Thanks Rob, pleased you like the Vanguard Golok. One point is the shoulder sling strap can also be used across your chest for fast drawing and re-sheathing.
Hi there Rob, that looks like a beast of a parang. Just a couple of thoughts here, No1, how do you think a 50% scaled down version of this blade would perform as a camp/survival knife ? No2 , could a slightly larger lanyard hole in the blade be handy for shaping and straightening shafts for arrows ? Obviously, waiting in for a parcel to arrive, I've got lots of time to think about things !😅
A hole big enough to shape arrow shafts near the handle would seriously weaken the blade, also there's the rediculous Zombie knife laws in the UK to consider if you placed it elsewhere. A scaled down version would be a little light for a camp knife in my opinion.
@darrengreaves3068 that's my super special Damasteel and antler knife, I was wondering who would spot that. I don't use it very often as I prefer my MK2 which is a similar size.
Oooo sounds nice that I thought it was a MK2 becauseof the size and shape. Lol I watch all you videos in depth at your gear and especially if you are demonstrating how too I even to a snap shot so I could enlarge it so I could sus out what it was 😂
It's nice, a really good looking blade, but £255 for D2 steel ill pass and HRC between 58-62 doesn't fill me with confidence in reliable quality either.
Looks great! Looking forward to seeing you test the production model.
Nice piece of metal.
👍 Looks really good Rob. I look forward to seeing the review on the production model 😊.

Some lovely work on Ian's blade and interesting finishes too with the vapour deposition coating
It looks a lovely knife and balanced by the way you move it.
I have a gift my friend 🤣
Looks Good 👍
That looks like a usefull tool! Cheers🔥
Nice work 😁👍🏻
Very quality looking tool, I like it like! The sheath is the best I’ve seen.
The sheath is fantastic
Nice lookin’ tool! 👍👊 Reminds a bit of the Australian Army Machete profile but with some nice enhancements.

We'll see when I get a production knife in the woods.
Is it legal??
Legal to own and use on private land.
I double checked!
Seems like more of a parang no?
Goloks are usually straighter than parangs, let's call it a matchette 👍
