In case you're wondering why this song sounds like How to disappear (and maybe Love song) is because Lana is trying to proved herself wrong. The final lines of How to disappear go “I’m always going to be right here.” She continues the story in this song, describing how she actually came to escape L.A. and the lifestyle that was becoming toxic to her. “Calabasas/cameras flashing.” And now, people will no longer love her for her fame and success “I’m not a star.” Rather, they’ll love her for who she is. “If they love me, they love me because I’m wild at heart.” Just my take.
p/s I also read somewhere that according to Jack Antonoff (producer of this album), Wild At Heart is the part 2 of How to disappear ;)

Beautiful song; I can't believe I'd never heard of her before last week. I thought I was listening to Mazzy Star, but someone snuck Lana into the mix. Then I caught an iTunes concert with her group. She's definitely a unique talent; and as good onstage, as she is in the studio.
