One of my favorite songs of Art. Early Art Alexakis compositions are so full of emotion. RAW, MEANINGFUL, POWERFUL and ALIVE! Wish he was still writing like that, but I guess the inspiration for that comes from all the stuff he's left behind for his own good. The excellent work is recorded and accessible, it's only a shame it doesn't get as much credit as it deserves.
To me, Art Alexakis always told a story with every song. I've been a fan since the mid, late 90's when I was a teenager. Dude can write a song like no other.
This song is SO good! There are two songs from Art's Colorfinger days that I wish he would've included on an Everclear album.......13 Years and Kill The Sun!
This has a very similar feel to it like "Fire Maple Song". This could have gone on WON, but it sounds like they might have used some of the riffs and parts from this to make up other songs on WON like "Evergleam" or "Loser Makes Good"
+Don't Feed the Trolls Invisible, Trust Fund, Heartspark $... I think there may be more if you count certain phrases that Art has reused over the years. It's been a while since I critically listened to all of the songs. It's very cool to hear the early versions though. There probably isn't enough of a market for it, but I'd certainly buy an official complete pre-Everclear Art Alexakis discography in better quality than what seems to be currently available via bootleg (I'm guessing some of these are cassette-sourced, for example).
I was able to download the whole album must have been 10-12 years ago. For a little while there colorfinger had an actual band website. I think they were trying to get deep in the heart of the beast in the sun re-released since as i understand the original release only had like 1000 cd's made. It never happened and the site went down. There was also some old solo art demos that sounded like he recorded on cassette pitching to record labels. it was pretty neat.

Man this song and album just gets me all nostalgic. Sooo good!
I love the lyrics. This track is so underrated. Not perfect, but exceptional. Truly some great songwriting.

That's cool! By any chance, do you know where I can find The Comearound? I've searched the internet, but haven't found it.
i feel like this is so much better than the other songs on the album...
Bring back Colorfinger. Modern Colorfinger with new Everclear.
the best song of the 90s..

Perhaps my top 1 or 2 "favorite" anti-drug songs of all time; along with "Making Waves" by Wilco. Fuck.
Eleanor young!!!
