Mate great video. Just a handy tip - if your draw rope breaks it's not the end of the world. You can use a small plastic bag with your new rope attached to it. Stick the bag in one end and vacuum it out the other. Can use a blower sometimes too. Also just be cognisant of the guidelines with electrical depth and concrete depth requirements. 👍👍
Hi mate philip walter here i watch SSA when i can You mentioned shooting clays from back of ship in 1973 i was on the fairstar cruise we shot 2 italian o/u shotguns on the trip back from N.Z. it was 5c a shot i spent $150 in 2 days had a ball we had to rest every so often to let guns cool down No seagulls were harmed on the cruise
just an FYI for cables berried less than 500mm you need at minimun 75mm on concrete above the cable and a minimum of 300mm cable depth, any less than that it would need to be an armoured cable.
Awesome video. I am doing a short run from the house to the carport and have one question - does the conduit have to be orange and 40 mm diameter? Are there any regulations in Australia that specify which type/colour of conduit should be used? I used the usual grey one and put the tape over it. A great piece of advice to bury the shallower sections in concrete, which I will do this weekend! Thanks again for the video!
@@buildingstuffaustralia360 Thanks. Yes I put a warning tape above it but still wonder if I could leave it in grey conduit? Am I breaking any laws here or risk a fine? Just need to be clear.
@@buildingstuffaustralia360 Yeah, but its not technically legal. The electrician is suposed to do the consuit and cabling work. I guess you did check with them cable and conduit sizes?
Excellent video, very informative, simple and concise!
Thanks
It great to see tricks of the trade for those of us not in the building game. 👍

If the draw line breaks, use a vacuum cleaner to suck a replacement line through the conduit.
Thanks

Has to be orange for it to be visible and same either tape.

Is the cable a special type for in ground?
No just the right thickness.
@@buildingstuffaustralia360thanks!
Why did they drag a self pulling trencher, hold it back and let it drive with the chain to pull forward
It wasn't self propelled as I said in the video it was a manual one.
G'day
lose the heavy music, its not necessary in a serious technical video, it spoils it completely
As a sparky I do all the work or none, lot more involved than sticking a cable in a conduit
That's exactly what it is. Dig hole. Cables in conduit. Then cover with dirt. Couldn't get any easier.
I have know problem with the customer doing it as long as I can see it all before its covered and then I say your not getting that on your ccew..

@@zoltrix7779 totally wrong.
@@buildingstuffaustralia360 I happy to be corrected, can you point me to where I can check this?
