    Oops… heat sun glass and wax🫨
    Looks great! Can’t wait for the tour on Saturday!
    I’m catching up , was back East was nice and cool , lol 80 degrees but great ocean breeze. Came home to the Midwest 103 degrees on the road home. Was hot humid and did I say hot! !!!🥵 Cooler today , my cat sitter watered most of my plants because of the heat I gave them all tons of water. ( outdoor pots) some … maybe won’t make it. 😱😢
    Love the Orchids in the new pot. I have trouble getting mine to stabilize after transplanting, I do soak them well before , no luck… 😮😢
    Happy to see Toby doing well.
    Be well , stay safe . Happy Gardening!

      Thank you! Ouch! That's an abrupt weather change! It's been gross here! 😆 I'm not ready for fall, but I am over this heat!

    Have thought of using a bamboo runner instead of the clothing piece? I think it would match the furniture and it would make your items pop.

    You make things look so nice outside. Nobody is ever outside here so I don't bother. I am going to put a nice plant stand in the lanai and put some of the really big Anthurium on it because there isn't room for them in the house anymore. I didn't expect them to a) get so big b) do it so quickly

      Thanks! Yeah some of these aroids get huge and with good growers like you will get huge pretty fast! That will look neat outside!

    I got an AWESOME and special new tropical flowering tree for my birthday......it's a flowering size magnolia champaca (formally known as michelia champaca). I'm so excited I can't stand it, and I should have it by Friday....and yikes this plant wasn't cheap......it cost 70.00 just for the shipping alone.....I could have gone cheaper but all the smaller ones are seed grown and would have taken 8 to 10 years to bloom.... LOL I just turned 49 and who even knows if I have 10 years to wait

      @TropicalPlantParty  Месяц назад

      Omg how exciting! Those are gorgeous trees! You definitely did the right thing going with the larger size, would be a shame to have to wait up to a decade to see those magnificent flowers!

    The orchid I bought is growing so it appears that it likes its home outside for right now. The canes I think that’s what you call them are getting long. I THINK that I may keep it in the kitchen when I bring it inside because there’s more humidity in the kitchen and good lighting in a south facing window. Our bathroom has no natural light at all, that would have been my first choice to keep it in. I didn’t repot it when I received it because I’m scared to repot it BUT it looks like it’s trying to break out of its original pot. I hardly ever water it because it is SO humid outside but I think that maybe I should dunk it in my rain barrel for a good drink. Not sure though. I THINK that I may set up my growing room in the laundry room this winter, originally I was going to set it up in the basement but it makes more sense in the laundry room because it’s MUCH warmer in there. I just have to dig out the area. Because we live in an OLD house there’s not a lot of storage so the laundry room gets the over flow 😱 and when you’ve had as many people through the years living in our house things get left behind and I need to throw things out 😱 BUT I also have a hard time throwing things out, especially since I grew up in an era where things weren’t very plentiful and you kept things to repurpose them. So I guess it’s time to declutter if I want a room to grow my plants through the winter. 🌺💚🙃 sorry about the story time BUT as I watch this video there might be more story times 🤗 🌺💚🙃

      @TropicalPlantParty  Месяц назад

      😆 always enjoy your story times. It does sound like the laundry room would be a better option, but I dont blame ya for not wanting to hassle with the decluttering. Its amazing how things build up over the years!

    How is your I think it’s called dragon scale peperomia doing ? Mines still alive BUT the leaves are curling upwards on mine. Maybe not enough humidity? I think I saw that you had yours under a cloche? Maybe that’s my problem ? 🌺💚🙃

    • @TropicalPlantParty
      @TropicalPlantParty  Месяц назад

      Was just looking at mine and thinking about repotting it. It's doing ok, but has been a total water hog and the soil it's in is drying out every few days. I did have it under glass but recently took it out to see what it would do, and so far not noticing any difference, still seems thirsty and needing new soil.

    Your orchid arrangement has turned out beautiful Jeff. I love the idea of little balls of moss to cover up the clips, I may start using that idea on my orchids. Lovely to see little Toby recovering too. Your videos always fill my heart with joy. So thank you for sharing your journey. Sending lots of love xxx

    Be careful with the green escape. I bought three alocasia from them even though I only needed one. I bought two more of them because they were having a sale. They only sent two and when I asked for the third, they flat out refused. Etsy gave me a refund for all three alocasias even though I didn't ask for that. I didn't even want a refund. I just wanted the third one.

    I had questions for you but when I tried to ask on instagram I couldn't. I was hoping to ask your help about my Chinese fan palm. I don't know if I can even find response here again. I watch you on tv firestick but came here to do comment. I am in apt in zone 6. Also, wondering how you deal with spider mites with your tropicals. I gave up for good on ever having my favourite banana plants BC of that but still get on other plants including taro in pond in my kitchen. I LOVE that ponytail!!! I had the most gorgeous one that grew huge for years, it curled down under the pot on floor. I have rabbits not cats and the plant had the most perfect haircut all the way around it at about two foots height and then our other large breed rabbit finished it off. I then killed my tiny replacement lol. Love your turtle as well. I had a chameleon instead a while back :)

    • @TropicalPlantParty
      @TropicalPlantParty  29 дней назад +1

      Hello! 😆 I love rabbits, they do a good job "pruning" the plants.
      I use neem and/or diluted peppermint oil for most of my pest control. I prefer the peppermint oil for indoors bc I hate the smell of neem. I eyeball the dilution but I'd guess it's about 1 tablespoon per liter of water.
      With the taro in the pond, id just blast them off regularly with a hose since there aren't any safe solutions for spider mites that won't potentially harm aquatic life.

    • @SimplyShazelle
      @SimplyShazelle 29 дней назад

      @@TropicalPlantParty thanks :) I use bug be gone as told it was safe on taro, pond is only 55 gallon indoors in front of window in kitchen. Dunking it in the pond never worked lol.
      Can you help me with diagnosing my Chinese fan palm as you have some? I would need to send photos and explain.

    I love the lime Agave's in the lime pots. Dear lord you glue planters back together? What do you use on that? Ugh we had three 100 degree days and then a storm that had the sky looking green and me and the cat were placing bets if the Willow trees next door wouldn't split the wind was so crazy. I've been so impressed with you taking on the drip system. Stay cool!

    Hi Jeff! Your orchid bowl turned out so pretty, and it looks perfect on the bench. I like what you've done with the decorating on the bench. Everything stands out so much better, especially the orchids. It was nice seeing Pumpkin and Toby, and getting an update on Toby. Hi Turbo! I agree, the palm tree needs to be moved so you can see the other plants better. Thank you so much for sharing!

    Love the yellow orchids... what dedication you have to work on projects despite the heat/humidity. I am grateful we do not often see triple digits or regular humidity in MN - but supposedly climate change forecast that is what our summer climate will be like.
