Slow and steep turn stalled the left wing causing the plane to go into the notoriously deadly "Stall-Spin" situation without enough altitude to recover. If he'd been maybe 200 feet higher he'd probably have been okay there. Really hard lesson, but one that will probably stick with him for a long time. Check out "RamyRC"s video of his 787 crash, the same thing happened to him. Steep turns are super easy to misjudge speed on with RC aircraft.
This is what scares me away from making big models. You put your heart and soul, months of work, and thousands of dollars into it and one mistake can cause it to crash to the ground in seconds. Yes, you have to be a pro to make and fly one, but even professions aren't safe from the occasional technical glitch. It would break my heart to see something I worked so hard on and spent so much money on just explode into a million pieces. There's no fixing something like that!
At least the electronics and servos, are probably, recoverable, but all the work put into that airframe ugh ! Literally fall apart like a bag of water hitting the ground.

I lost my lunch, but I would have anyway since the shrimp they served was room temperature. I'd like a refund...
As previously referred to, looks like a stall while turning. Easily done! This was last in a series of similar circuits, all using rather more bank than an airliner would (max 25-30 degrees). Also, all previous circuits were done with a little flap, but gear up. This time gear was down which adds considerable drag maybe even 100% more (from my experience of flying B767).
yeah, I mean, what the pilot expected flying so slow with that amount of bank? I´ve seen this so many time in the airfields...the guys are afraid of opening up the corners just to keep the plane close in case of engine malfuction, then they end up making those crazy approximations with steep turns and coming super high during their final approach, not realistic at all and way riskier...

This video reminds me of my dad's experience with RC airplanes. He was so proud of that model Tri-Pacer. He had been a part owner of a Tri-Pacer back in the 1950s but my mom made him sell his interest after I was born. The very first flight the thing flew great for 3 or 4 minutes and then suddenly made a steep dive into the parking lot. I still have the motor from it in its original box. It is a Fox 40 RC single-cylinder motor that cost $24.95 at Model's Hobby somewhere in Detroit new back in the good old days. A very low time engine from the 1960s that worked great for a few minutes once, in almost-new condition. Bent throttle linkage. Make offer.
