Marissa reminds me of how i feel when I listen to Leonard Cohen...calm, poetic, grounded but completely ethereal..when I'm ready to sink into my soul, dig deeper into secrets, stories, lies, layers... not run away but plunge under. The sounds embrace me, I feel, everything washes over me, I float on.
What a sensitive musician. Love, regret, pain, and solitude right through. But she makes clear by the tone of her last song that there's still love at the end, that she will still forgive. Even her words "Maybe it's the weather, but I've got nothing in my heart" sounds like a playful phrase when enlivened by the forward-looking music with a message to move on in life with love and joy.
I just discovered this artist's music and I'm really enjoying it. I feel at peace studying and just working on some other things in my room listening to this.
Encore une découverte!! il faut remercier les personnes qui postent ces disques pour nous permettre de découvrir des voix, des ambiances, des sonorités et de jolies mélodies.
For me, as a new fan of MN, she is a beautiful mix between Lana del Rey and Sharon van Etten with here and there a pinch of Kate Bush and First Aid Kit. But I think for me, she will very soon just be Marissa, in her own style and ambiance.
funny how her voice sounds like lana del rey voice. I wonder all the time if maybe lana did a secret album. however, I must admit that this album is much more studied from the song´s structure point of view. I wish there would be few faster melodies now and then because so many slow pieces make it a bit too monotonous

Album of the year for me. Hit the spot right in the nail! "Maybe it's the weather, but I got nothing in my heart."

Hard to believe, but she supported Xasthur on Portal of Sorrow.
lana eres tu?
This is a Lana Del Rey clone. They could tour together
An advert in the middle of a beautiful song? Really? Your need for money is that much, you have to monetise like this?

Exactly her voice! Erstaunlich!
the reference...O__________O
is that you Lana?
I'd ask Lana that question in reference to Marissa, actually. Lana's not the original.
Lana sucks
Marissa Nadler has been making good music since the early 2000s - the world's just been slow to catch on
maybe it was the burrito, but there's something in my farts...
