Advanced Warfare's movement is not "clunky". Saying it's worse than BO3 and IW is like saying Tekken is worse than Smash because you jump in mid-air 5 times and run the speed of an Olympic track star. Honestly AW shouldn't even be grouped in with those 2 games. Its philosophy when it comes to the design of its movement mechanics is far, FAR closer to MW19/VANGUARD's Tac Sprinting and Climbing.
I think clunky was the wrong word for it. More jerky and less controllable than BO3/IW. You just boost in whatever direction you want but BO3/IW you can control how much you boost. I think AW felt the least like COD because it didn’t keep gun fights on the ground. But the real reason it was the worst is because of the pay to win micro transactions and heavy SBMM they introduced to COD. Issues we have dealt with ever since

I don’t think it was awful. Now, I think I would move it up a spot. But I think the strengths of IW were its campaign and zombies, not the multiplayer!

I'll probably get a lot of hate for it but I loved every Black Ops before Cold War since I never played it I personally enjoyed MW3 because it was the first game I got Gold Camo on a sniper (L118A to be exact) followed by Black Ops 2 then Black Ops 3 where I got Dark Matter before even reaching Master Prestige

Cold War moves down because of the heavy SBMM and it just feels like a sweaty and they care more about Warzone than the multiplayer. And IW I think fell down because it was released with COD4 remastered and people were done with advanced movement games. It just had a really small player base. Ghosts was almost really good if they just fixed the terrible maps.

You absolutely nailed these rankings. Its not even close that bo2 is not only the best multiplayer of all time but the COD of all time. Bo2 also my favorite COD in the franchise along with it being my favorite game ever created. Also i love how you base the game off of the reasons as to why their good or bad

In Warzone the ttk was lowered but the multiplayer still has the same ttk as before. MW2019 only has 2 good modes, S&D/2v2. It is way too slow paced for an arcade shooter!

I think BOCW multiplayer is overhated. Yes SBMM was really bad (it didn’t ruin the experience for me though) scorestreak system was meh, but the maps were mostly great, TTK was perfect, gun balance was great, and there is a lot of different playlists. If we are talking launch BOCW, then yeah the ranking makes sense (perhaps would be even lower) but how the game is now, I personally think it is a top 5 cod MP.
Mw2019 is top 3 for me as an snd player it was fun, and i dont think the complaint of ttk is fair since mw2 is rated so much higher despite having a way faster ttk

For me MW2019 had a great SnD mode and 2v2/3v3 was fun. But the rest of the game modes were unplayable. I got my enjoyment from Warzone and not multiplayer with MW2019. But bringing friends back together was great. MW2019 benefited greatly from the quarantine 😂
@@AscendAR If MW2019 had some sort of Face Off mode like with MW3, I believe it could have benefited greatly from it. If it got as much support as MW3 did, with new DLC Face Off maps every season, it would have been the most played mode besides SND and possibly revived the game

BO3 is arguably the best COD, the multiplayer felt so great, the maps were incredible literally even the worst map in BO3 was enjoyable (EVAC) the supply drop system was great cause the weapons weren’t better than the default classes like AW. Specialists were great made the game so much fun and refreshing and the game didn’t feel like a sweat fest, the game was so good that it came out in 2015 and since IFW and WW2 were so bad the community kept playing BO3 for 3 years until Fortnite became prime in 2018. Last good COD wish they made games like this not like the new modern warfare that feels so sweaty and not enjoyable. My next 2 favourtites are MW3 and BO2 had great times in those as well

I've played all of these games extensively up to 2019. BO1 was magical, no other COD had that feeling that BO1 did. BO2 is honestly 4 in my opinion, I'm running mw 3 or 2 any day over it
Black Ops II is easily my favorite. There are so many viable and fun weapons, although I prefer the SCAR-H. I actually like the semi-futuristic setting. Maps like Raid, Plaza, and Hijacked are top tier.
@@AscendAR BO4 is easy for a CW player to get into due to CW running on a very similar version of the BO4 engine. It has less op weapons than CW (Hades Crossbar is the only real OP gun, compared to CWs LC10, Tec-9, LMGs), better maps (albeit less maps), and while the lack of a campaign seems bad, going off on how bad BO3s campaign was, and the campaign leaks, I don’t believe it would have been good at all

All I want is a double package of MW3/MW2 online, the exact same system & way it ran back in the day just with updated graphics. I’d pay several hundred dollars for that bundle. Throw Bo2 in there & they might legit get an entire paycheck from me.

Good list, though I'll prolly switch places of MW2019 and Vanguard, as somehow MW2019 felt better. Cold War is close call too, but I guess Cold War had a little more fast paced gameplay (also MW2 2022 is nearly at the same spot as MW2019 or a place lower).
It's a crime to put BO3 above CoD4. BO3 sucked. Advanced movement and class-based ability bullshit has no place in CoD. CoD4 is the best game in the series and it isn't even that close, honestly. Not only is CoD4 the most innovative game in the series, it's also got the best gunplay, best netcode, and best set of maps in the series. Not to mention it has the best PC community, with tons of mods and dedicated player-run servers.
COD4 definitely helped moved the franchise forward with create a class and killstreaks but it definitely isn’t the best multiplayer ever. Other games contributed to moving the franchise forward. MW2 implemented more killstreaks, like the nuke, and pro perks. BO1 created the points system to unlock things and wager matches, party games. Then BO2 created the pick 10 system, scorestreaks, and the best competitive playlist of all time, league play! Lots a games did great things and COD4 was a great start but not the best ever in my opinion.
Is it just me or would everyone rather them reskin all of the bo1 maps and update the movement a bit rather than them using all of their time to make massive maps that no one wants to play kinda disappointed with what I’ve seen in the beta so far 😔

I think we can all agreed that Ps3/Xbox360 COD games are better. The only COD games i've disliked since then are AW, IW, BO4 & Cold War. The others are decent and can be fun at times. I have 1-1.5kd in every COD multiplayer so probably represent the average player.
Why would anyone? SBMM should be reserved for “league play” when people are trying to play competitively. When people are just trying to enjoy a game they don’t want to have to play against sweaty players all the time. SBMM in public matches ruins the casual experience. Lobbies should be based on connection only, then balance the teams inside the lobby. I’m trying to play cod for fun, not competitively!
@@AscendAR ok that makes sense. I always thought sbmm was better so that someone who barley plays the game doesnt get into a lobby with some super sweat with like a 4.0 k/d. Always looked at it as keeping people in their skill bracket so nobody gets absolutely pooped on. But you changed my mind. I think the in lobby team balancing is great. So the lower skill players in the lobbies will be split up onto different teams. Allowing everyone to still get some kills. Thank you! Appreciate that
Good players complain about SBMM because they can't play against crappy players. SBMM helps the average/majority of players play without getting stomped by competitive players. I don't really care if its in the game personally.
@@AscendAR understandable, its our own opinions and we all have different taste so I respect yours. my reasons for not liking vanguard is just its nothing like refreshing and the maps are generic, gameplay isn't that fun to me personally and has problems with killstreaks and weapon balancing. It isn't like complete garbage I can have some fun from time to time with friends but not the best. And the reason why I love bo2 is the map design, weapons, soundtrack is unique and the game was so fun to play. It was very innovative like customising your profile. Prestiging your weapons. Scorestreaks were amazing!
Yeah the multiplayer was trash outside of search & destroy! Awful maps, awful pacing, safe spaces, and loads of camping. COD is an arcade shooter and this is the slowest paced COD ever. Only 1 good mode doesn’t save an entire multiplayer!
The maps were that bad, arguably the worst ever! WW2 I could see an argument to be worse but 0 chance BO4 is worse. Only thing I’d change on the list is putting vanguard below it, making it the 3rd worst multiplayer

I explained why I ranked the multiplayer at the bottom! It isn’t the least fun or worst but it added 2 plagues into the cod franchise. 1. Pay to win micro transactions. The weapon variants were far better than the base weapons with no way to unlock them outside of the loot crates, which you could buy to increase your chances of unlocking the good variants. BO3’s was not nearly as bad because the “DLC” weapons weren’t far better than the base weapons. Still a bad unlock system. 2. Heavy SBMM. They used the SBMM that they used to in competitive modes, like arenas instead of having connection be the priority in public matches. This is insane and ruins the casual experience to protect the bottom 10% of the community. You can’t use random loadouts for fun, you have to use the meta weapons to have any chance of doing well. Takes the fun out of the game and it still plagues cod to this day. AW isn’t bad for the game itself but bad for what it did to the COD franchise.

I quite liked iw I even liked how you don’t have to buy cod points to get the best guns. It was abit of a grind to get but overall Idm

@@AscendAR it’s hard for me to pick between them, their both so good. But I feel like lots of tier list do underrate MW3. And some of my favorite COD campaigns as well
BO1 > MW2 > CoD4 > BO2 > MW2019 > WaW > MW3 > BO3 > BOCW > MW2022 > AW > BO4 > WWII > Ghosts > IW > Vanguard

That’s a fair switch! I made this after only playing vanguard for a little bit. And after more experience on the game…. I would definitely put it below MW19 😂
@@AscendAR But why? The only two things you mentioned were the killstreak system which was present in your #2 ranking and the spawns which drastically improved before season 3
Good list, though I'll prolly switch places of MW2019 and Vanguard, as somehow MW2019 felt better. Cold War is close call too, but I guess Cold War had a little more fast paced gameplay (also MW2 2022 is nearly at the same spot as MW2019 or a place lower).
It's a crime to put BO3 above CoD4. BO3 sucked. Advanced movement and class-based ability bullshit has no place in CoD.
CoD4 is the best game in the series and it isn't even that close, honestly. Not only is CoD4 the most innovative game in the series, it's also got the best gunplay, best netcode, and best set of maps in the series. Not to mention it has the best PC community, with tons of mods and dedicated player-run servers.
COD4 definitely helped moved the franchise forward with create a class and killstreaks but it definitely isn’t the best multiplayer ever. Other games contributed to moving the franchise forward. MW2 implemented more killstreaks, like the nuke, and pro perks. BO1 created the points system to unlock things and wager matches, party games. Then BO2 created the pick 10 system, scorestreaks, and the best competitive playlist of all time, league play! Lots a games did great things and COD4 was a great start but not the best ever in my opinion.
Is it just me or would everyone rather them reskin all of the bo1 maps and update the movement a bit rather than them using all of their time to make massive maps that no one wants to play kinda disappointed with what I’ve seen in the beta so far 😔
That sounds good to me 😂People use to complain about each COD game being too similar.... but now I wish they just copy their older games but with updated movement/graphics

I think we can all agreed that Ps3/Xbox360 COD games are better. The only COD games i've disliked since then are AW, IW, BO4 & Cold War. The others are decent and can be fun at times. I have 1-1.5kd in every COD multiplayer so probably represent the average player.
A lot of people say gaming peaked during that era and it’s been declining ever since.

Why do people not like sbmm
Why would anyone? SBMM should be reserved for “league play” when people are trying to play competitively. When people are just trying to enjoy a game they don’t want to have to play against sweaty players all the time. SBMM in public matches ruins the casual experience. Lobbies should be based on connection only, then balance the teams inside the lobby. I’m trying to play cod for fun, not competitively!
@@AscendAR ok that makes sense. I always thought sbmm was better so that someone who barley plays the game doesnt get into a lobby with some super sweat with like a 4.0 k/d. Always looked at it as keeping people in their skill bracket so nobody gets absolutely pooped on. But you changed my mind. I still like sbmm cause i like to play as best as possible at all times but i can see now why others dont like it. Thanks. Great video by the way.
I think the in lobby team balancing is great. So the lower skill players in the lobbies will be split up onto different teams. Allowing everyone to still get some kills. Thank you! Appreciate that
Good players complain about SBMM because they can't play against crappy players. SBMM helps the average/majority of players play without getting stomped by competitive players.

@@AscendAR understandable, its our own opinions and we all have different taste so I respect yours. my reasons for not liking vanguard is just its nothing like refreshing and the maps are generic, gameplay isn't that fun to me personally and has problems with killstreaks and weapon balancing. It isn't like complete garbage I can have some fun from time to time with friends but not the best. And the reason why I love bo2 is the map design, weapons, soundtrack is unique and the game was so fun to play. It was very innovative like customising your profile. Prestiging your weapons. Scorestreaks were amazing!

Yeah the multiplayer was trash outside of search & destroy! Awful maps, awful pacing, safe spaces, and loads of camping. COD is an arcade shooter and this is the slowest paced COD ever. Only 1 good mode doesn’t save an entire multiplayer!

The maps were that bad, arguably the worst ever! WW2 I could see an argument to be worse but 0 chance BO4 is worse. Only thing I’d change on the list is putting vanguard below it, making it the 3rd worst multiplayer

How is AW bad?
I explained why I ranked the multiplayer at the bottom! It isn’t the least fun or worst but it added 2 plagues into the cod franchise.
1. Pay to win micro transactions. The weapon variants were far better than the base weapons with no way to unlock them outside of the loot crates, which you could buy to increase your chances of unlocking the good variants. BO3’s was not nearly as bad because the “DLC” weapons weren’t far better than the base weapons. Still a bad unlock system.
2. Heavy SBMM. They used the SBMM that they used to in competitive modes, like arenas instead of having connection be the priority in public matches. This is insane and ruins the casual experience to protect the bottom 10% of the community. You can’t use random loadouts for fun, you have to use the meta weapons to have any chance of doing well. Takes the fun out of the game and it still plagues cod to this day.
AW isn’t bad for the game itself but bad for what it did to the COD franchise.
