You just saved me a fuck load of money, thank you man, I have a 2008 ford f150 xlt and my fuse was in the same spot and it was bad, I also checked my wiring harness under the driver side door and it too was “packed full of fuckin dirt” but thank you so fuckin much for saving my ass! You are one true life saver!
1 million thanks for your video because I was panicking about my gauge didn't work but hopefully I found your video. I am aware of that I worked in my interior light and there was a spark. I checked the fuse 24 as you instructed, finally it was it's. Thanks again buddy
If you’re seeing this you’re probably having this erratic gas gauge problem like I was… I did clean dirty connection on frame rail, Nope.. I did replace fuse 24, Nope… I also replaced fuse 21!!! Bingo! So replace 21 & 24 .. clean those connections anyway ya filthy animals 😎 mine is 2007 F150…5.4 lt V8…150k miles Now like the video neither of those mentioned gas gauge in manual , but I read this in f150 forum
thanx for your help! I just had the same problem with my 07. busted wire in the harness under the drivers side. glad I watched your video before I replaced the pump!
@@jimmybonez25 it was the #24 fuse. The overhead light circuit shifted and shorted it out. I fixed the overhead short and swapped the fuse. Back like new.
Any idea of which fuse it might be for a 2012 lincoln navigator L? It's obviously a different layout for the fuses. I'm having the same erratic fuel guage issues, and I have replaced the fuel sender unit already. Thanks
I'll be trying these steps today. But was wondering when I start my truck all gauges move all the way then back to starting position then so on. Except my fuel gauge which hits dead empty every time after it slides to full on startup. It apparently works but says empty after that even know I just topped it off. So fingers crossed.
So mine started acting up so I cleand it out but 2 of the female pins had burn marks on it and now the gage doesn't even move can I jump the plug for just those two wires and do you know what the color pattern for the gauge is
2014 f150 4x4 fuel gauge/ millage range not working properly, just filled up the gas tank and my tank level went to full but the millage counter only to 352 miles any ideas out there?
aj shaw sorry for the delay on the response. But I’ve heard of the wires coming apart from the terminals and the connection. Maybe try a pull test on wires, don’t pull to hard if one is broken it should pull out easily. If one is broken just bypass the connection with a new piece of wire and butt connection. If all is good then more troubleshooting is needed.
My gauge works fine from full down to half a tank. That's where it stops. What are the chances this issue can be caused by the things you show in this video?
Kar D sometimes there packed with dirt to where you can’t depress the release clip. Clean it really good as best as you can. Mine was really difficult to pull apart, Even after I got release clip working. Just gotta work at it and patience.
Kar D maybe try some dielectric grease on that plug. Also check that wiring both directions, as far as you can. Also where the wiring enter the connector, do a pull test on all the wires. Sometimes they corrode right there.

Thank you, changing fuse #24 did the trick. This was very helpful.
agitaitis where is #24
Mine was not too dirty, but tapping the dirt out of the harnesses with the butt-end of a screwdriver worked!
Thank you my man you save me I would’ve never figured out that fuse number 24 for my fuel gauge
You are great man. The unmarmed fuse was it. Changed it and worked great. Thank you.
I just checked my fuse on my 2008 F-150 and it was blown. Just replaced and the fuel gauge works again..thanks for the video brother!

Potentiometer or rheostat is on the fuel pump itself. And all ties into that wiring harness. I don't know of a specific link. @MXb7r
You just saved me from getting a new fuel sending unit!
Glad I could help.
Please leave comments on exactly what you found wrong.

Where was that first connection
Hey man got a quick question what’s the wiring harness called like part wise ? Gotta replace the whole damn thing
Try this part number. Not a 100% this is the right one. 6L3Z14407A

Check that plug, and clean it real good.
@beertrain Did it work? Mine does the same
How did you disconnect the wiring? I checked my fuse and it’s still good but can’t seem to disconnect the wiring.

Which front door I got 2 of them

Does this trip the computer?
