It’s great when you are from a TT family, their uncle is Christophe Legoût, a great French player and their father was Stephane was once ranked 7th in France. Most great players have it in the family, great/free coaching and trusted guides. Lucky devils.

Felix played great. I am not worried about his development. Still growing, amazing prodigy. Upside is top 10. I'll even give him 6 years to be top 3 in the world. This kid is special. Do you know, he will only be 22 in 6 years? Please... I have no problem with this match. Too many of us living in the Tik-Tok generation.

Didn't follow Zhou that much before this match but recall how Wang Chu Qin and Lin Gao Yuan worked their way way up from a few years back. Now think Zhou is going the same path. The Chinese coaches really have their expertise and foresight. Best luck to him. Another rising/promising Chinese player is Lin Shi Dong. Give him another few years' experience for confidence and stronger mentality, he'll be in the top five for sure.

Felix will be a world champion some day. Zhou Qihao beat Ma Long, Wang Chuqin and Fan Zhendong in a row prior to the 2021 Olympics. He is the best player in the world when the consistency is there for him. So no shame losing to him. Felix has plenty of time to catch up, which he will.

At such high level, basic skill is a must for sure but winning factors rely on mentality, consistency, persistency and momentum plus a bit of luck. Just learned these pro's are using special racket and rubbers so customized/tuned that only THEY know how to use them, individually. That means even we can find/buy the same equipments but it could be a waste of time/huge disappointment at our level. Their drives are much more linear and low throw (just crossing above the net then dip) so need much higher technique and very hard to manipulate. Pro's are pro's, no doubt about it.

Felix LEBRUN often resorts to tricks when trailing by a large margin, such as questioning the opponent's serve, or grumbling, to disrupt the opponent's mood and rhythm. Although he is a very excellent athlete, this kind of behavior is really not good.

Liu Guolang, the chinese table tennis legend as player and coach, once said that he concerns about the popularity of table tennis more than the results of matches. Heavyweight balls are stupid stuff in table tennis. They make table tennis become bored with very few touches in every balls series, and with more offgame time, less long rallies, less visual athletic skills shows. Simple reason : heavyweight balls fly too lightening fast, and players can not succeed to react to apply techniques. (All heavyweight objects like stones and heavyweight balls can fly lightening fast in air, but lightweight objects as small lightweight paper box can not fly fast in air due to effectively air resistence). The less touches in every ball series, the less ongame time, the more offgame time, and players lose more their time for offgame time to go to pick up balls.
HEAVYWEIGHT BALLS MAKE TABLE TENNIS MANUFACTURER AND PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS TO BECOME POORER AND POORER, because heavyweight balls make table tennis extremely difficult to play amateur social games for new beginners. Thus majority of new beginners leave away from table tennis, and there be very few new beginners still keep playing table tennis (extremely difficult to play game for beginners).
It requires few weeks of training for new beginners to reach minimal amateur levels to play amateur social games in other sport, for example in badminton, billards, .. . BUT IT REQUIRES FEW YEARS OF TRAINING FOR NEW BEGINNERS TO REACH MINIMAL AMATEUR LEVEL TO PLAY AMATEUR SOCIAL TABLE TENNIS GAMES. It is very stupid big time training requirement for beginners in table tennis, thus majority of new beinners just leave table tennis. I personally see much many real life cases today : private commercial table tennis club halls are revamped to become badminton club halls, because table tennis is extreme difficult to attract enough number of new beginners to get profit for running commercial table tennis clubs as commercial social sport services. If commercial private table tennis halls have high ceils, then their owners often cancel table tennis club services to convert halls into commercial badminton clubS or other sport services halls to get profit, because there are very few new amateur table tennis players.
The reason of stiff difficulty of table tennis for new beginners : heavyweight balls make table tennis to be extremely difficult for new beginners : they fly extremely lightening fast in air, and they are difficult to control for beginners. Lightweight balls will make table tennis become extreme easier for new beginners : they fly slower in air, they are easier to control for beginners. With lightweight balls, every ball series will have more touches in average. Thus table tennis matches will have more ongame time and less offgame times, thus players have more ongame time. And professional table tennis matches will become more entertaining and attractive, because players have enough time to react to visually apply various techniques. Amateur players pay their time to play table tennis matches for health and social fun/communication, thus the more offgame time, the more waste time for players !
Everyone can try lightweight balls, for example 2gr balls, to feel how extremely more easily to play table tennis with LIGHTWEIGHT BALLS OF 2 GRAMS. .
The next balls of table tennis must be lightweight balls, for example, 2-2.5gr balls instead of the current heavyweight 2.7gr balls.
The result of lightweight balls will be staggering : there will be more billion new beginners come and keep playing table tennis with new lightweight balls of 2gr, because lightweight balls do not require stupid few years of training to reach minimal amateur level to play amateur social table tennis game, but lightweight balls require only few weeks of training enough to play amateur social table tennis games. Of course, it leads to boost increadible big scale business of table tennis equipment manufacturers, it leads to increadible big number of table tennis audience of professional tournaments . Because new billion beginners will play and keep playing the easier version of table tennis with lightweight balls 2-2.5gram, but not the current stupid extreme difficult version of table tennis with heavyweight balls 2.7gram. The more new beginners keep playing table tennis as amateur players, the more table tennis audience and spectators and new clients of table tennis equipment manufacturers. They will be billion ones, once lightweight balls 2-2.5gram are applied in table.
MUST STOP USING THE CURRENT HEAVYWEIGHT BALLS OF 2.7GRAM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. MUST APPLY NEW LIGHTWEIGHT BALLS OF 2-2.5GRAMS IN MODERN TABLE TENNIS TO BOOST THE SPORT INTO NEW LEVEL OF POPULARITY AND ATTRACTIVENESS.

R.I.P. Western players in TT. Imagine how boring would be watching a Tennis match having same country dominating for 20 years straight without actual contenders threating its dominance? That's is what we have in Table Tennis today.
