Even though, I don't support Soriel ship, I still would like to watch this video because I would like to see how good is the comics and the story. But asgore fully admits what he did was wrong, he declared war in a fit of anger, and didnt want to dissapoint his kingdom. As for the souls, he could've done that, but he probably thought that if he waited underground eventually no more humans will fall, so he could call off his war.
