Oh my God why isn’t Stewart still on TV? Also the 80s and 90s I was so frustrated trying to catch episodes of this show on PBS and thank God for the Internet and RUclips I finally got to watch all the missing episodes and everything! God bless Stuart And Gary for everything that they taught us through the computer chronicles a legacy for all times.
stewart cheifet is a living legend. his show chronicled one of the most transitional technological phases of human history, in such an informative yet approachable way.
A hug to Stewart Cheifet, I know you went to Portugal a few years ago, there are two videos on Computer Chronicles, a nice person and that makes the programs pleasant to hear.
It is unfortunate that the Computer Chronicles was never shown in our country, however watching the replays in YT, there is a feeling of nostalgia having experience that era of the technology way back.
I hope when the fateful day comes that Stewart Cheifet gets all the praise he deserves from every tech site, tech award, and tech business he deserves. Loved this guy and his show, and the influence he had that made other later tech shows so good. He deserves to be a industry hero.
RIP Gary Kildall and the events surrounding his death. He was Cheifet's great co-host/ right hand man and was sorely missed on the show. Also... Stewart's Twitter account has had no posts since November 2021. I hope that he is still doing well.
I watched Computer Chronicles from the mid 1980's to the early 2000's. I looked forward to each new episode every week, just to see what new tech was being reviewed. Today, there's thousands & millions of tech reviews on just RUclips alone, but it basically started with Stewart & he set the precedent for this type of tech/computers news format.
Computer Chronicles should come back. Format - Host talks directly face to face with industry and tech representatives, who are happen to be sitting right next to their competitors :p
"The story is way too long for the time we have." Thats him! He always had a way of putting just enough details ib the show to keep it flowing and keep our interest without getting into the minutia
I would love a modernized version (maybe on RUclips?) where Stewart just talks about new tech and his thoughts on it. Or maybe he can invite the creators of the tech and do interviews, like in computer chronicles. Somewhat like the format of this video.
This was before my time, but I've watched every episode i can find as i thoroughly enjoy computers new and old. I did grow up with atari, commodore and a 386 as my first pc and i started tinkering with a 486. I absolutely love the nostalgia of the series! I think it's about time to re-watch it!
Glad to see stewart cheifet always learned a lot & enjoyed watching his programs sadly gary kildall is not with us but his contributions will ever be remembered.
So cool to see him in modern (as I type this) times, still engaged and knowledgeable of where technology is and of how far it’s come since the run of the show. I still get a kick out of watching those old episodes. 🤓
Loved that show back in the day! Great to watch the old episodes now and just marvel at things like laptops the size of large phonebooks but that were cutting edge at the time! Great to see Stewart still going strong! I wish she would have asked about Gary Kindal on the show.
Stuart not only demystified the then-new computer to the old generation, but only the old computer to the new generations. It's a treasure trove of legacy tech.
Computer Chronicles was like the chronicles of my backyard pretty much. Grew up in Palo Alto. Worked for several years SQE @ Apple Computer During the return of Steve Jobs and transition to OSX. Amazing times. Things are too woke now unfortunately. Great to see Stewart. Sharp as ever.
Thanks to Stewart’s and Gary’s foresight and brilliant presentation throughout the ‘80s and the ‘90s made a host of computer products- including Comdex- to millions. And now, thanks to archive.org and RUclips, everyone can watch the evolution of personal tech unfold..
I wish I had had access to The Computer Chronicles back then. I lived in a small town in Europe. Our local library had ONE book on BASIC programming. That was it. No news stands with magazines. No nothing. It was SO hard to get information about tech and computers.
I hated seeing his show go off the air. I get that home computers had become mainstream by 2002, but I enjoyed this show so much and would still watch it if it were on.
Computer Chronicles were the only computer reviewers that gave fair reviews for the ATARI ST and Commodore AMIGA computers . Both personal computers were better than any overrated and overpriced Wintel or Apple PC .
Ahh man, he's really starting to get old compared to how he was just 5 years ago being interviewed in 2015 by TMCrole. Stewart seems to have also removed alot of stuff from that room he's in there, compared to how it was in there 5 years ago. An incredibly rare opportunity missed here with basic questions and nothing in depth asked. Wasted.
The thing about spelling his name is kinda funny, here in the titling of the chapters it also is done wrong. If i may be so bold to point that out. (please forgive my mistakes, i am not native English speaker).

At 8:30 I was yelling at my screen "VISICALC!"

Stewart Cheifet is a legend as is Gary Kildall

Been binge-watching The CC like crazy.

These days, you'd be praying a fistfight doesn't erupt between the point people for competing products.
He is still great. Would love to see him presenting some show or podcast or something else

We have techquickie and shows like Paul’s hardware etc.
@@Finallybianca Good shout, but theres no Cheifet!
Thousands of years from now classrooms about his show will be super popular as a sort of genesis of our 21st Century
2:25 - We had some weird things happen
Legend has it that John C Dvorak is still putting that PS/2 back together to this day.

I remember looking forward to the weekly shows.
Love this man! He is my entire childhood!
He's in pretty good shape, he should do more stuff!
The need to make new computer chronicles episodes. Stewart is awesome.
Awesome I love watching the reruns of the computer chronicles on RUclips 😎
I salute thee Mr. Cheifet
I would love to see him back doing computer chronicles new tech discovery coming soon your host the one and only Stuart chiefet hehe
thanks for this interview, it was great to watch him talk so well
Glad to see stewart cheifet always learned a lot & enjoyed watching his programs sadly gary kildall is not with us but his contributions will ever be remembered.
I'm not a nerd but I really love old PCs and Computer Chronicles
fond memories of watching him and gary kildall. he's lost the enormous comb over.
So cool to see him in modern (as I type this) times, still engaged and knowledgeable of where technology is and of how far it’s come since the run of the show. I still get a kick out of watching those old episodes. 🤓
Good communicator, still is.
Compliments to the Cheifet

His Twitter handle no longer active since last year. Hope he’s doing well.
Same with His website.
One of my favorite people! I'd love to meet him

Linus in 40yrs
Love to see Stewart
Stewart finally shouting out the games
I hated seeing his show go off the air. I get that home computers had become mainstream by 2002, but I enjoyed this show so much and would still watch it if it were on.
John C Dvorak shoutout! In the morning!
PROTECT THIS AMERICAN ICON AT ALL COST!!!
very cool
robot wars sounds absolutely amazing. is there anything like that now
Yes, there's a similar programming game called _Core War_ and which has open-source implementations available for free.
Computer Chronicles were the only computer reviewers that gave fair reviews for the ATARI ST and Commodore AMIGA computers . Both personal computers were better than any overrated and overpriced Wintel or Apple PC .
I wish you would have asked him why Maria Gabriel always delayed while saying her last name.
👍
He talks about Robot Wars on this show at 9:33 - but he talks himself about a new version in ruclips.net/video/n9rUw-Jls8w/видео.html

Odd that he has his breathing tubes through his ears .
