Edit: I inadvertently started a huge debate. Pretty interesting though. I do think Leth makes diamonds (like me) “look worse” in that he exposes their mistakes so easily with excellent positioning and gamesense. Also, I’ve noticed that when you slow the game way down like he does suddenly the diamond gameplay looks a lot more awkward. The mistakes are a lot more apparent compared to when everyone just goes full ballchase and slams the ball around as hard as possible, which is what usually happens in my diamond lobbies.
Thought people start flipping on kick offs in gold. The play style is very different I see I think EU servers are better than na servers in terms of skill and decision making
@Zuesnastrio When I first started earlier last year, I was mid gold and people were flipping towards on kickoff. People started dribbling and flicking in plat. And in diamond where I am now, air dribbling and double taps are fairly common.
I started at diamond one, and I started following your tips on reading opponents and staying back and playing slower and I haven’t lost a game and I’ve made it up to diamond two div three in the span of one morning. I can’t thank you enough!
once in a champ tournament i told one of the guys to slow down a bit, we were loosing semi finals because he was too anxious and trying to compensate with "speed" as soon as he slowed down we turned it over and ended up winning the whole tournament, it was probably his first time and i like to think he learned a valuable lesson
I’ve been stuck in champ 1 for like 3-4 years every time I’m in my div 4 game I feel like I throw or my teammates do so I’m glad we are finally here I’ve been watching the series from day one and here to stay leth teach the kid a tip to get out of this place 😂
its very interesting seeing diamond gameplay in the uk/us servers. in the eastern european servers are way harder in rank up because if this diamond gameplay, the diamond gameplay in eu servers is champ 2 at least in the uk/us servers. at least that's how I see it.
exactly in EU they would get decimated, if you play like this in EU it'll be 0-10 in 2 mins. "They start flipping on kickoff at Diamond" mf in Eu are speedflipping from Plat and wave dashing from Gold
People are being more engageful because they don't want to depend on other players. In this series Leth is trying to make players win by setting up the balls, but this is not a way a climbing player wants to play and / or progress. Mentally soloing their way to that SSL they want to be ready to make plays on their own. It is interesting you can win games on diamond by doing small things with consistency, but people preffer to try to do big things inconsistent. I guess thats who we are when being competetive
Just going to comment this again because I think it would really add to the series. I think you should turn on the display MMR setting in bakkesmod. I think it would help veterans get a more specific idea of where you are in the ranks, and it would help familiarize any rookies with the MMR system.
When you're forward you just keep leaving the ball when you shouldn't, causing your teammate who was actually in a decent position to have to rush to the ball, burning boost etc.. Also, you could have centered it to let him score. Is this really the best lesson for people? I mean, I know you're trying to keep the mechanics low. But over and over you just leave the ball when you were in control. Why are you doing that? It's not something you would recommend others do I'm sure. Anyhow, love these type of series, and especially yours. I hope you make one of these in 1s, and then another 2s after that. Be nice to see you play normal, but give yourself handicaps. It would be cool if you made one of these RTSS each season even. I think it's most people's favorite content. E.g. Bronze-Silver: Grounded at all times, no boost, flips, or super sonic Gold-Plat: Add boost Diamond: Add jump and dodge Champ: Wall / Dribbles Etc...
When I play in diamond, I see people do speed flips, flip resets, air roll aerials and double taps... sometimes even flip resets. I play in europe though. The ranks seem a little different for NA.
I'm diamond to champ.. to my point even when your not trying you make diamonds opponents look like gold.. to me when I'm in a game it's sweaty everytime and whiching you play its like god play I guess it's just the difference in skill lol.. love the videos and thanks for the tips
Gotta say as a consistently D3/C1 player I was doing a scuffed speedflip by D2 and I could do some basic air dribbling/double taps in D2, also I could dribble and flick pretty well there as well so seeing this is very insightful
I love this series, just proves that confidence is a massive element of success, along with controlling last man, I feel like I fit into these lobbies well yet I’m stuck in plat, and no matter how I change my gameplay I can never get above plat 3 (playing with randoms 80% of the time) I feel the biggest killer of mid to low ranks is double commits
it really is about the decision making and figuring out when to go and not to. How u play will change from each game, if you have an aggressive or passive tm8, not one style fits in every game. From Leths last series he mentioned a 'red light green light' thing that basically can help you to decide to go or not, like if the ball is gonna be in your favor or not. It also sound silly but the training packs/freeplay really help improve your skill and confidence.
@@Grobbo14 yeh I understand that, and I’m always playing in the training packs to try something new, I feel for me I commit or go (maybe on the red light) with the expectation that my teammate has my back/last man/ready for the play I’m about to do. When in fact there either afk or committing at the same time, I find the better team mates are usually the ones who are not always mechanically amazing but play well and read the game/my play style early on, Issue is at plat/diamond there are a ton of players who play like there GC when there not (I can be guilty of it too) and cos is the win
The thing is you find players who are in diamond that make the plays Leth thinks isn't Diamond, it's uncommon for sure and they should probably be at a higher rank, but are tons of people like me who fluctuate between Diamond and Champ, and rarely scrape low GC, a wide range of good and bad games .... not to mention one thing Leth means that of which a natural players skill is max a Diamond, which that I can mostly understand what he means
"People in Plat do not speedflip" - January 2023 Platinum Training Pack Shot 4 disagrees It took me like half an hour to get that one speedflip to get the shot. Took me even longer to get Shot 7 in the diamond training pack where you have to catch and carry the ball to the net, saying that diamonds do dribble.
I just tried the training pack (plat jan 23) you mentioned, and completed it in a few minutes without any speed flips required. Speedflipping on shot 4 will get you into position faster but it is not required to make the shot. I can even do it without jumping, sometimes even going too fast and need to tap brakes to make the shot. I think your approach to the shot is wrong (bad route) or your inputs are too inefficient (too much inputs, maybe too high sensitivity) - A person with 4k hours who speed flips way more than I should, LOL
@@Anyarchy I've tried everything for shot 4, tapping drift and boosting towards where the ball is gonna land, turning wide and boosting towards it but I've always come just short of it. I seriously don't know how else you're supposed to do this shot without speedflipping and even with speedflipping I've barely managed to just about get the ball in once after trying what felt like forever :( I'd love it if you could film, upload and share your attempt at it so I can see what I'm doing wrong because I just can't consistently do it.
@@JimmyHey Make sure you start the shot holding boost before you input anything else. Also if you use bakkesmod, make sure to put "no variance" on custom training. It's great for most training, but can make some speed requiring shots impossible to reach. I got steam/discord if you still struggle with it.
The main difference i see in my lobbies is everyone is in the air. If it was ground play i could get better. But ppl are flip resetting in my net and im in between plat and diamond sooo... idk what to do
Flip reseting and speed flips are common in diamonds 3s lobbies because of the champs that have had a bad run of mmr, the gc smurf accounts that are rampant as well
@@robinkiyomi7560 i see it every other match in d3. It is common. Do they hit them every time? No. But it's easy to spot and have been scored on by them plenty. C3, you are not going to see many smurf accounts. They deliberately stay lower down to practice freestyle etc. It's frankly pathetic
yo look fr watching u play the game the way it’s supposed to be played slowing it down really works i was hard stuck in champ 1 i was able to push up to champ 3 just because i changed the way i played
Leth I really love you vids bro but your diamond lobbys are really cheese compare to mine. In my lobby they are speed flipping air dribbeling and making airial passing plays all over the bord hah. Really strange how much the level of play variates.😂
kinda funny to see the difference between EU and US 2v2... in EU 2v2 expecially on those shown ranks every player, and i mean EVERY one is going to every ball as fast as they can... if its saves, attacks, bumps, it does not matter... its basically "if u see ball, go ball" so as a eu player i should play on US server bec i think they are way easier to defeat! Ofc i have in mind that Leth is not only a experienced player, but other than thant he has the ability to read every possible situation and is such a chill player at that.. I mean except some things he does in this video xD Like at 19:27 where every player would go for that save, even if they miss, they would double jump every time but thats him not knowing that much about diamond players behaviour so i dont blame him at all! This is a great video as always, much love from Germany
Really enjoyed the video - sad that I somehow (by some miracle 😂) didn't run in to you, RLCartographer; but I take to heart your point about [us] saying the games in the video look slower than the games we play, but that's because WE are trying to play faster than we need to. I think that your advice in the past has helped me slow down and that's improved my play,... and this is just more reminder to [slow down] even more. 😊
I think the main difference in your matchmaking is that you're using a new-ish account (12K TRN Score) so you're likely getting matched up with more experienced/veteran players at the diamond+ ranks. I (1M+ TRN) often get stuck with newer players (few wins + very low TRN score). Since watching your videos, I've gotten MUCH better at slowing down the ball and controlling the play however in at least 2/3 of my games (at high Diamond 1/low Diamond 2) I get teammates who slam me from the rear into the ball while I'm just dribbling with nobody around me - so yea I know exactly what others are referring to. The odd thing is I've noticed that when I'm playing comp 3s - I'm often playing with players who are champ or GC in comp 2's (RL tracker shows you that) but yet in my 2s I can't get past Diamond 2 myself. It's especially bad on Friday nights (US - East) - my MMR drops by 40-50 points in that one night and then goes back up playing during the week (I'm usually around 930 MMR) - that is kind of hard to explain any other way than matchmaking inconsistency/issues. Just something to think about - although given your experience with mapmaking and RL programming you likely know better than me.
I meant to imply that they use something LIKE a TRN score (or some other calculation of account age or hours in game + MMR) and not just MMR. I'm even more convinced of it because yesterday I got paired up against 2 people who had a TRN of 500K each and I was paired with a BRAND NEW (
@@budshoot6951 You're not wrong in the sense that there is more to it than just the numbers that BakkesMod can let us see beside the queue. Pretty much every MMR system takes into consideration tenure and quantity of games played. There is still a lot to be taken from the video though.
@@LunaticSoldiers - Absolutely agreed about the value in the video(s) and I've commented on a couple of Lethamyr's videos about how he's made me a better player. I'm just finally at that level where I feel like almost half my 2's matches end up being 3v1 due to poor matchmaking. This weekend my comp 2's MMR went from 930s down to 815, by Tuesday I was back up to 930s. I mean it's entirely possible that I just absolutely suck on Fridays & Saturdays but I feel like the players I'm matched with are just far lower caliber than those during the week. Maybe it's just that I just don't have enough versatility to play with those types of players but there's definitely something different about matchmaking on weekends for me.
@@budshoot6951 Something worth considering is the different type of people playing. Weekdays, some kids are probably out doing extra curriculars for school, or parents limit their time on the games. Weekends and Friday nights maybe their are more kids who just happen to be of a similar or slightly higher skill level and you're the one expected to carry for your team? I almost always refuse to play with randoms. I've played too much League of Legends and I'm cynical as a result of it. I will say, from a perspective of someone in lower to mid C1, my partner and I have some days where we are untouchable, and others where diamonds are demolishing us. If this video is proof enough, you should also consider that this is the skill range where a lot of people Smurf and/or pay for boosting. So it's entirely possible that you're occasionally getting matched up against those people too.
I wish I had these level diamond players in my lobbies. I’m D2 Div4 and I am not kidding when I say my opponents literally air dribble, flip reset, and double tap consistently. I have no idea. But lately I’ve been playing 2s and 9/10 of my matches have 1 person from the other team get 700+ points while the lobby has an average of 400-500. Then at the end of the match, the 700 point guy is unranked and his friend is gold 2. Boosters are so annoying. It actually surprised me you haven’t ran into any yet.
Came back to watch these again. It’s def very different at this rank now. It’s just so smurfy. I’m not seeing his opponents do anything mechanically. I’ve got teams doing ceiling shot passes. Nothing even close to that is happening in these mid Diamond videos. It’s not just decision making….the mechanics aren’t close. 🤷🏼♂️
Just like flakes said, respect the opponent if he has possession then keep shadow defending until he really goes for the shot or pass then you go for the fifty. When you and your opponent are next to your goal just make yourself a wall that separates him and your goal, basically a fifty as well. Or so I understood from watching his road to supersonic legend series in ones.
I think the best takeaway from how he’s playing is that game sense and understanding how to rotate around your tm8/read the opponents is just as, if not more valuable than good mechanics at these lower ranks. If you can make some of the plays he’s not going for, then go for it but keep making smart decisions in between. As for underestimating them, I think he knows they CAN pull off good plays but also knows they’re not consistent with them 😂 I’m champ 1 and I make some good plays but I mess them up pretty often too
I think the "problem" here is that he's too smart for diamonds lol. He can mimic their behaviors, but not their rotations and decision making, that's why he gets many plays with ease even though he isn't trying
18:50 He could have beat the player to the ball off kickoff, but he keeps himself on such a tight leash that he rarely boosts in these games 😂 And then I think ~70% of the time a diamond would have scored the open net from the resulting bounce off backboard into mid field. He had basically full boost, and I understand he didn’t want to do a flawless dribble into the opponent’s net, but he could have just tapped it towards goal once and walked it in. The 30% of the time I miss that is when I just miss to either side of the goal, or my teammate bangs the ball into side wall for no reason. There was no need to slow the ball down into a controlled dribble, and the last thing most diamonds do is slow the ball down lol. I understand he doesn’t want to score, but if you’re showing diamond players how to rank up then they should probably hit the ball towards an open net. He’s trying to both teach how to play better and play to the level of diamond players, so he ended up flipping into the side of the ball even though he had 80 boost and messed up a play that, from that point, even a gold player could manage to score most of the time. It’s a weird balance of watching him alternate between making smart decisions that lead to an open net, and then immediately failing to score said open net.
@@joshlewis8860 the thing is with a lot of these plays he could have done is all from his rotation and positioning. A Diamond would most likely not be in a lot of these positions or even have the mind set to hit the ball how your describing. it looks easy and slow watching it because that's from Leths experienced playstyle. yes there are some stuff that a diamond would have done differently but maybe that's not how they should have done it.
hi leth been watching your channel for a few months now and i love the videos! a cool idea for meme of the day is schronic could be funny (mix of sonic and pro player chronic) also I wonder how retals and appjack would react if they saw their faces on meme of the day maybe when you get to ssl you could gather all the people you used for meme of the day and get their reactions could be a cool video :) edit: as im watching the series i notice you seem to win a lot of your 50s so maybe lose a few
hm, in europe diamonds are definitely flipping on kick off. I fully get what youre saying and doing but for some reason I dont find myself in positions where I have time to make thought through plays (find myself having to rush for saves often), taking my time though and keeping it close. That being said, I'm ranking up, hit Diamond 2 for the first time yesterday
27:28 I have been so close many times to seeing that rank up but also. My ranked games have people air dribbling and flip resetting I want to know what servers you play on because I guess USW must be full of mechy players.
I love these videos I'm learning so much. I'm not sure it's a good idea to party up with anyone at any rank because queueing solo gives the best indication of how players skill varies at different mmr. Partying up would be helping drag your parties mmr up even at GC and I'd assume low SSL given that you can clearly still play all the way up at pro level. Thanks for the great content Lethameerkat ✌️
Alright... I admit it. I DID need to slow down, decided to only work on playing more like this, and from yesterday to today, I scored three times just getting a 50, won 6 games in a row straight to D2 again, haven't seen D3 in a while, so here's hoping I can finally see champ this season
Lethameerkat is my new spirit animal! Love it. This is my rank so I'm taking notes hard.. you should see the players in south Africa 🇿🇦 servers. Smh.. love you Leth!
Hey Leth! Loving this content. Helping my twos game play a lot. Maybe it’s just me but your comment about not getting bumped a lot, how do you balance proper positioning with aggressive teammates who think they are FirstKiller. I try to wait and have been utilizing the tools you have been showing in these videos to read my opponent more, but my teammates still seem to bump me and I’m not sure if my positioning is too far away and safe, so my teammates think they have to go even when I’m on the ball? Perhaps I’m too close or looking awkward on the ball, so my teammate thinks I need help. But if you could go over balancing that positioning that would perhaps help at least me out a little. Thanks! And again loving the content.
First of all, Leth I love you bro. Second lethals (like you and retals but with mafia hats ;P). and third "a lot of people say you look like a gold playing in diamond" naaaah i am c3 and I play like that when i play with my g2 mate because I have much better position i donb 't wiff as much and i just can score whenever i want. I think they say you look like a gold because you are not playing fast and not boosting a lot but well you just dont need to you are just in position you are ready when you need to because your rotation is basically on point and even if not your still faster than anyone who is playing with or against you. You are playing slow and passivly but you are still in charge of anything that happens
A while ago I set a challenge for myself after watching the first RTSSL, i decided to play ranked without using any boost just to train myself to slow down because i realized i was zooming. I won every game i didnt use boost in and learned a huge lesson that day
Open nets and rewarding people for doing great passes will make a huge difference throughout these RTSSLs tbh. I would be so tilted if you didn't just hit it into the net on a really good pass mid with no defenders. (just a standard solo warrior gc2/3 in 2s/3s/etc modes) No idea what the fix would be though besides just telling them you won't be scoring for a vid.
I've said this in a couple places but I've often ranked up when I realize what plays I should lay off of. Give my teammate some trust and make a play off what they do
my plat 3 lobbies consist of gold, plats, diamonds, and champs randomly mixed in the bunch. they speed flip, air dribble, crazy flicks etc. . i feel like im always getting the worse teammates one day and then the next day its so smooth. the biggest problem i notice in plat lobbies is rotation
I keep seeing people comment asking this, so I wanna clear this up (as a Grandchamp) The reason the ranks look different “Worse” when people do these road to ____ series’s, is because you have a player who is skilled enough to touch the ball however he wants and also has far superior game sense then everyone in the lobby as well. His touches all have purpose. He’s making the other team awkward and also enabling his teammate with every possession. Him doing that, against players who do not have developed mechanics or game sense will always look worse than what the same players would look like if you (the same rank) were playing in the game instead. That’s just the truth on the matter.
I am not even lying but these lobbies look so different. I am D3 and my opponents speed flip or just have a faster kickoff the. Leth’s opponents. Entertaining video but this just looks a lot different. Like their ariels are kind of bad.
Walter Retwell White Sr! I really enjoy these series. What would be very informative IMO, would be if you took a like minded youtube creator and showed like 1 game in each rank starting from plat or diamond (For example SpookLuke did his RTSSL in the same way as you). Instead of RTSSL it would be more of a big picture on how 2 people if played well would win without disrupting each rank. I doubt it would happen since in theory you would have to climb through ranks by separate from you teammate and then team up with said person to play a game or 2 in each rank.
6:03 When any one including me in my Diamonds lobbies would chip that up and hit a double tap. Just shows how different OCE servers are compared to NA East and West. Once again great video and keep it up
ngl if my teammate played like you do here and in the last two vids, I would probably be pretty confused sometimes :3 Still very helpful tho, I hadnt played in a long while and this is a great recap for me
Funny to see how a lot these situational tips also help for higher ranks (champ).

What you say is true but I think that if you slow your play you ll be able to make a lot more consistent good touches.
I feel you, my saves always end up bouncing right back to either middle or the other team
Also, thinking that by going slow he can lower his amount of unnecessary touches and also lower the risk of failing
Agreed. I can slow down, but I just don't have the defensive/technical skills, or the read of the game, that Leth has.
Bro, people will be telling their grandkids about the time they saw Lethameerkat. You are an absolute legend, Leth.
Really studied Leths RTSSL videos and finally made Champ 1 today after being hard stuck in Diamond for about 3-4 months.
Yeah, after watching an earlier series, I was able to move up to Champ as well, and I can entirely attribute it to the game knowledge learned through Leth's commentary.
Good luck in champ bruh hope u don't get as hard stuck as me

You better not quit this series leth, you know we love it 😂
i feel like since leth is a content creator doing so many custom stuff, i would really love a series like this but for extra modes, maybe not rumble, but snowday, hoops dropshot, meaning i feel like he could also really explain things there

Idk why Leth’s diamond lobbies look so different from mine. To me the experience on European servers seems so very different
Edit: I inadvertently started a huge debate.
Agree... compared to mine his look like golds
Thought people start flipping on kick offs in gold. The play style is very different I see

@Zuesnastrio When I first started earlier last year, I was mid gold and people were flipping towards on kickoff. People started dribbling and flicking in plat. And in diamond where I am now, air dribbling and double taps are fairly common.
What I would give to watch you play a game like elden ring or some kind of survival game. Your narration is so smooth.

its very interesting seeing diamond gameplay in the uk/us servers. in the eastern european servers are way harder in rank up because if this diamond gameplay, the diamond gameplay in eu servers is champ 2 at least in the uk/us servers. at least that's how I see it.
exactly in EU they would get decimated, if you play like this in EU it'll be 0-10 in 2 mins. "They start flipping on kickoff at Diamond" mf in Eu are speedflipping from Plat and wave dashing from Gold
Uk is eu servers?
People are being more engageful because they don't want to depend on other players. In this series Leth is trying to make players win by setting up the balls, but this is not a way a climbing player wants to play and / or progress. Mentally soloing their way to that SSL they want to be ready to make plays on their own. It is interesting you can win games on diamond by doing small things with consistency, but people preffer to try to do big things inconsistent. I guess thats who we are when being competetive
You sounds like the AI named GTP who I was asking for advice a few hours ago..
Man idk what dimond lobbies you get but the ones I get people are hitting flip reset and consent ariels most of the time

Just going to comment this again because I think it would really add to the series. I think you should turn on the display MMR setting in bakkesmod. I think it would help veterans get a more specific idea of where you are in the ranks, and it would help familiarize any rookies with the MMR system.
Ya gotta do it... Crusty Musty
-Keep up the good work! love ya dedication to make you and your viewers happy :)
E.g.
Bronze-Silver: Grounded at all times, no boost, flips, or super sonic
Gold-Plat: Add boost
Diamond: Add jump and dodge
Champ: Wall / Dribbles
Etc...
I love this series, just proves that confidence is a massive element of success, along with controlling last man, I feel like I fit into these lobbies well yet I’m stuck in plat, and no matter how I change my gameplay I can never get above plat 3 (playing with randoms 80% of the time)
I feel the biggest killer of mid to low ranks is double commits
it really is about the decision making and figuring out when to go and not to.
When in fact there either afk or committing at the same time,
I find the better team mates are usually the ones who are not always mechanically amazing but play well and read the game/my play style early on,
Issue is at plat/diamond there are a ton of players who play like there GC when there not (I can be guilty of it too) and cos is the win

"People in Plat do not speedflip"
- January 2023 Platinum Training Pack Shot 4 disagrees
It took me like half an hour to get that one speedflip to get the shot.
I think your approach to the shot is wrong (bad route) or your inputs are too inefficient (too much inputs, maybe too high sensitivity)
- A person with 4k hours who speed flips way more than I should, LOL
@@Anyarchy I've tried everything for shot 4, tapping drift and boosting towards where the ball is gonna land, turning wide and boosting towards it but I've always come just short of it.
I seriously don't know how else you're supposed to do this shot without speedflipping and even with speedflipping I've barely managed to just about get the ball in once after trying what felt like forever :(
I'd love it if you could film, upload and share your attempt at it so I can see what I'm doing wrong because I just can't consistently do it.
@@JimmyHey Make sure you start the shot holding boost before you input anything else. Also if you use bakkesmod, make sure to put "no variance" on custom training. It's great for most training, but can make some speed requiring shots impossible to reach.

The main difference i see in my lobbies is everyone is in the air. If it was ground play i could get better. But ppl are flip resetting in my net and im in between plat and diamond sooo... idk what to do
Flip reseting and speed flips are common in diamonds 3s lobbies because of the champs that have had a bad run of mmr, the gc smurf accounts that are rampant as well

kinda funny to see the difference between EU and US 2v2... in EU 2v2 expecially on those shown ranks every player, and i mean EVERY one is going to every ball as fast as they can... if its saves, attacks, bumps, it does not matter... its basically "if u see ball, go ball" so as a eu player i should play on US server bec i think they are way easier to defeat!
TRN score doesn’t mean anything to rocket league because it applies across all games they track, not just rocket league.
Lethameerkat is the most incredible thing I've seen all day 🤣
I wish I had these level diamond players in my lobbies.
Thanks to ur advice I went from plat3 to diamond 2 I’m no time
“I probably should score”
Proceeds to snipe it across the map mid sentence😂
Leth I feel like you really underestimate the rank like the easy shots you get or the saves that anyone could make
I think the best takeaway from how he’s playing is that game sense and understanding how to rotate around your tm8/read the opponents is just as, if not more valuable than good mechanics at these lower ranks.
18:50 He could have beat the player to the ball off kickoff, but he keeps himself on such a tight leash that he rarely boosts in these games 😂
And then I think ~70% of the time a diamond would have scored the open net from the resulting bounce off backboard into mid field.

That being said, I'm ranking up, hit Diamond 2 for the first time yesterday
You explain things really well while you're playing.
All I had to see was the thumbnail and I instantly agree 100% so many players are just trying to rush when they don't have to.

As a plat who speed flips, I can confirm plats do indeed speed flip
And I'm here with my c3 tm8s not even flipping 😂

Loving the content! Maybe do threatals as retals being mad or ScrubDaddyKilla, which is pretty self explanatory
Diamond kick offs vary from driving at the ball to speed flips, lol
First of all, Leth I love you bro. Second lethals (like you and retals but with mafia hats ;P). and third "a lot of people say you look like a gold playing in diamond" naaaah i am c3 and I play like that when i play with my g2 mate because I have much better position i donb 't wiff as much and i just can score whenever i want. I think they say you look like a gold because you are not playing fast and not boosting a lot but well you just dont need to you are just in position you are ready when you need to because your rotation is basically on point and even if not your still faster than anyone who is playing with or against you. You are playing slow and passivly but you are still in charge of anything that happens
i actually don’t understand how my Diamond 1 lobbies have more aerials and the plays are a bit faster than these lobbies
A while ago I set a challenge for myself after watching the first RTSSL, i decided to play ranked without using any boost just to train myself to slow down because i realized i was zooming.
I won every game i didnt use boost in and learned a huge lesson that day
Wish I saw this when I was clawing my way out of diamond. Crazy how little you needed to do
Thanks leth this tip made me go from diamond 2 to champ 1 👍
Rocket League but you typing in chat moves your car it would be a funny video idea
Leth goes supersonic twice
Also leth: this is a little advanced for diamond
Leth last game is like My d2 games fr😂😂😂😂
be leth, goes supersonic once in diamond "I'm probably playing faster then I should be"
Hes so underrated. Just so good
I keep seeing people comment asking this, so I wanna clear this up (as a Grandchamp)
The reason the ranks look different “Worse” when people do these road to ____ series’s, is because you have a player who is skilled enough to touch the ball however he wants and also has far superior game sense then everyone in the lobby as well.
His touches all have purpose. He’s making the other team awkward and also enabling his teammate with every possession. Him doing that, against players who do not have developed mechanics or game sense will always look worse than what the same players would look like if you (the same rank) were playing in the game instead. That’s just the truth on the matter.
Leth do you think you could show us your camera settings?
I am not even lying but these lobbies look so different. I am D3 and my opponents speed flip or just have a faster kickoff the. Leth’s opponents. Entertaining video but this just looks a lot different. Like their ariels are kind of bad.
I agree I think he’s just that good at reading the game though.
1:50 Ohhh he cookin for real lmfao 🤣 🤣
14:32 i would say 15% of my games, when i was a plat in new s2, had atleast one person that knew how to speedflip
Me in Diamond 3:
"Okay, good challenge now I can head back since my teammate should be ready for the ball."
My teammate: 22:44
Leth has such great positioning that he makes RL seem easy.
Monkey Loon. It’s just a monkey's head on a loon
Your tips are so useful even though I'm plat these might help me rank up , and I would love to see Chevroleth
Great short and good luck!
Love the lethymeerkat, perfectly cursed
For some reason in diamond I see a LOT of people preflip on kickoff. Like drove forward then flip early so the hit the ball halfway through the flip
Lethamirror. This series is amazing!! Keep it up!
Next meme gotta be “Dragonball Zurx”
Walter Retwell White Sr!
I really enjoy these series. What would be very informative IMO, would be if you took a like minded youtube creator and showed like 1 game in each rank starting from plat or diamond (For example SpookLuke did his RTSSL in the same way as you). Instead of RTSSL it would be more of a big picture on how 2 people if played well would win without disrupting each rank. I doubt it would happen since in theory you would have to climb through ranks by separate from you teammate and then team up with said person to play a game or 2 in each rank.
How are your diamond games so easyyyyyy
And your underestimating us😢😢😢
6:03 When any one including me in my Diamonds lobbies would chip that up and hit a double tap. Just shows how different OCE servers are compared to NA East and West. Once again great video and keep it up
I know these games are so slow and awkward compared to my d3
Well most OCE diamonds have well over a thousand hours, where most low diamond NA players probably are closer to 500
ngl if my teammate played like you do here and in the last two vids, I would probably be pretty confused sometimes :3
Still very helpful tho, I hadnt played in a long while and this is a great recap for me
