0:22:00 I think this is set in Keifeng. That's where a Xiangguo (大相国, actually Great Xiangguo) temple is or was. Kaifeng is roughly in between Shandong and Xi'an. Chagatai, son of Ghengis, was based up in there somewhere. " . . . and in 1705, the last Chagatai khan was removed from power, ending the dynasty of Chagatai." The woman is from some central Asian tribal inroad into China up in there. "The Ming Dynasty ruled China from A.D. 1368 to 1644" 1:04:08 "Back to Beijing". The Yongle Emperor moved the capital of the Ming dynasty from Nanjing to Beijing in 1421. By that point in the movie, they've referred to "the central plains", which fits my reference above with Kaifeng in its middle. There have been several capitals of China, some simultaneously.

"Jiangzhou Prefecture (Shanxi), a prefecture in modern Shanxi, China between the 6th and 20th centuries" since Shanxi is up in the northwest around where the "Tatar" state would have been. Just east of Xi'an. But the Chinese spelling is completely different. Here is a better suggestion: "Jiangzhou City is a fictional city commonly seen in mainland Chinese film and television dramas."
