As a cave-enjoyer I have to say, it is not about having a death wish. It is about the rush you get by staring death in the face and tell him "not today!". I even deliver Helcular's rod on HC even though 9/10 would consider it's a skip. Call me mad, I call me sane.
Imho the mad one is the one who wants to kill green mobs all the way to 60 with single target pulls and play a mode which was made to challenge yourself, but ignoring the part about challenging yourself.

    Warcraft Forever:
The game begins in the Classic era, with players starting at level 1 and progressing through the various zones and dungeons of the original game. This content is largely unchanged from the original release, with some minor tweaks to balance and quality-of-life improvements.
As players reach the endgame of Classic, they can choose to explore any of the three continents: Azeroth, Outland, and Northrend. All three continents will feature level 58+ content with quests that give high-level rewards and unlock certain dungeons and raids.
There will be cross-continent questlines that intertwine the stories of all three eras. These questlines will provide a sense of continuity between the different continents and help to flesh out the lore of the game.
As players progress through each continent, they will encounter progressively more challenging enemies and bosses. However, there will not be any additional requirements for unlocking content in the later eras of the game. Players can choose to progress through any continent they wish, without being required to complete achievements or quests in earlier eras.
Additionally, all gear obtained in earlier eras of the game will remain relevant and useful in later eras. There will be no obsolescence of gear, and players will have incentives to go back and complete older content, such as rare achievements or items that can only be obtained in certain zones or dungeons.
Overall, this hardcore version of World of Warcraft would provide a flexible and non-linear experience for players who are looking for a challenging and rewarding experience. By allowing all endgame content to coexist, players will have more options for exploration and progression, and all content will remain relevant throughout the entire game.

Agreed. If threat is no longer an issue, then tanking and doing damage becomes kind of mindless. It's similar to removing resource management in the name of making things easier. Or homogenizing stats into primary, stamina, secondary 1 and secondary 2. One might say that "oh threat or getting hit/def capped is stupid and a waste of time", but without them you lose a significant amount of depth of the game system.

imagine being a healer in HC! First of all leveling and then the sheer amount of responsibility of not fucking up a heal and ruining someone else's 200h work.
Oh boy and imagine a tank fucking up and letting one of the dragons in BWL turn and burn the whole raid...

I love watching HC deaths lol. It shows you how bad players really are even after playing this game for 20 years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but without Blizzard's support, HC is just an add-on... disable it and proceed with your toon normally after your first death?

we play hc because it's fun. I don't want to get a character to 60 anymore if it died, endgame isn't what it's about for us.

Sure you can do that, but then you're not playing with the community anymore. I think the server is actually pretty lonely if you're not HC

Some people want the challenge, some are unaware I guess (don't think this guy was), some are impatient/overconfident. But there are also achievements for many harder/elite quests, not sure if Pawn captures queen is one of them though. There are also bullshit achievements like warlock no pet but I'm staying the heck away from shit like that 🤣

the warrior in the cave made actual "panic mistakes", and didnt randomly forget how to play the game and start clicking empty actionbar slots. Most of the clips are the latter, completely unskilled, bored out of their mind, just hurts to watch.

I don't play hardcore so only an outsider looking in, but I thought if you reached 60 you were immortal? Some of these guys are 60, do they have to delete their characters?

Love the HC montages but I wouldn't want to play it myself because it seems like a never-ending cycle. Imagine spending 150+ hours to get close to 60 and then dying having to restart the whole thing out of frustration
