Hi! I can just smell the coconut 🥥 goodness! Loved that you used coconutmilk instead of regular milk. That would bring out more of the coconut flavor .😋 Thank you so much for sharing!
I tried this recipe and out of all of the recipes that I've tried, this one hit the money!!!! It was so moist and lasted for days. Ended up having to put some in the freezer because it made more than 2 of us could eat. I'll be making this for my family in Georgia next weekend. Thank you and please do more recipes
It tasted Soooo GOOOOOD!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! I was like a lil kid waiting to open Christmas gifts when it was in the oven 🤣🤣🤣 added a ton of sugar to one of them after I had rolled it the second time. Came out sweeter and softer than the others
I had dumb bread from a bakery in St. Thomas nearly thirty years ago. I thought it tasted like a coconut version of the Southern style shortcakes we make, similar to a sweetened biscuit (a US type biscuit, not a British cookie-type biscuit.) I began making my version when I got back home. My family loved it. After my children grew up and moved away, I stopped making it until today. I made it with coconut oil instead of Crisco and butter and used coconut cream that I thinned out. It is delicious! Your recipe is like the dumb bread from the Virgin Islands and very similar to how I make it. The other recipes I have found are yeast breads. I am sure that they are good but I am crazy about the taste and ease of making a quick bread. Thank you for sharing!
Aww thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me. I truly appreciate it . Tbh this is how I now make my dumb bread due to the fact that I am now Plant based my lifestyle & eating habits has changed drastically. I'm thinking about really sharing my new journey with everyone soon vegan Caribbean dishes i now cook and bake would that be something you're interested in? Please let me know! Stay safe and have a great week!

Hi, I am excited to try! What kind of coconut to use? Freshly grated, sweetened or unsweetened shredded coconut?
Hey 👋🏾 Freshly grated coconut is always better but what ever you have available at the time is fine too.

Looks good but Pertaining to the milk and butter.. can milk or bottle milk, as for the butter.. salted or unsalted
I used bottle milk but I really don’t think it matters because I’ve even tried using almond milk it came out perfect... I also used salted butter .
