Thanks for the headsup on the TINK profiles, updated my without a second thought. Those profiles literally do ALL the work for you, it's so good it makes me wonder why there's even manual adjustment options lol. Re: Tapto readers... My single MiSTer sits in the centre of my setup with cables taking it simultaneously (via matrix switchers) to my scaler, my CRTs and even to my Arcade cab (which has no board inside, acting more like a facade). A USB cable takes the cabinet's control inputs out of the back and over to the MiSTer. A set-up like mine (that uses one MiSTer to serve multiple display/controller configurations) could benefit from having multiple TapTo readers, one at the cabinet, one near the couch for example.
Another great show as always. A weekly highlight for me. Thank you and happy 4th to you and everyone else who works so hard to make it possible. Appreciate you all.
Regarding _Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero._ The first physical release was by Columbus Circle in 2017, in cooperation with the people who bought the rights in 2014. The quality was excellent (as usual from CC) and they're still available for $50~60 NiB on US eBay. To expound further on the game's history; it was originally slated for a retail cartridge release on the Super Famicom in 1994, but after mounting delays, it only ever saw a 1997 release as a Satellaview broadcast. It's a very good-looking and fun Mega Man style game, from the same devs as _Assault Suits Valken._ I've got the Columbus Circle release, but I'll be picking up this English version from retro-bit for sure! 😉👌
For Nec Pc88/98, X68000 and FM Towns I use Popolon's SNES->MSX adapter so I can use 8BITDO 2.4ghz wireless snes controllers.. So damn good. But this new controller is interesting!
TapTo-suggestion: It would be really cool to implement two nfc-readers for any kind of games that has interconnectivity. Some examples I can think of right now that might not be feasible for other reasons, but still help explain the idea would be Pokemon stadium 1&2 and the n64s transfer pack. Tap stadium to load it, tap pokemon red/blue to load that in the transfer pack. Gamecube wouldnt work ofc, but same concept there, with the gc-gba link cable. Another example could be something like the sonic&knuckles cart, or maybe tap a sega cd game that has a cart and tap a cd to add sega cd soundtrack or something.
Hi espset1234, I'm one of the developers on the TapTo project, I have a suspicion this might be impossible without changes to how the main MiSTer binary works, but I'll make sure Wizzo reads your comment.
I can’t help but imagine the unicorn of a casual Jaguar player who’d buy that Jag2HD without learning about the HDMI drawbacks. I’m sure that person exists, but something about it being on the Jaguar makes that person seem like a unicorn’s unicorn. Imagine a group of unicorns getting together and sharing a myth of a creature with two horns, that is the Jaguar gamer looking for a HDMI solution without researching
Columbus circle did release shock man in Asia a few years back but their retro re-releases are poor quality, same with their Gleylancer. Retro-bit do quality releases however and I’m impressed with what they put out, quality packaging, cart shells and pcbs at the right thickness, bevel and voltage :)
Cannot wait to see Bob posting youtube shorts and tictacs on "Top 10 worst analog dacs!" or "These devices will break your console!" click bait videos. XD Gotta beat that algo boys!
The previous physical release of ShockMan Zero was sold by Columbus Circle in Japan. It was released under licence of the rights holder. The quality of these carts are reasonable. But I will say that the Columbus Circle cart at not beveled.
My wife is a full time streamer and I do the setup work for her show. I wouldn’t touch the Jag2HD. This is a super weird choice to include janky HDMI conversion.
Wish I could come to retro world but there's something very wrong with my back. Still don't know what it is. Arnold Schwarzenegger says it's not a tumor though, so I have that going for me.
On one hand, it's use what works for you. On the other hand, it's how do you know what's best for you. There's also Fighters vs RPG's and how susceptible to lag someone is. That's why we need people like you, but you could be more objective. Like we know Pound is crap, but we know that there are good budget products like electron-shepherd and gamescare. I wish you would look at the new PSIO update, for the sake of good journalism. What if it's really good now even with all the drama.
I can certainly say from experience that the PSIO has been worth the time and money. Being an early adopter and waiting for updates sucks but the updates have been great.
Hey Rob! Great video :) Is there anyone who helps you with all that you do who doesn't get much credit as they deserve? Someone behind the scenes I mean.
I really try my best to shout everyone out. Some of the contributors help out more behind the scenes, but ut I really do make an effort to say when others contribute. Have I missed anyone?
@@RetroRGB I can't pinpoint anyone in particular. I was just thinking about someone who helps with editing or just someone in general who makes your life easier.
Well, I do all my own editing and write all the posts with my name on them (unless specifically mentioned in the post). So it’s not like bigger RUclips channels where I’m the one on camera representing other people’s work. I don’t have a problem with that at all…just saying, what you see is what you get here.
@@RetroRGB Well you're very good at it! And I'm sure a lot of us would agree we like what we get :). Thank you for all the terrific content you create and everything you do for the retro community :).
In regards of the Jag2hd I wish you had been harder on the situation. I'll steal one of your own lines and say I'm typing this with love and respect, but it can be frustrating when you're so unwilling to say anything bad about a product. Even when there are big flaws it seems like you twist yourself up saying how something bad can still be good in some hypothetical edge case scenario. Basically I wish you could he more free to say a product is bad. Especially if it's something you'd never use in your own setup.
It's clear to me you aren't gatekeeping products and releases by the simple fact that you're still covering pixelfx and terraonion releases and updates despite your feelings on things they've said. And I appreciate you more for it, thanks Bob.
I hate how they always do these Vinyl Soundtracks, when I’d rather have High Quality CDs. The CDs are so cheap to press now, I think they don’t wanna undercut the price of the vinyl version, but if you truly appreciate it, you’d want it to sound crisp like it does in game….
Completely agree. I'd buy those MGS2 soundtracks faster than you could say "La Li Lu Le Lo" IF they were on CD. Best of both worlds in terms of tactile item and owning a digital backup, and far less environmentally unfriendly as vinyl.

Hi Bob, happy 4th! And looking forward to seeing you and LGR at RetroWorldExpo
Thanks, I’m looking forward to being there!
Thank you Bob, we appreciate all that you do for us!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day, and a Happy 4th! 🤜🤛
Cool, I'm glad they found a way to fix the power issue with the DE10 clone

5 oclock retro show!!!
Whoops, once I got to Mondo's site I ordered 3 Castlevania OSTs.
luma code how work??
digital signal of the console to lumacode (digital o analog???) to hdmi??
still bummed there was 0 coverage on retro game youtube when the legendary N64 fully completed prototype of Cubivore was released.
🤘

One day you're gonna mis-spell that last timestamp and tell us you're not a cluck farm!
What can you do with an og Xbox hardmod that you cant with a softmod?
Will the DE10 alternative be compatible with de DEXX? Interesting.
Great question! I’ll find out when I get one…
Is anyone making PicoSync devices yet? I think it went open source recently. Would be massive for D-series BVMs and others (e.g. some JVC monitors).
bob you talk to mike chi, has he said anything about the 5x direct?
@@adrianrodriguez-iz1wr pretty confident that was cancelled as all his focus/attention was put towards the tink4k. I could be mistaken tho

Calling Shockman Zero a "reprint" instead of a "reproduction" is big dick energy. I do the same thing.
