Man, we barely ever see Acchan yet the show manages to get us all to tear up when Catarina has to say goodbye to her. It speaks to how well written this show is to pull that off.
Okay I’m not going to flat out say who it is, but Katarina wasn’t the only one to reincarnate as a character in this world, she was just the one who fully remembered her past life.
This scene.....I lost it when I was _describing_ it to a friend. Just.....Catarina finally is able to resolve her biggest regret, and Acchan gets to give a proper goodbye to her dear friend. The fact that Acchan is going to be with her as Sophia.....I don't think I'll EVER be able to watch or describe this scene without tearing up.
@@therealcactoos9457 No kidding! This show has perhaps one of the best (if not the best) written harem protagonists I've ever seen. No wonder all her close friends are head over heels for her. @Grande Leonardo Because its easier to write the story that way. 0:07 "Unwilling to leave, unable to stay". I don't remember where this phrase comes from, but it popped up in my mind at this moment. This is the part that unfortunately glossed over in most issekais.
Acchan broke my heart ♡ even with the small amount of screen time she had, her reactions to her best friend dying and this good bye really got me. I tear up everytime...i wish Acchan could somehow have her own body instead of living through Sophia, since Sophia seems to have her own desires and personality that differs from Acchan
Acchan lived her life, then died, then reincarnated as Sophia. She just doesn't have memories of her past life like Katarina does. She still occasionally has dreams of that past life, but she doesn't have access to those memories when she is awake in the way her friend does.
I think this is the saddest scene of the anime. Catarina finally says goodbye to her friend Acchan before going back to her new world. She finally tells her friend how much she meant to her and that she would never forget her. The most heart breaking part is Acchan finally says goodbye and thensays that she'll always be there for her friend. With the music and the scenes of how the two were best friends truly ties things together, and makes your tearducts swell. Love and friendship will never die with them.
So an isekai series that actually has the main lead being able to look back to their former life to made amends and properly say their farewells. Yeah... my next life as a villainess needs to be the new standard of the genre from here going forward. Brilliant writing mixed with emotional moments and most importantly, a main lead that you can be able to connect with rather than the “blank slate that is so OP, you wonder how the world functioned before they arrived.” Doesn’t apply to all in the genre, but a good number of them are guilty of it.
This part made me cry so hard. I had to give my best friend a call. It was truly beautiful I think it capture what it’s like having a best friend that truly makes your life so much better. Moments like these make this anime memorable and enjoyable for me.
In all the excitement and action of isekais, we often overlook the fact that the MC’s family and friends lost someone and they never truly got to say goodbye and make amends after their death. Atsuko having to live her life without her best friend and them having to say their last goodbye at such a young age… the days they couldn’t spend together, a life they didn’t get to live together and so many things they just didn’t get to do.
This scene was really beautiful but also sad, because katarina finally got to see her friend acchan from her previous life again and she also regretted not having a chance to thank her for helping her during junior high school and saying goodbye because she died in that accident. So sad and at least katarina thanked her for everything before going back to her world too. It's also really messed up that Katarina's real name from her previous life is never mentioned at all in the anime.
This raises a question about the reality of the story, whether all of this is Acchan’s way of coping with the loss of her friend. It makes sense because she can imagine her friend doing for all the characters in the game what she did for her, brightening their lives with her chaotic kindness. But the anime smartly doesn’t insist on this interpretation as definitive. You can choose to believe it, or commit to believing this world is 100% real.
I really wish this anime had more emotional scenes like this. It had a couple of too many fillers during the school days arc but this scene genuinely made me tear up the first time i saw it.
Catarina: It's so hot! I sure wish i had some watermelon soda! Sophia: It's your favorite right?! Catarina: Huh? Catarina looks at sophia and see's aachan for a second! Catarina: Sophia are you...? Sophia: What did i just say? Catarina smiles with small tears in her eyes. Catarina: Oh nothing! (Both laugh) That scene or something similar would be nice!
I remember I cried a little when I watched this... The moments of their friendship, the fact that Acchan will have to live on without Caterina, Acchan as Sophia, all of it. I just... am weak.
When you love someone so strongly that you go as far as to reincarnate into the same world as the person you are longing for, that’s the ultimate. And that’s why Sophia is *BEST GIRL* indeed.
