Just bought a 23 TRD OF over a Ranger. I'm a lifetime Ford guy, but the Tacoma is a simpler, more reliable, and better-looking midsized truck. But... Mustangs for life!!!
Honestly, I can’t think of a single TRD part that is worth the money. Better off buying aftermarket. Oil filter: get a Wix XP Intake: use the K&N (not the filter), and it isn’t for power. It’s for noise and to save space in the engine bay by getting rid of the resonance chambers Exhaust: just keep it stock. V6 noises are not good Skid plates: take your pick of aftermarket Wheels: again, take your pick Just my opinion. Love the vids but people usually buy the TRD stuff because of the badge
My thoughts as a mechanic of 20 years on oil changes is “ Oil is cheap, engines are not “. Change at minimum 5k on Full synthetics and 3k on the Dino sauce. Seen all makes and models last 300k with frequent oil changes on the original engine. Love Toyotas because very simple to maintain with no real huge issues usually. And the 4x4 fluids stay clean even at 300k with fluid changes every 50k or even 100k.
I want the TRD wheels but I also want a little bit of poke out... I was told i needed at least a -10 offset... 🤯🧐🤷🏻♀️ Just got my Taco and excited to mod it...
Look up FN wheels…they have TRD pro rims look-a-likes and they have a little more offset than the oem version. Or you can just get the oem version and get 1.25 inch spacers…that should get you around a -10 offset

I just want 2 in lift and a little poke out 😁😀
You’re starting off with a clean slate..my best advice for you is Don’t buy anything until you sit there and think it through on how you’re actually gonna be using your truck (overland, mall crawler, light adventures…etc). You will save so much money by just doing yourself that alone. A lot of people start off by keeping it simple (cheap lift & rims/tires) but then they start getting addicted and buying the more expensive stuff and redoing their setup all over again. As for spacers…they have a bad reputation for mainly 2 reasons…people like to go cheap and buy the Amazon special and they don’t properly torque&check their spacers. Don’t be cheap on something that’s holding your wheel on while you’re going 60+mph🤦♂️. Either buy spidertrax or bora spacers and make sure they are hub centric, also buy the ET lug nuts

Ahhh the keep it simple build. 2.5 shocks non-resi (your brand of choice). Icon RXT leaf pack (2nd or 3rd option) or if you plan to load heavy things (450lbs+)…go with drakkar HD leaf pack. Towing things to travel around…may wanna look into upgrading into a big brake kit (for safety reasons) stoptech or power brake. Does skid plate TRD will fit on 2nd gen 2013
Need your help. I’m buying a new/used Tacoma. Do parts from a TRD fit on an SR5?
Hey Chloe! Didn't you also have the TRD Fox suspension vs your Fox 2.5's?
Toyota doesn’t manufacture there own oil or filter it’s Rebox from mobile oil and filters are denzo
when is the 2024 trd lift kit going to be available for 2024 Tacoma trd off road?
watch the videos to look at a pretty woman, learned about tacomas in the process
Why your hair always on your face. What are you hiding.
I have a 19 and i used the trd air filter and oil filters i have the bed mat and floor mats
The carpet floor mats?
2 words: resale value.
I see a theme here

TRD = cool red accents and logos not much real performance. But i fell for it, got the trd intake, exhaust, and skid plate
What do you think of the intake and exhaust?
@@DB-qm4jx they make my truck look cooler. The exhaust barely sound any louder or different than stock. If you're looking for a little performance bump you're better off spending your money on an ECU tune
@@h2beezy2 very cool of you to respond. Thank you. I have the Trd filter without the intake box.
I put the exhaust tip on it wanted to do the exhaust trd. But for how much it cost I just still am on my fence
The oem skid plate is 2 pieces but the ted skid plate is much thicker stronger and durable. My first install i did
Hi Chloe, have you ever experienced popping sounds when you turn at slow speeds from the TRD skid plate? If so how did you fix it?
I'm fond of the factory 16" wheels on my '21 TRD Off Road. They fit perfectly and the price was right.
Really would like to get the TRD skid plate. Thanks for doing the giveaway
The trd oil filter does look better but when you install nobody will see it so why pay double for a trd when the regular oem works the same
Love the give-away too bad for us followers here in Canada.
All trd, flaunt it to the poor sr5 granpa's
As usual - a top notch video!! I really appreciate you sharing the cost. Thanks.
Its all about preference tbh
Awesome vlog👍🏽…Aloha🤙🏽
Thank you for the awesome Video
Good vid 🤙

I found your channel because I got a Tacoma after getting rid of my 2020 ranger and was researching all mods i could do, thank you for information, you adorably Rock!
Oil filter: get a Wix XP
Intake: use the K&N (not the filter), and it isn’t for power. It’s for noise and to save space in the engine bay by getting rid of the resonance chambers
Exhaust: just keep it stock. V6 noises are not good
Skid plates: take your pick of aftermarket
Wheels: again, take your pick
Just my opinion. Love the vids but people usually buy the TRD stuff because of the badge
@@DB-qm4jx the title of the video is Are TRD Parts worth the extra money…so the answer in my opinion is “no. Never”
@@chrisridebike8that’s not true. There’s a lot of reason to get TRD parts.
@@DB-qm4jx ok…like?
@@miked9261 I hear so much about spacers I truly don't know what to believe 🤣... Thank you for the info 😉.. I plan on doing a suspension lift (emu because of the comfort & towing)later on when I save up but for now do my wheels, tires with a leveling kit with an icon kit.. 🤷🏻♀️ But then I read why not to use a kit, heck idk 🤦🏻♀️😂!
@@miked9261 the only dirt I will be hitting in this truck is the quarter mile of dirt Rd to my driveway 🤣😂!! I wanna tow my HD to whenever on vacation and on occasion haul things.. I am 42, I don't wanna have to climb in it or break it climbing rocks 😂 or scratching it on trails 😁.. Thank you for the helpful tips 😉❤️!
Then look into aftermarket bumpstops to help prolong the life of your shocks and it makes the ride a little smoother…a brand like durobumps should do. I’m only a year older than you😂. Good luck with your build🤙
Don't buy stock rims just cause their trd. If your investing in new rims just get beadlocks. Your paying g to look stock 😂
It's been a minute Chloe, very happy to see all is well with you, almost send the hound dogs out for a health and comfort check, I'm like every day where is Chloe. yeah, she my girl Love you
