    watching this video from my Acer swift 3 intel 5 10th gen. I don't have a problem with the display. Prolly not as good as apple but as time goes by, it becomes decent. At first faces in the display sucks as it looks like all people's faces were filtered but for some reason, after a few hours it fixed by itself.
    The keyboard was my favorite part. The spacing was awesome. Just fitted right for me and yes the fan is so quiet I can't really hear anything at all and the intel core 5 10th gen even if I only tether in 3g phone works really fast.
    Oh I'd like to add that the speaker is awesome as well. I lived in southeast Asia and I don't have air-conditioning in my room I used two electric fans that which is so noisy But I can still hear you decently and even if I go to the bathroom , I can still hear it. its the speaker is beyond decent. The battery, decent. I only charge once or twice a day more like once a day watching Netflix creating website and using social media, and office tools

    Great review but was expecting some more CPU benchmarks. Would you please include some CPU benchmarks like Cinebencn R20, Blender, Handbrake, V-ray etc. Why I'm saying this because it can go over 60% or more compared to Intel Quad core Comet lake and Ice lake chips. This can actually do high end video and photo editing, even 4k, with ease. I'm using the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 with same CPU but 16gb ddr4 ram and very impressed. It can sometimes beat my i7-8750H laptop in some CPU heavy tasks which run for shorter duration. This thin and light laptop not only gives you portability and good battery life, but let you do highly demanding tasks which was not reachable with these kind of laptops with U series 15W processors.

    • @LonSeidman
      @LonSeidman  4 года назад +1

      We don’t lean too heavily on benchmarks in our evaluations given my focus on general consumers.

    • @123Suryasis
      @123Suryasis 4 года назад +1

      @@LonSeidman Don't get me wrong, I also don't want this to be flooded with raw benchmark and numbers. Why I'm asking this is because to portray the huge CPU performance leap over Intel based quad core U series processors and the stuffs you can now do in a 2.5 lb Ultrabook which previously required a powerful full size laptop with H series processors. For example, doing my video encoding or 4K editing, I always had to use My Omen 15 with i7 8750H but now I can do some of them on my 3 lbs Ultrabook with comparable performance. This is just to showcase that how much you can do on these new Ryzen 4000 chips against the competition. Like you have shown in the graphics front that it completely eliminates the requirement of low end cards like MX150.

    I own a 2019 Swift 3. It's fallen apart abeit careful use, always in my laptop bag for transit. Both screen hinges have broken off of the PLASTIC frame, Acer asked me to send the laptop to their Vancouver warehouse for "assessment" at my cost. I will not purchase another Acer. Ended up spending more for durability on an XPS 13 this year, otherwise the Swift 3's metal hinge bracket surely would have broken through the keyboard tray.
    It appears this year's Swift 3 has the same hinge construction. Buyer beware.

    Bought this exact model and had major issues. After updating the included Norton version, no more fingerprint reader and Windows Hello does not see the camera either. Contacted Acer support and they have no solution. Reinstalling driver (taken from Acer site) do not work either.
    Did factory reset and tried removing Norton without doing an update, same result. So if you get this laptop, understand that you will not be able to use finger print reader and Hello face will not work as it does not see the camera.
    … Ha yes, doing a factory reset also failed, ending up with what looks like a disc corruption. Needed to call Acer support “again” to fix that, they had a solution but at this point I lost confidence in the product.
    Other annoyance, as stated in video, this come with adware pre-installed by Acer. While this is acceptable when you get free stuff, I did pay for the PC, so it should come with a clean version of Windows.
    The only good news is the screen, which was way better than what I read, no issue there.
    At the end, after spending hours trying to find a solution, I returned this flawed product for a full refund :-(

    I am from India and we are getting an AMD Ryzen 5 4500u model here in India under Swift 3 branding for 60k
    My question though is “ Is Acer dependable ? I have read all negative reviews here in India about the parts and peripherals used in Acer and also the after sales customer service is rated very down. What is your say on the quality of parts and peripherals used in Acer. Is quality at par around the globe or they make different quality products for different parts of the world? I am seriously looking forward to buy it but what is holding me back is the huge quantity of negative reviews present out there. Plz advise.....

    The Xiomi has 16gb of ram and better display for the same price but lacks a webcam and has a small battery at 46ah. I wish he had listed more of the actual specs instead of saying he got about 10 hours of battery life which doesn´t mean much if I am using more high power tasks and knowing the video memory is more important than knowing fps in doom if I am not playing games. It seems RUclips reviews are always geared towards gamers and not working.

    What is currently the best amd 17 inch laptop in terms of performance no matter the high price? Dell xps 17 is cool but I am looking for amd

    1. Is the difference between R5 and R7 in 3rd gen significant?
    2. Why is AMD slow in adopting thunderbolt 3?

    • @NeblogaiLT
      @NeblogaiLT 4 года назад +6

      1) In laptops, performance depends on power as well. APU in this laptop is configured for rather low power (18W sustained), so the difference between the R5 and R7 is not very high. In games- it is about 10%, but it can be much higher in pure CPU or pure GPU workloads.
      2) Thunderbolt was created by Intel and Apple, and initially was not shared with others. Technically now it is free for everyone, but I think there are still some certification hurdles - so only rare AMD products get it. Situation should change next year, because USB4 is getting the same functionality as TB3, and AMD are very likely to integrate USB4 into their next APUs.

    buy the lenovo ideapad 5 14 (not flex) with amd ryzen 7 4700u, 16gb ram, keyboard backlight and wifi 6 card. On lenovos website this will come to £709.99 but you can use code CUPO80 to reduce the price to £630 which is crazy cheap for such a great laptop. The coupon runs out in July so if your gonna buy a laptop for university or college then buy it now since the shipping can be more than 6 weeks.
