The difference between marked and unmarked roads is clear in this video. Please mark all roads and even write speed limits on the road. Gov. Mbah please listen to the voices of the people: build a 25-30 storeys triple towers to change the skyline of this great city. Long overdue.
Nice video, the city looks whao, clean and beautiful also looks a bit more planned than most Nigerian cities. All it needs now are high-rise buildings, skyscrapers and that will make it a 21st century city.
Enugu (founded 1904) and Port Harcourt (founded 1913) were supposed to complement each other. Enugu was the admin/political capital of the eastern region and PH was the Commercial/port city. Therefore Michael Okpara built identical facilities in both cities e.g. Hotel Presidential. While he built Emene Industrial Layout in Enugu, a bigger one Trans-Amadi Industrial Layout was built in in PH etc. After the war, Port Harcourt was seized by the Nigerian government and its foreign allies and dashed to Ijaw who set about wrecking the garden city masterplan. Seeing that PH had been taken away, earlier and more focused Ibo leaders like Sam Mbakwe resolved to build a New Port Harcourt in the Azumini/Ukwa axis. They actually started it but the effort fizzled out when less adroit and knowledgeable people hijacked Ibo leadership especially in the area called Abia State. Although PH later returned to Ibo control via state creation, it never recovered its pride of place in the hearts and mind of Ibos that it once did. So it is pointless comparing Enugu and Port Harcourt.
@@mcu9277 Still more trees needed. Enugu is not Sahara desert or Mauretania. Look at those bare and bland road medians in a city located in the lush green rain forest. See the Mombasa video.
@raphduru9787 Like you were told before, you make good points but you are far too abrasive to the point of alienating your readers. But maybe your brand of acerbic criticism is what our people need to spur them into action. I do agree that Enugu City founded in 1904 has been the capital of Iboland for long enough to have a befitting skyline. Which is a shame compared to Juba, the capital City of South Sudan of yesterday. Quite unlike other states, Enugu governors have inherited some level of infrastructure which they ought to build upon but haven't so far. We call on Gov Mbah to step up to the plate and build us some triple towers.
Enugu is not bad . skyscraper or no skyscraper. This was a city that was reduced to ruins during the 1967-1970 war. Beautiful city, but more needs to be done. More tree planting, landscaping, more road markings, construction of internal roads, etc
I can tell for a fact that Enugu is the only Nigerian city with this much greenery but I get your point

Enugu the mushroom city 😃And this has been the capital of Igboland for about 150 years! No single skyscraper 😃
Britain had it first skyscraper in 2010s. Skyscraper is not a necessity for defining a city! You should give it a rest!
