Russian composer, Igor Krutoy wrote this song specially for Dimash at his request. Together, the two of them have created many beautiful new songs. Igor writes specially to cater to Dimash’s exceptional range, ability and technique. Igor had already retired but he came out of retirement to work with Dimash. In a Russian TV interview, Igor said his mother had told him he needs to write songs for younger singers. But he replied that there aren’t any younger singers who can sing his songs. That’s why he decided to retire... and then he met Dimash. And the rest as they say, is history.
It depends what part of the voice you use I guess, but with chest voice it definitely helps to push more air through to reach the higher notes. As soon as you reach head voice/falsetto though I do agree, it doesn’t require more air
According to vocal coach reactors and vocal coaches that I've known personally, higher notes require less air than lower notes. The vocal chords are closer together so less air needs to come through. That in no way negates the need for incredible breath control for him to accomplish the notes that he does.
